JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! What do you get when you take matured Virginias ranging from orange to red to brown and press and slice them? You get Sutliff Cringle Flake. This may be one of the easiest to prepare flakes we've ever seen as it breaks apart very easily. This is an incredibly complex tobacco considering that it's only made of Virginia. The overall character is bread and toast with an undercurrent of dark, dried fruit, earth, and a subtle vinegar note. This is a limited edition flake and the first commercially-released one they've ever made. Get your tin of Sutliff Cringle Flake before they're gone forever.

A gift from Saint Nick himself!
Really this was an outstanding seasonal release from Sutliff. It has all the tangy, spicy, dark fruit sweetness one would expect from a well prepared aged red Virginia. It’s not exactly a complex blend and remains consistent from start to finish, but none the less is an excellent experience.

Ok now, maybe better with age
Tin note is tangy with a sharp white vinegar bite. This is a tangy red Virginia flake. Rough and sharp but will probably smooth out and sweeten up with a few years rest.

Yes, Yes & Yes!!!
Not only did Sutliff hit a home run, but the bases were loaded too! Tin note is an instant hit of vinegar with all its tangy goodness. Let it breathe a bit and the Virginias start to give off their notes of woody, fruity, fermented goodness. Moisture was just at the most I care to have it. The broken flakes rubbed out easily and packed well. Lighting it was as expected for its moisture level. The tobacco is light to medium with the essence of dark and/or stewed fruits. As the bowl progresses the flavors become deeper and darker but never to the point of being harsh. From start to finish it is a smooth and pleasurable smoke. For my palette there was little to no bite. What bite I did experience is from puffing like a train for a moment and even then the bite was hardly there. Truly an excellent Virginia to smoke now and in the future as I plan to cellar what I can.
