A Licorice Lick
I really enjoyed War Horse Green. The tin note was very pleasant and its taste had a soft, floral, anise/fennel flavor that gave me a cool, gentle and smooth smoking experience. No tongue bite was ever had, but my tongue did tingle a bit - the way it does when a Clove cigarette is smoked. This is not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you're drinking tea, water or some other kind of beverage. I'm unabashedly in love with WHG and I'm going to keep it on tap.

Unique and delicious
I'll admit, on paper this sounds like a bad idea. A Dark Fired crumble plug topped with licorice and a tin note of Playdoh. However, this blend reveals itself when smoked. Somehow it works and creates a unique taste and smoking experience not found anywhere else. About once a year I get a craving for this and everything else goes on hold while I burn through a tin. The packing takes some getting used to and it can sometimes deliver a heavy nicotine hit. But the taste has a way of taking hold and really satisfying me. It will ghost a bit so you might want to start off with a cob. As someone who hates licorice, I am always surprised at how much I enjoy the taste of this one. I like it the most of the War Horse offerings. Maybe not for everyone but certainly worth a try.

An Immediate Favorite
Absolutely love this tobacco. Very bold, very robust. Excellent nicotine strength. Highly recommended for those seeking a truly robust tobacco experience.

Satisfying
Easy to crumble cake, burns nicely, bold but pleasant flavor, minimal if any tongue bite.

Smells good burns well
It’s good, not something to write to momma about but I like it. Don’t know if I would regularly buy.

Incredibly marvelous!
This tobacco is amazing! In fact, it is one of my favorites! Yes, its topped with a licorice flavoring, similar to Pernod, which is applied PERFECTLY! There is a spiciness from the dark fired kentucky, which is present all the way down the bowl but especially so when just beyond halfway. The sane is true of the topping. It doesn't ghost, but, it will remind you that it has visited your pipe if that makes any sense? However, it is so amazing in flavor that you wouldn't mind it, unless you detest licorice. It also packs amazingly well and burns down to a white ash. Lastly, my wife, who is vehemently opposed to the smell of tobacco, enjoys the aroma both during the smoke and afterward. It is potent enough to satisfy, but not so much so that it gives me the spins, but, of course, YMMV. This is wonderful when round the house or while walking the hound, yet, also while in mixed company, particularly those against our delightful hobby. In all, very highly recommended!

War Horse
I didn't mean to order plug, but it's not a big deal. It's easy to flake off and mix with my regular brand. It's a good taste. Mild but flavorful.

Mediocre Lakeland-Style Blend
This is a mediocre Lakeland-style blend. It is so heavily flavored with floral, fruit, and creamy notes that I cannot taste the underlying tobacco. I want to like it, as the flavor is very enjoyable for the most part, however there is an off note that I can't get past. I get hung up on that one flavor, which tastes like this artificially flavored toothpaste that my childhood dentist used on me for years. If you want to try something in this genre, then go for Gawith & Hogarth's Ennerdale. That stuff tastes similar, yet is done extremely well.

Disappointed. Anise top, no other real flavor.
If you like Anise and dark-fired Kentucky then this is OK, but I don't find it satisfying. It is too dark and not sweet whatsoever. It doesn't smoke well. I have given it a few tries and I am convinced now that it doesn't get better after the first impression. It doesn't live up to the rep of its red brother.

Mint!
Mint! Tin note was like a mint leaf and the flavor wasn't much better. Tobacco was relatively tasteless except for a minty overtone. I like standard Warhorse Bar but this in my opinion is not a repurchase. Might be okay if you had a cold and wanted a tobacco to maybe help clear out your sinuses.

Very Pleasant and Relaxing
This and War Horse Bar are my first plug tobaccos. I was a little nervous about trying something other than a Cavendish or Latakia. I'm glad I did!

Did not overwhelm
medium smoke; earthy flavor; not a complex smoke; did not pick up the Perique or the bourbon
