This is the basic pipe tool. One flat end to use as a tamper, the other with a scraper or spoon to clear the dottle from the bowl. They tend to disappear like socks in a dryer, so it's not a bad idea to pick up a handful so you always have spares on hand.
The large tamp area is ideal for getting a more uniform tamp on the ember unlike some of the smaller diameter tamps that some with pipe lighters...they will compress a small area of the ash/amber area and I find them to be not a very consistent tamp...these nail are simple and work excellent ...highly recommended !
These serve the purpose as a tamper and scraper. However I like having a punch like the 3-in-1 tools have because some times I pack my pipe a little too tight and that punch is perfect for opening up just a small hole. I will still keep these on hand, especially for traveling.
A simple must have for any pipe smoker. Buy lots as you might lose one or two to your mooching friends.
Nice little inexpensive tool. It was to my surprise slightly larger than expected. Not bad at all but I think I prefer the horseshoe tool.
It's simple and it works.
These things are really handy and inexpensive. I have several in a small wooden box on my desk, at all times. One of these and a small, sharp pocket knife are the only pipe tools I use.
Exactly what I was looking for at a great price. I bought the 4-pack. Let's face it we all lose pipe tools, at a dollar a piece, I won't lose any sleep when I do? The perfect pipe tool - cheap and simple.
They're pipe tools , a nail at that. Plain, simple pipe tool and very cheap. Go ahead and get a bunch.
This is my 5th one. I like these better than a Czech Pipe Tool.
I love these silver pipe nails. Cheap, light, and useful. If I lose one, I dont worry about it. I lose them all the time.
Love these! They make great handouts to new pipe smokers! You cant beat the price! Thanks!
