The bowl is a little smaller than I expected, so don't be fooled by the picture, but it smokes great and is light enough that I can clench it for a long time.
Great color (a little more brownish than red, but the red is in there) and very smooth to the touch.
No real complaints other than the size and color.

The Army Mount allows this pipe to be broken down at any time, even when still hot. The draw and retro look and feel are excellent.

Great value for a Stanwell. Stem can be used with other pipes that don't require a tenon. Don't have to worry about too tight or loose mouthpieces.

I have recently bought a model 246. The sandblast is typical of a stanwell; AWESOME, with its smooth rim. It has a very nice draft with the filter removed, and the stem is not too dificult to remove. The bottom line is that like all other stanwells I have messed with, this is a very nice pipe. Now, go buy one!!
