The name might be Peterson Old Dublin, but this is a traditional Scottish mixture consisting of Cyprian Latakia, fine Virginias, unflavored black Cavendish and select Basma. This medium-bodied blend is sweet, smoky and exotic, and incredibly satisfying. Old Dublin is a great choice for those who enjoy Latakia in measured doses.

One of my new favorite tobaccos
This was something that I saw at the tinder box here in Reno Nevada. Being new to the world of English blends I thought I would try a tin. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made. Now I want to do is smoke this all the time. One of my new favorite tobaccos. Do yourself a favor and try a tin. You won’t regret it.

A classic
Simply put this is my all day, everyday type of smoke. A little sweetness, a detectable smokiness and a consistent flavour. Good from top to bottom. If you are someone who is looking to venture, for the first time, into the world of "English" tobaccos id highly recommend starting here. If you're an old hand and are looking for something straight forward and consistently good, look no further. Perhaps there are better blends on the market with a more nuanced flavour profile, but to find a blend that has never left ME wanting is as good as it gets.

At a pub over looking the Leafy.
Smoking Old Dublin transports me beck to that experience even without my reading James Joyce’s The Dubliners.

A pleasant surprise
I bought a tin of this about 6 mounted ago and set it on the shelf and forgot about it. One day, I was scanning over my supply and noticed the Old Dublin and decided to finally give it a try. What a pleasant surprise! As a Latakia lover, I found this blend to be very satisfying. Lots of smokey Latakia flavor tamed by the sweet Virginia and Orientals. Easy to light, smooth smoking and as long as you take your time and relish the flavor, very little bite. I think I might have found my everyday blend. If you're an English blend fan, I would definitely give this one a try.

My "go to" tobacco
Don't know if I can add to review of the blend that already hasn't been stated but this is by far one of my most favorite blends. It gives off a beautiful smoky smell and it is perfect in moistness too. The ribbon cut is very even and packs very well. It burns beautifully with no detectable bite. Great middle of the road tobacco!!!

Vanilla Cookies plus Soap
I'm in the process of trying out a sampling of tobaccos for RYO--12 so far. I had been smoking ExportA lights for years. This was the worst tobacco I've tried so far. Smells and tastes like sweet vanilla cookie dough, with a bit of soapiness thrown in. I couldn't get through my first cig. I thought my palette might be distorted by my prior meal. I tried it again later, same awful soapy-taste plus vanilla cookies. Not for me.

Ahhh... That's More Like It
My favorite English blend to date! Very nice smoke, not quite Nirvana, but close enough. Very happy.

ade the short list
Just started smoking a pipe again after a 25 year hiatus. I'm trying different samples to figure out what I like and maybe find an all day smoke. This just made the short list. Thanks Pipes and Cigars for having such a large and varied selection.

Great Change From The Usual!!
Another happy customer! Peterson's Old Dublin is a nice U.K.-style blend, but not the kind of eye-watering smack one trying it out after years of Cherry Blend would expect. This is more like a less sweet Burley and a very nice way for the aromatic smoker to try something more Continental. In a perfect world, it might have a slight citrus note, but you can always stick some orange peel into the pouch for that. Deserves all the five star ratings, worth a try, folks! P & C service always great. Be aware their 1-oz. bags often come dried out and might need a bit of humidification. Otherwise, a solid purchase all around.

Good but not my go to.
Not quite what I thought it would be. I'm newer to all of this so I'm still searching for that top 2 i can "go to".

It's good.
To be truthful I'm very new to pipe smoking so I don't even know if my words are credible but Peterson old Dublin is good. I don't regret buying it however I don't believe I'm going to buy it again just because it's not one of my favorites.

Buy the bulk option!
This is great tobacco! I've recently returned to pipe smoking and am new to P&C. I put together an order of something like 12 different tobaccos, all English and VA/Pers. So with a dozen choices at my finger tips, I have smoked at least one bowl of this every day for the past 10 days. I will definitely keep this one on hand at all times. And, if you buy bulk, it is a great value.

A Steady Smoke
Nice all the way through has made my rotation. If you like Dunhill 965, you'll like this.

A perfect choice for your first taste of a Latakia Blend.
As a caveat, I am not a heavy pipe smoker and I normally prefer milder, aromatic blends. However at the prompting of a friend and my own curiosity I tried this offering as a trial into the world of Latakia blends. I found this tobacco to be nothing short of intriguing and satisfying. A real surprise to me because the "nose" on Latakia tobacco and Latakia blends tend to turn people away. I really enjoyed this tobacco and have dedicated a pipe to this tobacco for future enjoyment when I need a change of pace from my normal haunts. I particularly found that the blend of Oriental tobaccos were very interesting to the palate and to the room note for me. I will be ordering more of this wonderful blend.

A must have!
Always a favorite. Clean and smooth from beginning to end.

Nice smoke
Not too heavy on the Latakia, reminds me of University Flake. Good flavour though and I would recommend it if you like English blends.

Great Smoke
A good flavorful cool smoking blend. I used to smoke "Black Watch tobacco that I bought at Vottis Pipe shop in Albany NY and loved it. The shop closed in 1991. This the closest blend to it that I've found yet. I highly recommend it.

This was my first English and at the time I had no idea what I was doing. In fact I'm not even sure why I chose it because all my decisions at that time were based on which flavor I wanted to try. For this to not say cherry or whiskey on the tin would have been a turn off. I got back to the barracks loaded it up and realized I had something special on my hands. After that my friends started smoking it too and we couldn't get enough. The Latakia comes through beautifully, but I think it is the Basma that gives it that extra something in flavor. About the room note-- I never had any complaints but the aroma is strong. If I was smoking an aromatic and a friend lit old Dublin it would ruin my smoke. We had to start coordinating tobaccos.

This is one of my favorite tobaccos. I find out this after trying many kind of tobaccos and now i smoke mostly this one.
Customer Testimonials
I'm trying to like this blend, but my main comment is that it tastes ... salty. I'm a veteran English and matured Virginia's smoker, and trying this for the first time. It burns nicely, lights easily and leaves a white ash. But I'm missing any sweet undertones in the smoke and a lack of tanginess to offset that salty, sharp quality that I get from it.
