San Cristobal is a boutique cigar handcrafted in Nicaragua by Jose “Pepin” Garcia. Blended entirely from rich, well-aged Nicaraguan tobaccos, these cigars feature dark, oily Nicaraguan wrappers. The flavors are rich and full-bodied, exhibiting a perfect balance between strength and complexity. Hearty notes of earth, cedar and spices are accompanied by lighter notes of walnuts, espresso, black cherries and dark chocolate. Each cigar is constructed impeccably and finished with a traditional Cuban Triple-Cap.
Excellent pure Nicaraguan cigar. A real cigar smokers cigar. Wonderful oily wrapper. Spicy and strong, but wonderfully balanced. Goes well with a good bourbon with one ice cube

I recently realized that it had been almost a year since I had last smoked a San Cristobal. Lots of new cigars to try, and only so much $ to spend on them- well, you get the idea. When I lit one up recently, I was surprised just how good this brand really is. Much spicier than I recalled (which is a good thing, to me!) with a black pepper spice that you feel on your palate, but hardly at all on the retro. Very rich and flavorful, with notes of espresso, cocoa, and sweetness. This cigar starts out at medium-full intensity and quickly rises to full, and the flavor just keeps coming. I'd call it complex, with the flavors melding so that except for the very obvious ones I've mentioned, it's difficult now to recall specific flavor notes. I'll just say that I love this brand, and I think the toro (Supremo) may be my favorite of the vitolas, although I wouldn't refuse any of the others! It will not be a year before I smoke more of these, and I intend to keep a few in my humidor from now on.
