If you like red Virginia tobacco, this one has it. Best that I can see, it's just red Virginia tobacco and nothing else. Not a whisper of bite in this tin. The honey topping is done with a very light hand and is not noticeable to my palate. Can be a slightly dry smoke. I find it is most enjoyable paired with tall glass of iced tea. This is a good smoke for a warm summer day on the porch with a pitcher of that tea I mentioned.

I love red Virginia's. If I see a blend with a lot of red Virginia's, I typically like it. Naturally, I like Interlude as red Virginia's are pretty much the only thing there. The honey topping felt very muted. To be honest, I couldn't even really detect it past the tin note. The tin note of honey was faint as well. It smokes wonderfully and delivers on all of the good things red Virginia's are known to be. Bread, sweetness, even a certain creaminess toward the end of the bowl. If you ever want to know what quality straight red Virginia pipe tobacco would be like, look no further. The only reason that I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I had hoped for a slightly stronger kick on this one. It turned out to me much milder kicking than I had hoped. The flavor profile is a solid 5 stars for being very good red Virginia's in this blend. Anyone who loves red Virginia tobacco should give this one a try. It's a simple blend, but the beauty is in this simplicity.

Not sure where the other reviewer got "coconut casing" from, but there is no top-note, flavoring, casing, of any kind on this tobacco. This is an all natural tobacco. Reminds me of Peter Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake.

My initial opinion of this blend was negative. The coconut casing was unusual to my taste buds. I think a year or two of aging will meld the flavors and produce an excellent aromatic flake with a deeper flavor profile.

We had this at our last pipe night at my shop. Favorable reviews all around. Some of my regulars are viginia blend fans and they loved it. I did find it a bit bitey near the bottom of the bowl.
