Seattle Pipe Club - Wild Man

New from the Seattle Pipe Club and their master blender Joe Lankford - Wild Man. This is a medium-bodied blend of rich and smoky Cyprian Latakia, complex and exotic Orientals, and select, sweet Virginias, pressed into an easy-to-prepare crumble cake. The aroma will remind you of incense, but the flavor is smooth, smoky, and intriguingly unique. See for yourself what an amazing experience you'll get with Seattle Pipe Club - Wild Man.

You may see a squatch while smoking!!!
I really enjoy this blend. It has allot of flavor and gives me that satisfied feeling. It reminds me allot like quiet nights with more flavor…..It will make you take time to reflect and relax. I wish it came in an eight ounce tin. This has to be my new favorite..

Wild Man for a Wild Man. Delicious beyond expectations. Nostalgic
I loved plum pudding each time I had a bowl from char to actual light and end of bowl. It is legendary in itself as an English blend along with its blender Joe Lankford but oddly enough there was something different about wild man. I had a different connection with it than I did plum pudding. The flavor transported me back to my childhood going to my grandmothers cottage in New Hampshire sitting around campfires roasting marshmallows with my cousins and the kids around the pond. There wasn’t as much of a tongue bite as I expected and had with plum pudding which was another plus for me. Wild man is a must try in my opinion and I’m looking forward to trying others from SPC. 2 down many more to go!!! RIP Joe you were a true legend my friend.

It was good
Not as good as plum pudding or Mississippi River

Interesting, but strong.
I like this blend, but it is very unique. It's extremely bold, but the room note is almost savory and herbal. I like the room note better than the taste, but I do enjoy it when the mood strikes for a strong smoke.

A best of a smoke!
This blend is right up my alley. Lots of latakia but very balanced. Although I've smoked quite a few blends that have latakia as the star. This one really stands out. The flavor is unique. Easley an all day smoke. With no tongue bite. And stays lit. Burns down to a fine ash. The tin note is amazing. Definitely need to get more.

I’m not used to cake
I’m not used to cake tobacco and not sure how to handle it. It is a good smoke, not too heavy but slow burning. I like the flavor, not the packing. It won’t replace CB White.

Wild Man
very smooth, and in my experience, very mild; a lot milder than the mixture's name would imply. That doesn't mean it's not a pleasant smoke.

Wild Man review
Great smoky flavor with the Turkish or Orientals adding a nice round spice to the whole smoking experience. Planning to reorder pretty soon.

Best out there
It's my favorite tobacco! It's smooth and has a rich taste. I wouldn't hesitate on getting a tin.

I picked up some wild man last month. Smokes good has the smell of the forest. I would recommend after a big meal

Morning Woods Walk
A more flavorful version of the now Peterson Early Morning Pipe. Deeper Oriental/Latakia taste imo but a flavor bomb on the retrohale. Imagine walking to your deer stand as the sun is coming up over the horizon, morning dew coating the grass, and the aroma of wet cedar and cottonwood. I like EMP, but this is quickly becoming my morning "go to". Great stuff!

A smooth and mellow English
This blend surprised me with how mellow and smooth it is. The Latakia stands out in the tin aroma but it won't overwhelm you with it's presence while smoking. This is also a creamy smoke which is very enjoyable. Has a very good aftertaste of smokey campfire barbeque. If you haven't tried an English blend or you want one that isn't a lat bomb and you can enjoy a few bowls a day this should definitely make your short list. Give this one a little drying time after opening the tin, it's near perfect from first opening but mine required a few more relights than I like on the first smoke.

Like a walk in the woods
I picked this up along with Plum Pudding and Mississippi River. To me, Wild Man is similar but with a refreshing crispness and freshness, but with very interesting dimensions. Like a walk in the woods. I'm picking up a few more time of this because I don't want to ever be without this in my rotation.

Right tobacco, wrong name
This is an exceptional English blend with the right ingredients, taste and aroma. I know that Wild Man/Bigfoot/Sasquatch is a Pacific Northwest thing, but this name doesn't fit the tobacco. The name "Beaconsfield Inn, which is a lovely hotel in Victoria, BC, Canada, would be more suitable That is still the Pacific Northwest for the geographically challenged people. Bigfoot shouldn't be given any of this tobacco unless he is wearing a tweed suit. Either way, though, I plan to re-order this blend. I give it five stars for sure. I know that Seattle Pipe Club likes to name their offerings

Full bodied smoke!
Too much for a constant smoke, but GREAT for a pipe-full every so often.

Very good balance
This is a very well-balanced blend. I am really not an expert and don’t have a ton of experience with Latakia; however, I absolutely love this tobacco.

WILD,man,WILD
I couldn't think of a better name for this stuff. It reminds me a bit of Voodoo Queen, but milder, and more unpredictable. First bowl, I got the campfire smokey taste, then came a spicey peppery flavor, then like a tarter Balkan, then, toward the end, a creamy smoky English...Second bowl, same tastes, and more, but in different sequences, wow, what a trip! I put about a pinch in some reg. English, and it goes well. Really like the cake mix, can rub out as fine or as course as the mood strikes. Seattle P C, great job on this one. Remember, the Wild Man IS out there.

Wild, but not savage
Terrific blend to break up your normal, everyday blend.

Great smoke.
I normally don’t smoke pressed, just too much of a pain to prep. But it was worth it with this tobacco.

Excellent blend
This blend is fantastic. I love SPC, and this blend is a new favorite. Beautifully crafted, with excellent tastes that develop as you smoke it. I would easily recommend this without hesitation.

Its yummy
I got this on a whim as it was on sale and I was gonna pick up another tub of plum pudding anyways, so I figured why not. I have to say, this is another winner from SPC. I would say that the flavor profile is similar to plum pudding, but this one feels sweeter and brighter where as the plum p would be darker and rich. Personally I feel like the lat is milder than its brother, but its still very present. I feel I dont really have the words to be able to distinguish them better, but where as plum p would be reminiscent of a cold winter day sitting by a fireplace, wildman is more like a hike in the woods on a cool early spring morning. I've only had a few bowls of it so far, and I enjoy it very much. My batch benefited greatly from an hour of drying time out of the tub, but it came ready to be smoked. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy plum p. Well blanched and smooth.

sweet & spicy
Aged Virginia forward notes with the Latakia taking a back seat. Mild. Leaves a subtle sweetness on the tongue between puffs. Spicy, a touch of cinnamon. Pretty basic, nothing complex going on here. Would go good on a cool rainy morning with your favorite hot beverage. This would be a good tobacco for somebody new to the pipe or switching from aromatics.
