Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic is a long-time American favorite blend of Burley and Virginia tobaccos that are enhanced by the addition of three fine liqueurs from around the world. It has a pleasant room note and a mellow, slightly-sweet flavor that can be enjoyed all day long. This time-honored American classic is a relaxing tobacco leaving an intriguing taste on your palate. Try Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic or the regular blend, and see why this brand has been a big part of the US pipe smoking landscape for decades and save with P&C's low prices!
Clean, dry, wonderful experience. Can't find it locally, definitely worth the mail order. Lit well, burned well, smelled wonderful, nothing to complain about. I like Sir Walter original too. If I were limited to smoke two OTCs for the rest of my life it would be SWR and SWRA.
Good stuff! I like it much better than SWR regular. Lots of rich flavorful smoke, little or no bite, easy to keep lit, and leaves a nice room note. I'll be getting more of this. Home Run!
This is one of mine and my wives favorites, great room presence and smokes great. I always keep a large amount of this on hand stored in mason jars.
I bought some Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic upon the multiple recommendations. Light to moderate strength with tobacco flavor coming through very well. Nice room note and consistent through the bowl. Not my absolute favorite aromatic of all time, but I would rank it my #2 Drug Store Blend behind Captain Black Dark. Worth trying, and if I ran out of other tobaccos (unlikely to happen in about six lifetimes!!) I would buy this in a store. Classic American blend that's reasonably priced and a fairly good smoke.
I enjoy the aroma from burley and SWRA gives me that plus the Virginia adds the sweet and smoothness so it is not a biter. One can smoke this all day.
This is a great aromatic for any price. It has fruity notes to it. It's not to strong and not to light but just right.
If rich flavorful tobacco is what you're looking for SWR is not for you. There is almost no detectable flavor. It however smells very nice. If you want a very mild tobacco that you can smoke all day without any bite, I would reccomend SWR.
One of my favorite aromatic tobaccos!
Local Tobacco store is no longer going to carry SWR products so I got a 12oz tin for less than $1 per ounce. It smokes well, and smell unbelievably good in the tin. My sons will sniff the can when I lift the lid. It smells like my wife is baking for Christmas. The room note is like a warm house on a cold winter night. Money well spent.
This is the meat and potato of the pipe tobacco industry. I'm a big fan of english and areos alike and have a number of tins to choose from from one day to the next. But when it comes to my everyday smoke I look no further than SWRA. It is a dry smooth smoke, with just sweetness to cover that craving when you need it the most. For the price you cannot go wrong. I buy it by the can and once you are hooked on it you will too.
This was the first pipe tobacco I ever smoked and it still has a hold on me, I often revisit it. Though the flavor is good, it was very much improved after I put a pouch-full into a jar and let it sit in my dark closet for two months.
Added SWRA to a order of tobacco just for fun, haven't had it since 1976. I now remember why I liked this so much back then. Burns great and tastes great right to the bottom of the bowl. Everyone should give this a try.
This is my favorite OTC blend and im not a aromatic fan. Just enough flavoring to add to the taste of the tobacco not drown it , burns very well, taste good and leaves no goop in your pipe. Smokeable out of pouch or tin , moisture just right. Pleasent room note. Can smoke all day no worry of bite. I prefer it in a MM Cob. If you would like to try a aromatic and a beginner i highly recommend this. Add a little perique to this and its really outstanding!
A bit of a disappointment. It stores well and holds its moisture if you roll the pouch nice and tight. I am a dry but fast puffer, used the whole pouch taking each bowl to the very bottom (makes a beautiful clean ash - no gooey mess). It is hot and burns quickly (no bite). For any aromatic it is all about the flavor, the liquor flavor was not very sweet and has a moderately bitter aftertaste. I gave it a try and its just not for me.
Not bad, not bad at all for a pouch tobacco. Smells nice and it tastes okay. Not as good as some aromatics I've had.
