Why does it seem the replacement stems are higher quality plastic than the original?

i bought 2 of the bent mouthpieces both were serviceable but the quality was left a bit to be desired. neither stem was bent at the normal angle and one was crooked where the stem was inserted in the barrel of the pipe. they are only 79 cents...............

I have a Missouri Meerschaum "Little Devil" and a "Morgan". I love these little nose-warmers, but the regular Royal stems that these pipes come with sometime provide too hot a smoke for me. So, I decided to get a couple of the slim replacement stems and try them out on these pipes. They fit great and because they are longer, I get a noticeably cooler smoke, as I'd hoped. It is a plus that both pipes really look quite striking with these stems, too! If you have a "Little Devil" or "Morgan", give these stems a try. They're inexpensive, look great, and work well.

These are a little larger in diameter, just barely larger than the original stem on my MM, and fit snug to create a perfect seal. To me they seem a touch softer than the original as well, so they are more pleasant to bite down on in my opinion. Absolutely will purchase again, and recommend to friends.

You get what you pay for here. It is light and inexpensive. It will get the job done.

I purchased the slim bits for a cooler smoke as I sometimes smoke a little fast. They do a fine job providing that. However they are rather poorly constructed and don't really fit the best. All in all pretty good product at a great price

I have used the standard replacement stems , made of the same material . They will get one bye for a while . I find them too soft and small . I cannot say anything about the slim replacement stems other than they do not fit anything I own .

He is always happy with his order of pipe stems! He makes his own bowls and hates to pay more on S&H than on product. He will be a loyal customer.

These stems are great to have for the nonfilter Missouri Meerscham cobs. I like the amber look, and it also colors with use. I really like them on my smaller cobs that come with the short stems. It adds some length, looks better and makes for a cooler smoke than the short stems most of the nonfilter cobs come with. And the price is well worth giving them a try. Kudos to the great folks at P&C!

I thought it would work on a corn cob pipe but was too small. It was useless.

Equal in quality to the stems that come on the MM pipes. If you're like me, strong jaws, it's good to have spare stems on hand.

I bought this black stem to trade out with the amber stem on a couple of pipes. One of the Amber stems has a bend that catches the metal wire in a pipe cleaner when inserted. The other us a short nose warmer style stem that I like to lengthen. The stem fits both pipes great and adds some variety to the looks if a cob pipe.

The stem was very nice and shipping was fast. It did not fit the pipe we were hoping it would, but the stem itself is a good quality.

I use these stems on lots of old pipes. They have a nice feel and look good. It usually takes a bit of reaming, drilling and tweaking to get a good fit but I've saved dozens of old favorites.

Perfect. I bought the Bent Black replacement Stem to replace the standard (shorter) stem on my MM Eaton pipe - thus creating a tiny churchwarden style pipe.

Perfect! I ordered two of these replacement stems for two of my mini Meerschaurm hardwood pipes. Of course, I did need to drill out the shanks to fit the stems as they aren't meant to fit those pipes, but they fit perfect now and look good too. I also like the draw a lot better than with the smaller stems. Now I have a couple of nice mini lightweight clenchers with regular size stems to keep in my rotation for when I don't have time to sit and smoke a bigger bowl size.

For the price it is well worth it to grab a few of these when you order a MM Cob! These are the same stems that come with the pipes, and are ideal for replacement or customization. I like to have a little fun and put these long ones on my MM Eatons. Just make sure that you are buying the correct size for your pipe.
