Peter Stokkebye No. 310 Black Latakia is made by hanging earthy Turkish tobacco over an aromatic fire, allowing the smoke to saturate the leaf until it turns black. The result is a tobacco that will impart a campfire-like flavor and aroma to a blend. It smokes exceptionally slowly and is a phenomenal component in creating your own English or Balkan-style blend. For consistency, Stokkebye Black Latakia is your best bet.
I love the taste of Latakia. I use it to create my own blend, but smoked a bowl of it before I made my blend. It can stand alone for my taste, and I'll be ordering a few ounces with my next order to smoke occasionally with nothing added.
I love this stuff, yes I do. I smoke it just the way it is. It is like Black silk. I also add it to 4.oz white burley '3.oz Virginia Red and a touch of 1/2 oz. Maduro and 1.oz of this Black silk Latakia and it is one of the fines smokes I've ever stuck a match to. 0ver 30+ years smoking and making and restoring pipes this is the one I keep at all time on hand. This is my everyday go to recipe.Blessed be A&R pipes.
I am well aware of the fine name Peter Stokkebye's tobaccos have around the world, however the last few times I have ordered any of their tobaccos, it seems the flavor and aroma has been lost to the air.
Very strong and dry. Don't buy unless you plan on using it to make your own blend. I mixed it with come vanilla Cavendish and N.C. tobacco to smooth it out
