Rossi Lucca pipes are rusticated and then polished to a smooth luster. These pipes feature a metal trim ring that accents the transition from the stem to the pipe. Choose from a wide assortment of classic Rossi shapes and sizes.
I am still breaking this pipe in, so I may update the review in the future. I love the graceful Prince shape. Princes typically feature smaller bowls, but this pipe has a very large bowl indeed. It should really be called the "Lucca Brasi." It's a big, dark, rough Italian! :-)
In the hand, the rustication feels nice, though there are one or two little edges in the finish that will wear smooth with use. The pipe is nicely balanced to hold, and light enough not to feel like a chore to clench. The silver band on the stem is a nice, dressy touch.
The pipe comes with a carbon layer already present in the bowl, but I am breaking it in gently, with half-bowls and loosely packed full bowls to help get the cake off to a good start.
The only thing I have noticed is that the draft hole is slightly off-center at the bottom of the bowl. Given the bowl's wide bottom this should not be a problem. Just cosmetic, I hope.
