Criminally underrated.
A very underrated blend from SPC. Why this isn't getting more attention is beyond me.

Switch hitter
The blend is very good to my palate. I have switch between the Mississippi and the Plum pudding...they all have a distinct flavor profile.. like them all. It is a great change up.

A great blend
Great blend. Oriental forward english blend pretty well balanced. Behaved nicely and paired well with a dram of Makers Mark.

Wow!
What a pleasant surprise. Understated, mellow, and yet complex, all at once. I now see what all the hype about SPC is all about.

Excellent English
Similar to Plum Pudding but toned down with burly & less latakia. Excellent addition to any English fan's rotation.

Spicy
Not sweet, not fruity, not nutty. Not PP, Not MR, but in a category all its own. HC is Burley and spice. Burley out front, Latakia in the rear, spice out the nose. It's good. Not my go to blend, but it's good.

One of my favorites
This is a winner. It's got a lot going on, but it all ties together so well. Not too light, not too heavy. Would recommend to anyone.

Best Latakia blend ever
This might be one of the best Balkan blends I've ever tasted. On the face of it, it's no different than many other Latakia-based tobaccos I've tried: Latakia, Turkish Orientals, Burley, and Perique. But there's just something about this one. My palate's not that sophisticated, so I can't quite nail down the subtle undertones this tobacco has, but it has a deeper and fuller flavor than almost any other Latakia-based tobacco I've sampled. The product description doesn't lie: robust flavor, rich, earthy Burley. I'd highly recommend Hood Canal. Perfect for a bowl on a rainy night.

Excellent flavor
This is another great from Seattle Pipe Club. Not as strong as Wild Man, so you can smoke it a little more often.

Great blend.
Sweet cedar-like Cyprian Latakia over a base-note of nutty burleys. Has a mild to medium dose of vitamin N, and a really nice overall taste. Think resinous evergreen smoke from the Lat, with toasted grains from the burleys, and an occasional sweet/tart fruitiness from the Orientals and Perique. I think this is every bit as good as Plum Pudding, though quite different. I’ll buy it again when I run out.

Seattle Pipe Club Hood Canal
I am becoming a fan of crumble cake. Lightly rubbed out, it provides a longer smoke and burns to a fine white ash. Taste and room note are excellent. It has become my new favorite.

Rick dark smooth. No bite. Very good smoke. Plenty of flavor and smoke.

Hood canal blend
It was OK but the the container was packed only 5/8 full! liked the latakia mixture and flavor , Its better then your other latakia blends as it has much more 'punch' & robust strong flavor .

Another hit from Seattle Pipe Club
Tasty and satisfying. Crumbles easily, and burns smoothly. I could see myself enjoying a bowl, while admiring the boats at Pleasant Harbor.

Very well thought out. Very professionally blended. Love it.

A nice smoke
It was a surprisingly mellow smoke given its ingredients. A very nice smoke.

Surprisingly good
I bought this because I’m a huge fan of the other SPC blends, despite not caring much for burley. This blew away my expectations in a great. Very smooth, hearty smoke that has an excellent aftertaste, and no bite at all. Highly recommend.

A New Winner
Great tobacco. The burley really adds a great flavor to this truly Balkan blend. Will purchase many more tins to keep in my rotation. A new winner from Seattle Pipe Club!

Flavor Bomb
I tend to stay away from blends that have burleys in them, so I was a bit hesitant when I ordered Hood Canal. But being a Balkan lover, I couldn't resist. I wouldn't really classify this as a Balkan as the tin description states, but the Latakia is not a forward component here. During the first part of the bowl, all I could taste was the oat flavor of the burleys, with a hint of Latakia. I began to think my hesitation to purchase was justified. Once I hit midway on the bowl, the fun began. All the tobaccos began to gel, and it became a spicy, nuanced, complex mixture that kept me puffing to the end. The perique took off, and gave me that mouth and nasal tingle. The Latakia kicked in as did the Turkish. What a blast. If I had to compare Hood Canal to another blend, I would put this up against Nightcap any day. Complex, full bodied and a flavor bomb. Would highly recommend to smoke this after a big dinner to end the night. Will keep in the rotation for now.

Jason from Pittsburgh!!
I was a little nervous about the burley but I must say that this blend is fantastic. Taste is very similar to Mississippi River but in my opinion this blend tastes much richer. Very good!! I highly recommend!!

Luxury Burley Meets Latakia -- love at first puff!
Wonderful nutty character from the luxury burley leaf. It pairs perfectly with the Latakia, the Acadian Perique and the Turkish orientals. Great smoke and the pressed crumble kake is an added plus in my book. A lovely change from the traditional English but still perfect for us Latakia lovers.

The best new English I have smoked in 20 years. Period. Good for briar or meerschsum

Tried during pre-release factory tour.
I had the pleasure of trying this tobacco pre-released at Sutliff during their factory tour. Sutliff had a blind taste test with five different tobaccos. This one was labeled "D". It is a rather mild English. Very good, but doesn't hit it home like other English blends are able to do. I will pick up a tin of this eventually when my sample runs out. It is definitely worth a go for anyone who enjoys English blends, but would want it to be a bit more tame.

My favorite SPC tobacco
Probably my favorite SPC tobacco. Full flavor and easy on the tongue. Nice all day smoke with a little kick. You'll like it.

Another great SPC blend
This is a great blend. Nice spice on the retrohale and the finish is sweet and smooth. Definitely a full bodied smoke with a nice nicotine hit. I recommend this blend for experience pipe smokers who like a stronger tobacco.

Love the Latakia
New to pipe tobacco and I have discovered English blends to be my favorites after trying aromatics and non-aromatics. My first love was the Potlatch from SPC so I decided to try Pike Place. A bit smokier than the Potlatch and a little less sweetness and an all around great smoke. I have bulked up my collection of English blends from a local tobacco shop but Pike Place will always be in my rotation.

Pike Place
Pretty true to what it says on the tin. If Mississippi River is more bread-y from the red virginias, this is more nutty. A mild, all day blend despite the burley--be sure to exhale through the nose to make the most of the delicate flavor. There is nothing offensive or harsh here, would buy again. A star off because I was hoping the burley would bump the strength and flavor and give a strong contrast to the other seattle blends

A sit back and relax smoke.
Interesting complex blend. Take some time and you will learn to appreciate it.

Pike Place, Really Unique
I was given a fair sized sample of this blend at the Las Vegas show. I smoked it in various of my pipes and liked it well enough to order a few tins. I shared it with a friend who liked it as well.He was gifted a tin for Christmas. The addition of burley to a Balkan blend is quite a change up. The addition of Perique makes this a one-or-a-kind.

SPC Pike Place
for my taste this comes across as your run of the mill English blend, heavy on the Cyprian Latakia. Nothing earth shattering but a good English none the less.
