Love PS #31!
Peter Stokebe #31 is possibly the best pipe tobacco on the market. Very smmooth, cool smoke. Perfect for the evening. Very relaxing.

Reminds me of my old favorite.
I mixed 1 part of PS 31 Optimum to 3 parts PS 24 Nougat to make a blend that is very close to my old favorite I used to buy from a national chain when I was twenty-something. Good Stuff!

policy change
Has the management changed at P & C? Many of the policies regarding the client have been altered; I utilized P&C for years because of its previous policies. I do not understand the reasoning behind the changes of something successful, unless, of course, there is new management. However, I still prefer the previous client-P&C policies.

P.S Optimum
Very pleasant aromatic from Peter Stokkebye. Smooth and delicious without being overly sweet. A subtle taste reminds me of flavored cigars I've tried. Not as well balanced as 1Q but certainly an excellent aromatic. Give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed, especially with the price.

Optimum by Stokkebye
An excellent Aromatic with good quality tobacco. Although somewhat weak in flavor, it still is a worthy blend for those that like sweet aro's.

Really digging this one
Not as bold as some others, but a good all day smoke. Not cloying like many bulk aromatics.

Nicely niched nicotine
This is my work-a-day aromatic, and it's great for what it is - a light, sweet bowl I can contentedly puff while my hands and brain are busy with other things. It was goopy out of the gate (which makes tongue bite inevitable, imho) but after a short seven week sit it's just about right. Packs perfectly, stays lit and burns fairly cleanly. I smoke aromatics in the shop and English blends in the evenings, and therefore pay less attention to my pipes during the day, but 31 Optimum refuses to smolder in the background. Every so often I'll get a puff that has a beautiful creamy finish that grabs my brain and says, "That's why you smoke aros." Not the greatest most distinctive legendary bowl, but for an inexpensive daily smoker it's awesome.

Okay
It’s okay. But I find it’s better mixed with Mclleland Georgian Creme.

Good smoke
Mild, with an interesting flavor. Good change of pace

'twas aight
Meh. I'm glad I inherited this instead of purchasing it. It wasn't bad but as another reviewer pointed out there were a lot of things going on flavour wise. I smoked through two ounces of this before writing this review and only two of the bowls were memorable. I don't know if maybe I was in the right mood or I packed it extra special. For the most part I just stuck this in a cheap Italian pipe and puffed away between work shifts. Good enough to unconsciously smoke but not memorable.

PS 31
2nd go round on this. Much less vanilla. Nice and fruity without that dreaded cassia berry. This is my go-to aromatic now.

Great Mild Smoke, But a Little Light on Aroma.
Mild but is a little lacking on aroma. To add aroma, I discovered that cutting in Peter Stokkebye Old English gives it a unique aroma. To retain the mildness, I cut in only about one part Old English (4:1 ratio). That adds a wonderful unique aroma of Old English, without the burn. After trying out a variety of blends, the 4:1 (Optimum:Old English) blend is now my smoke going forward.

Gentle and Nice
I smoked several bowls of this before this review because if I wrote one after a bowl or two I would not have ranked this one that high. Such a bouquet of flavors in this that its hard to pick out just one. Give it time to grow on you and you'll be rewarded with a gentle, flavorful all day smoke.

A VERY FRUITY MILD AROMATIC.
A VERY FRUITY MILD AROMATIC. I WILL BUY IT AGAIN!

Great aromatic for those starting out or for the experienced pipers.
What a wonderful aromatic! The room note was a huge, huge hit with our family over Independence Day Weekend and the flavors are fantastic for me, a win-win!

Must try aromatic.
Peter Stokkebye never disappoints and this one is no exception to that rule. I really enjoy this as an everyday aromatic smoke. I detected several different flavors to include just a hint of smokey cherry flavor. I would buy this again.

PS Optimum
I have been smoking this blend for about 15 years, I have tried several other blends and always come back to Optimum. Probably will never smoke anything else, mild, clean burning and a pleasant aroma, even for non smokers.

Good stuff
I have tried several Stokkebye products, and the are excellent. I especially like the 31 Optimum because of its mildness.

Too mild for me
Topping is a sensual, vanilla forward witches brew with fruit under tones. Very mild all day smoker. Too lite for me. Four stars for a pleasant tobacco. Age when smoked: Fresh.

Excellent products. Reasonable prices.
I am enjoying the Stokkebye 31 and plan to order some more. Perhaps explore some other blends as well. Thank you.

Excellent smoke.
Great aroma, not as sweet as golden dansk 48, I enjoy black Cavendish tobacco and this hits the mark. Cool smoking with no bite. Pleasing room note, and burns completely to a white ash. Great value comparable to Tinderbox Chartwell. Is definitely a regular purchase. Thanks P&C.

My Optimum choice.
Optimum is one of my favorite all day smokes. I was lucky enough to find it at my local B&M and purchased 2oz. To try it out. A few hours later I was back for half a pound. Now that I see I can buy it hear in bulk for less I will probably include it in my next order. It's a smooth smoking great tasting blend with just the right mix of Cavendish and vanilla/fruit flavor to be enjoyable with a coffee or something a little stronger in the evenings.

Optimum lives up to its name.
Received my Optimum recently. Finally tried it today. Wow! This is a great blend. Been smoking Nougat. Will definitely be keeping Optimum onhand. Extremely smooth, tasteful and aromatic.

buy in volume and save
optimum is by far my favorite daily smoke. sure I enjoy a late night dunhill and I have gotten many enjoyable batches of "best of the rest". but by buying the optimum in bulk at such a low price and storing it till I need some, I never run out. I live on the remote coast and delivery is a fantastic convenience .
Customer Testimonials
I am new to pipe smoking so to try out some aromatics I got the Danish Sampler which is awesome. The Optimum has set itself apart from the others. It is very smooth and somewhat creamy. It burns cool and even. It was difficult to get it lit, but I just blame that on me being a newbie. My wife loves this aroma! She is not the biggest fan of smoking, period, but when I light a bowl of Optimum up she loves it, she says it smells like cotton candy. I do not think it tastes like that but it is good.
