Love the Rusticated 268, but...
I've owned a previous Aran rusticated 268 with a slight forward cant, which I believe is the Zulu style. I like the look of this pipe. This new pipe didn't have the forward cant. Still a great pipe.

I love Peterson pipes
I purchased a Peterson pipe several years ago in Dublin. It finally wore out this year and for grins I purchased two new pipes, not Petersons. Big mistake, I didn’t like how they smoked, felt or looked. I went back to Peterson with this latest pipe purchase and it was like I found my lost puppy.

First, it's a Peterson. About 35 yrs ago at a local tobacco/pipe shop, an older gent saw me looking at a Ptrsn, and remarked, "Peterson??! That's a SMOKIN pipe!", indicating his approval. Good quality then, and now. What really thrills me is the flat bottom, so I can set it down just so. In my mid-60s, now, and once in a while I treat myself to something nice...this Peterson buy was one of those moments....

Love the Pipe
The beautiful rusticated work on briar go to show a wonderful pipe worth looking and, smoking for a joy to have. The price of an Aran made by Peterson has made it worth the investment as, I count on smoking it and, after that, it works great really which, is my main idea for buying.

My first Peterson
I own MANY briars, but this is my first Peterson. I absolutely love this pipe and can see why the Peterson name is so venerated in the pipe smoking world. I haven't quite broken it in yet, but it smokes cool and dry out of the box. I was slightly disappointed that the chamber came "pre-carbonized" or coated with something. I prefer new pipes with bare chambers, but this is just my preference. It is a great pipe through and through.

It is great. I thought from the picture that was shown that it would be bigger in the bowl. But I have found that I enjoy the smaller bowl very much for a shorter smoke.
