Peterson Dublin Castle pipes feature and exquisite sandblasting and finished in a dark matte brown. Connecting the stem to the bit is a classic Peterson band placed there for elegance and a little bling.
I ordered this pipe on St. Patrick's day and got it within a week. When I got it out of the package I noticed the band was a bit of an odd color a bit like antiqued bronze, so I put it on my buffer for a second and was surprised to find a sterling silver band that was hallmarked and everything underneath. This was my first sandblasted Peterson pipe, and I'll give whoever is doing the blasting at Peterson an A+. The mortise on this pipe was super deep almost like it's a system pipe but it smokes dry and consistently well right out of the box. Altogether I couldn't be more pleased. I've had mixed experiences with Peterson in the past but based on this one I could wholeheartedly recommend this line.
