Sutliff Private Stock Barbados Plantation is a smooth aromatic blend made of sweet, bright Virginias, earthy white Burleys and Sutliff's signature black Cavendish. It's finished with the enticing flavor of tangy Barbados rum. The flavor is nicely sweet and the aroma in truly amazing. Get swept away to the tropics with Barbados Plantation.
I am new to pipe smoking and this was one of the first aromatics I picked up. It smoked cool, I didn't have any problem with mouth bite and the flavor was lovely. My fiance' also enjoyed the smoke since the smell was sweet and fragrant.
Coming from the owner of Moonshine Pipe Co, this is my FAVORITE BLEND. It smokes cool, doesn't bite, and has a mouth watering tin note of sweet rum. Buy this blend!
Delicious, good room note, no bite, I recommend it. Loose flakes, but they pack well and burn evenly.
I have smoked many of the Sutliff Private Stock blends and all are very good smokes. Barbados Plantation is no exception! Right out of the can and into the pipe it had a good aroma. Lite it up, fine aroma, fine taste, and very satisfying to both nose and tounge. No burn or funky aftertaste, just a good smoke. Will most definitely put this one in my aromatic rotation. 4 out of 4 on this
Definitely a very sweet aromatic. Tin note is enchanting. Tobacco is very moist, I've had it setting out uncovered for 48 hours thus far and hasn't seemed to want to dry any. As is, it is smoking dry though. Richness of flavor and a nice heavy smoke. Room note matches the tin note - very pleasing, almost delectable. Burns surprisingly cool for a blend that obviously has a lot of top dressing. No bite, with a nice clean aftertaste that lingers pleasantly. Silvery grey ash, burns right down to the bottom. Doesn't seem to over-heat, even when pushed a bit. Slower smoking definitely brings out more flavor though. True for most all blends - very true with this one. I'm not a big smoker of aromatics, but, I'll probably keep this one around for those times I want something sweet. Thus far, every Sutliff I have tried has been pleasing, some extremely pleasing. This one falls into the extremely pleasing, for an aromatic category. For the price and quality, it's 5 stars.
Bought some of this while on the road only to find it $3.00 cheaper here on P&C! Lesson learned: can't beat P&C prices!! The blend is very mild and pleasant with no bite and no harsh after taste. I expected the rum to make it taste a little stronger, but it is very mild. Burns nicely and stays lit. A new favorite for me, and I would highly recommend it to new pipe smokers looking for something mellow and mild.
Received it in a Tobbaco of the Month Club box (highly recomend that service), this subtle and inoffensive smoke has just the right feel with a touch of spice and sweetness. It's become a staple smoke of mine. Nearly run down a tin and it's only the start of the next month! Well, luckily more good smokes are coming my way soon.
I happened upon this one at cigar shop that had a selection of different Sutliff Private Stock tins. The tobacconist recommended the Barbados Plantation as mild, sweet smelling aromatic with no bite. He's wasn't wrong. It has become one of my favorites. It has a rich and smokey aroma, yet mild with a sweet rum finish. My wife loves the smell. And best of all... no bite.
So I was skeptical about this blend. I ordered it along with a Missouri Meerschaum Legend pipe and Savinelli 6mm balsa filters. Magic was born. I like truly sweet aromatic smokes and this didn't disappoint. Best part was the cob and filter combo eliminated all wetness and made my experience dry and oh-so-sweet.
Barbados rum (Mt. Gay) and diet coke.... A staple for years. Now a surprisingly good rum flavored tobacco. Bring on the warm weather and the Tiki Hut !!!!!!!!
