Sail Aromatic is a singular blend. Tobaccos in pouches usually contain Burley, Virginia, and maybe some Cavendish, but Sail Aromatic takes it a step further by adding Orientals and a touch of Latakia. The complimentary top-note makes for a pleasant aroma, and it works beautifully with the leaf so that the tobaccos is still the star. Sail Aromatic is one of my favorite all time pipe tobaccos. I think it is made by MacBaren now. I was happy to have found a good quantity available on Pipes and Cigars.

One of the great aromatic tobacco blends in my view. The Latakia and Orientals give it more body and complexity than the typical aromatic. If you are looking for an aromatic that is more stout in body and full-flavored, give this one a shot. While I also enjoy Sail Yellow, I find Green to be more interesting.

Hadn't tried this in 30 years. I like plain Dutch Cavendish blends (usually not packaged and available in a drug store), and this one has a light topping or infusion now compared to the old one. It makes it better in my estimation - more flavorful, and cooler and milder than the old version. Hard to describe that additive taste and smell - a very light vanilla maybe?

ok many English blends have black Cavendish in them and nothing against black Cavendish but this is like sail with latakia as i understand so it's like all the best of sail with just a bit more robust of a flavor

Although the leaf quality is good and the cut is identical however taste and aroma wise the new one is lacking big time. Burn quality is very good. Room note is neutral, no taste or smell of latakia to be detected. A very normal and overpriced virginia burly mixture
