Excellent mild English blend.
Very nice smooth smoking with no bite. Can smoke this all day! Smokes cool and dry. Pleasant room note. Little hard to get started but once you get it going it smokes slow and burns complete to the bottom of the bowl. Excellent mild English. Very tasty.

Nice mellow tobacco
I love the pleasant smoke news of this tobacco. It's a great after dinner and late evening smoke, but I can use it as an all day smoke as well. I really enjoy the Latakia content. Nice cool taste and a great volume of relaxing smokiness.

Worth a try!
It isn’t the best English that I ever had, but it is the best in it’s price range. Just let it dry out.

To me this is the best of the English varieties from Sutliff..Lavish English,Heavy English,..both are very good, less smoky....Majestic is more pronounced as an English blend..I'll purchase this again..

American English
This is the one. I usually purchase eight ounces at a time, which last me about two to three weeks. Needless to say I smoke quite a bit of this blend. Sutliff Majestic English has all the wright amounts of the great tobaccos. Burns slow and even to the bottom of the bowl. Absolutely no bite, great taste snd room note. Can't beat the price or the service ;-}

Good stuff
Good smoke . Nice change of pace from my normal English blend . This is less bold for me and has a special place in my rotation. Good stuff for burley lovers. -----fordsmokingpipes

A nice smooth, very gentle English-type of smoke.
I like this tobacco. It is similar to Holiday Mixture and Scotty's Stonewall Tobacco, but a tad more mild. Like those two tobaccos, this ia a good all-day smoke.

Nice enough
Very nice but not as nice as "Pure English" or Sutliff's No. 5.

As car as I'm concerned, all English is pipe master. This especially sweet.

As much Glycol as Tobacco...
This product is difficult to review. It contains so much humectant, it is almost impossible to dry-out enough to get a decent smoke. I had the same issue with Sutliff Lavish and with a few other Sutliff products as well. This may be a quality control problem or something else; no matter; I may have to upgrade to a brand with a higher standard. I had hoped for better.

A mild Latakia English that burns well with no tongue bite. To me it is a step up to other mild Latikia blends. Enjoyable smoke!

Awesome smoke
Great stuff I just had my first pipe full, when I read the description I knew I was going to like it so I ordered a pound now I'm thinking I want more, defiantly something to cellar.

A great beginner's english.
With the death of Frog Morton, I have been trying to find something that can fill the void in my heart. This is, sadly, not it. Where Frog Mortin was a punch in the mouth with a piece of BBQed meat, this is more like the smoke of a small campfire. It starts off very mild and builds to a medium bodied english as you get near the end of the bowl. If you've been wanting to try an english for the first time or want a milder english you can smoke in public without offending 99% of the people around you, this is the one. It's subtly spicey light BBQ tasting smoke turns to a woody incense smell when in the air. I cannot speak for the nic strength as it is so low I could not notice it. I would put it way below Autum Evening, since that is the only blend in recent memory that I've notice the nic in. This stuff came perfectly moist and threw it bag and all in my humidor to keep with no issues. You could do far worse than this tobacco and it is a shame not many people have reviewed it on other websites like they have the bigger names.

Woody English
OK smoke. Much more woody that overwhelms the licorice and ginger in taste/aroma than the Medium English. I prefer the Medium English a lot better.

Paradise Regained
My favorite blend of all time, virtually identical to one a tobacconist friend created 50 years ago. After he died, I spent many years looking to duplicate his mixture and Sutliff Majestic English is the same only better. For me, a double-dyed devotee of English blends, this is sheer perfection.

Sutliff Majestic English
This just came in the mail today. Packed my Road Town Briar and away I went. I find this to be very smooth with a bit of sweetness and spice, no tongue bite and i'm a heavy puffer. Could use a little more Latakia. Compared to Peter stokkebye Luxury 17 which I enjoy, I give them 5 *****. I will be buying some bulk Latakia to give a little more UMPH!!! Will be buying more of both.

"Better With Time"
Back in March of 2013 I purchased several ounces of Majestic English with the total plan of just "cellaring" it. I enjoyed a bowl or two back then, put it in a Mason jar and away it went. I decided to pull it out today and man oh man, age has made this an even better smoke than before. As I understand over time our palates change and taste as well, but this is a fine, medium-bodied English. It's a tobacco that should be enjoyed slowly, as if you smoke it too fast the bite can be vicious. Smoky, spicy and a very subtle natural sweetness makes this a great day long tobacco. It finishes well, with just a slight aftertaste and it's very pleasing to the palate. No issues lighting and keeping it lit, the room note is somewhat musty, but it's a English blend. Nice for the intermediate or well experienced piper.

Sutliff Majestic English Blend
This is a very pleasant blend, not to strong or weak. No bite whatsoever, can be smokes all day. Wonderfull taste and room note. Wether your a novice smoker of english blends or if you have been smoking english blends for years, try Sutliff Majestic English. You won't be sorry! This in my opinion is one of the best. Great price as well. Thank you Sutliff, you've hit the nail on the head. P.S You might also want to try Sutliff's Medium and Heavy english blends as well.

Just my style
Many years ago I went to some lengths to come up with the pipe tobacco blend I preferred, and having just returned to the joys of the pipe, I find my tastes have not changed. In other sensory experiences I almost always prefer simple and direct. A smoky old malt with a splash of spring water, peach ice cream homemade with fresh fruit, sauteed red snapper cheeks and throats, Arkansas Black apples -- like that. But with pipes and cigars I lean toward complexity, and this blend matches my long-ago mixture, with each component contributing its essential flavor without muddling the others.

A Well-Balanced English Blend
You can't go wrong with Sutliff; I've never had a blend I didn't like from them. This one has just the right amount of Latakia in it that, unlike with some non-aromatic blends (a lot, actually), it doesn't overwhelm the other flavors. The other tobaccos play well together, making for a blend that tastes quintessentially English. In fact, the reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because it doesn't quite feel like it has its own character, apart from that hint of Latakia in the background. With that said, though, it does what it sets out to do very well. It's also a very smooth smoke; if I get tongue bite, it's because I packed my pipe wrong and am puffing more frequently to keep it from going out. By the way, this tobacco is a bit easier to pack with the Frank Method (look it up, it's a life saver!) than more crumbly tobaccos. The longer cuts help keep everything together. Gravity-feeding the bowl takes a bit more effort, but the thick pinch you plug the top of the bowl with holds together beautifully. If you want a representation of your basic English blend (with a hint of Latakia) that gives you no hassle when filling your bowl, look no further. Majestic English is the genuine article.

Majestic English
Lush, moist tobacco burns long and smoothly. Don't pack it too tightly, or lance a couple holes in bowl load. I would buy it again, hi quality straight forward but smooth blend.

Very Nice Blend
Found it to be similar to the Sutliff Medium, but a little lighter in strength. Great more the warmer months.
Customer Testimonials
While I enjoy latakia in my smoke, I'm less fond of the perique. It influences the flavor a great deal more than I would have expected with it's spicy nuances. If that's what you like, you may enjoy this.
EB of Philippi, WV
Still new to trying english tobaccos I shyed away from blends containing perique. Now I don't know why I was intimidated. I found this to be a very smooth and cool smoke. I'll be trying some more blends now that have perique. Two thumbs up!
