|Room Note||2 - Mellow|
Our friends at Sutliff have been on a roll, and have introduced a bunch of new blends this year. One of the most intriguing is the all-new Sutliff 1849. This is a premium-quality Virginia/Perique blend that's handsomely presented in a vacuum-sealed tin. If you love the sweet and tangy flavor of a good Va/Per, don't pass up this great new blend that costs a lot less than you'd expect. Sutliff 1849 is a winner.
The Virginia is soft and gently sweet, without much grassiness. The Perique shows a dark fruit side, without its notorious pinch. Good balance between the two. I never thought Sutliff would be able to compete with the boutique brands, but this blend does.
I'm getting to where I like these Virginia/Perique blends more and more. A nice tin aroma and room note.
I love Sutliff but they missed it on this one. I am a big Va/Per smoker and this one just doesn't do it for me. This is not to say that someone else wont like it its just not for me. It has a very harsh taste and tears up the tongue and burns the lip. But like I said there may be someone who thinks I am wrong cause everyone's tastes are different. The sutliff Virginia slices is a very nice tobacco. In a Va/per I chose peter stokkbye bullseye or H&H Virginia spice
