Lost treasure found
Smooth rich smoke. Five stars, but don’t try it, I would hate to have to not be able to find it due to popularity.

A harmony well sung
typically a kitchen sink type blend has too many flavors crowding the lead, however, Russ has a masterpiece with this harmony of baccy. I have no idea how he got all these different tobacco to work so well together! Needless to say that i will be buying more of this delicious blend.

Love the flavor and smokiness of this blend. May be my new favorite.

Taste good
It's not strong, scary or a nic bomb but it does taste good. I really do like the addition even though small of Kentucky. Makes me want to try more Kentucky with perhaps perique and burly and sweet virginia. All American blend. Any ways, moisture level hit the sweet spot and I've enjoyed smoking this as a alternative to my Balkans and English blends.

A good smoke
I have smoked cigars for years, then I tried the pipe recently. I was about to give up on it due to lack of taste bulk tobacco I was getting from a local shop, then I found Cottons Smyrna and it sold me on the pipe. I have tried many other similar blends but Smyrna is still one of my all time favorites.

Smyrna
Tasty, though a bit dry. Pleasing, woody note.

It's decent
Nothing crazy, decent smoke. Was a little dry when received. Like right at the point of being too dry and perfect. Dried out in a mason jar over a week or 2. It is also comprised of a lot of crumbly bits. So expect a little flake or two in your mouth.

Trying different smokes
I find it a quality smoke but lacks the body and punch I prefer Still in search of a reliable replacement for Dunhill Early Morning

Good for a beginer
I am a beginer and it has a mild and easy smoke.

Different than I remember
Pleasant enough smoke but not as I remember the original. Unfortunately the tin I received was way too dry, I resurrected it but by then had lost any subtleties it might have had. Not a repeat.

Love this tobacco.
Out of all the blends I have tried so far, John Cotton's Smyrna is by far the best. Love the smokiness and spice this blend has; perfectly balanced. So, if you're into blends that remind you of a campfire, this is it.

H&H doesn't disappoint
Late in the afternoon, when I'm feeling a little tired and jaded, this is my go-to tobacco in a medium-bowl pipe. It's calming and just rich enough to pull me through the rest of the day. It's all subjective, of course, but I appreciate the taste and room smell to get me to the point where I can go home for a nice dinner.

Looking for comfort after a loss.
Losing the McClelland Grand Orientals blends was a blow. I’ve turned to several alternative sources of comfort. John Cotton’s Smyrna is a comfort-laden blend for any lover of oriental blends.

Perfection
This is my #1. H&H tobaccos are the best suited to my taste, and this is my favorite of the series. I love the flavor of Latakia and this has plenty of it, yet the supporting cast adds the ideal amount of complexity to keep it interesting and completely satisfying. As always, the quality is top drawer. A perfect blend.

A full flavored English blend that smokes cool and won't disappoint.
This blend is largely a combination of condiment tobaccos but they meld together very well to provide a fairly unique pipe experience. The tin notes are smokey campfire and leather but the latikia is not as strong as you might expect upon lighting. The Turkish/Oriental shines through without being overbearing while the dark fired Kentucky brings smokey/nutty undertones and fuller flavor. The Perique adds some peppery spice which rounds out the blend nicely. Mild/Med Nic hit. Smokes cool and won't bite, no drying time needed from tin, ribbon cut and packs nicely, needs few relights, and flavor stays consistent throughout the bowl. Not an all day smoke but one you can appreciate more than once a day. 4.5 stars.

Bold & Brilliant
I’ve smoked through about half the tin at this point, and I must say I’m impressed. For me, the most notable features at the start of a bowl of Cerberus are, of course, the Latakia and dark-fired Kentucky, with a firm undercurrent of oriental. It’s not until about midway through the bowl that the Perique begins to move out of subtlety and really shine. By the end of the smoke, everything coalesces into pure Balkan brilliance! This blend is, in my humble opinion, not for the beginner, due to its intricacy and depth; that said, it is a great test case for those who wish to refine their palates. Overall, I consider this a go-to for a cold, winter’s night of contemplation.

Nostalgic
nostalgic to me because my Nanu smoked a pipe and this one was of my favorite smells growing up that and a Cherry tobacco. In My thirty's I decided to try cigars and then pipe smoking and stumbled on this by accident and the aroma brought back all those warm cozy memories and I buy it when ever I can to think of my wonderful grandparents. After I realized I bought something my Nanu had around all the time I smoke it in honor of him. Sure miss Nanu and Nana.

Still one of my top choices!
Working my way through PC selection of "English" blends. I find that I am reordering Cerberus and Larry's blend the most. Living is an area with no Cigar or Tobacco shops I must rely on the Internet. IMHO P&C has an extensive selection of tobacco, bulk, tins and pouch online. Now if they restocked Falcon pipes and bowls I wouldn't have to jump to different sites.

Hearth & Home all the Marquee series
I finished smoking all series tobaccos including white knight and black house. Excellent blends my choice are all I found them to satisfy my taste for English blends. However; the manufacturer should provide these blends and series in bulk as well as tins.

Outstanding smooth and smokey mix.
My previous everyday smoke was Frog Mortons on the Town, I can now confidently say that Smyrna has taken its place, this mix is smooth and has an outstanding smokey Latakia taste, if you love Latakia and you love your tobacco to have the leathery, smokey flavor and aroma ... this is it. As an added bonus the cut of this tobacco makes it great for rolling as well, so if you like to roll pipe tobacco this is a great choice as well. All I can say is try it, its not for everyone but those that like it will really like it.

Start of an obsession.
Definitely one of my favorite blends. The first tins I got were filled with the most spice type flavor of perique I have ever tasted. This is the tobacco that started my obsession with perique. Medium to full, as many English blends are, but not harsh. Will report back when a buddy and me pop my tin that's been aging since 2012.

Cerberus... Not for me.
I didn’t really care too much for Cerberus. I do enjoy Latakia blends. Hearth & Home’s Ten to Midnight is my favorite nightly smoke. I suspect it’s probably the flavor of whatever Orientals they use in Cerberus that I don’t care for. There seems to be a lot of different Oriental and Turkish tobaccos out there. The tins don’t always state which particular Orientals are included in each particular blend and there seems to be good reason for that. From what I’ve read in various articles, the pipe tobacco world of Oriental tobacco is confusing and inconsistent at best. We as consumers can only imagine the struggle Master Blenders must go through in trying to keep the flavor of their most popular Oriental blends consistent and affordable. For me Cerberus tastes similar to Cornell & Diehl’s Star of the East. It’s possible they may have similar types of Orientals. If you’ve tried and enjoyed Cornell & Diehl’s Star of the East then you should give Cerberus a try.

This was excellent, and I will certainly be buying it again. If you have any interest in latakia's, you've gotta give this a try.

Spicy Turkish/Balkan. Love it.
I love this tobacco, but I blend it with 10% Larrys blend! Jc symrna is a great light Turkish blend by itself, but with the Larry's in there it takes over the top in terms of fullness, and also adds an extra exotic spiciness to it. I call it Ernie's blend. If you like full balkans you can put more larrys to your taste. Still oriental/turkish forward in spice. If you like white knight then you'll like this, though not as hot as white knight. Don't stop making this one. I wish it came in bulk.

Smiles for Smyrna
I love this smoke. Much different than my many other tins I have in three 5-gallon buckets. This habit is becoming quit a compulsive one. But I digress. While this isn't really a "tobacco term" I imagine, this smoke seems more "pure tobacco" with a fuller flavor, great light, consistent burn, and no bite that I get from some aromatics. It's a great, solid smoke and I would recommend it as a nice addition to your tobacco line-up. I find my "go-to" tobaccos to be ever changing and I always go back to Penzance but have to save what I have to last until the next batch becomes available. I smoke this one often as I head up into the hills with my dogs as I am drinking coffee and trying to wake up:)

Great stuff!
I love this stuff! I'm a Frog Morton Cellar guy and this tops that. It is a bit strong so it's my outside relaxing at the end of the day blend. Wife likes the smell also!

A good Balkan.
In my opinion, Smyrna is a good, but not a great, Balkan. There is no fault in the selection and preparation of the constituent tobaccos, but an absence of strength and presence that are the hallmarks of a great Balkan. One may smoke a bowl of Smyrna and, after a sufficient interval, smoke one of Peter Stokkebye's Balkan Supreme or other five star Balkan to appreciate the difference. A good effort, nonetheless.

John Cotton's Smyrna
I love this tobacco. It is not as overpowering as some other styles yet it is powerful enough. If you like Frog Morton or Gaslight types you will love this and this won't knock you out; but, it will send you on a great ride.

John Cotton's is Back!
I smoked a lot of this a long, long time ago and was sad when it became unavailable. I was not confident when I ordered that this would be close to the original. After lighting up, I am completely on-board. Although it doesn't seem to have the same nose in the tin; when smoked I'm taken back to the 70's to my first few bowls as a newbie pipe smoker. Now I'm sold and will be stocking multiple tins in case John Cotton's disappears again. Thanks for the effort guys, I had no idea this tobacco meant so much to so many!

darn
Kind of a let down for me. It sounds like it's supposed to be exploding with flavor but it's kinda mild to me. The flavor I did get was good, just not enough. If I could give it 3.5 I would. But definitely didn't deserve a 4.

Selling England by the Pound
This is a nice English blend, it seemed to have all the necessary elements in place, but I did not enjoy it as much as, say McClelland Arcadia, Frog Morton or the recent "Russ's Experimental Blend No. 61". It lacked bearing in the middle of the smoke (about 10-12 minutes in) and seemed to run out of flavor sooner than most of my go-to English mixtures. The contents of my tin also arrived a bit dry, surprising since it is a new re-introduction; I would have thought freshness was not an issue. Good, not great, maybe I should try one of the other John Cotton revivals.

John Cottons Smyrna
The John Cotton's Smyrna is the reason for my decision to start smoking a pipe again. It has a flavor that is a smidge of boldness but never over baring. The latika in this is evident upon expelling the smoke from my mouth , ( Very Pleasant and relaxing ). Even though I prefer to smoke a stronger tobacco I will always have a tin of John Cottons Smyrna in my smoking room .

Order received in good shape
Since I bought the Smyrna for cellaring, not a lot to report. A fine blend, had some at the West Coast PS. And plan on opening in a year, though I may do an intermediate tin or two.

Nice smoke, but.....
It is good, but really didn't "do it" for me. Just didn't find it had much flavor, although it was smooth it seemed a little flat. Maybe I was having a bad smoke day.

Marquee Cerberus
I am not a huge fan of English blends, but I do enjoy them every couple of days. I cannot remark on the various tobaccos in this blend, but I found the taste to be very pleasant. It s a cool and flavorful smoke. The best English I have had.

Pipe Hearth & Home package deal
I have always enjoyed Hearth and Home tobacco and was surprised to see a pipe package deal with 3 Hearth & Home tobacco including a lighter and a package of pipe cleaners. The pipe is beautiful. A little tight around the stem, but i used my dremel tool to bore the hole just a bit in the pipe and placed a little food grease on the stem. Now the pipe is not super tight and I can actually rotate it to my needs in different positions. To me the pipe is an A+. It would have a AAA+ if the stem was a little softer and not so hard. The lighter worked the first time I put butane in it and is also a Plus. I will keep ordering through Pipes & Cigars. Glad you guys are around. Looking forward to trying different brands and flavors. John Cotton's Smyrna
John Cotton's Smyrna is an oriental blend comprised of mostly longer thin ribbon cut tobacco. The components are visually some light tan, mostly brown and some short black ribbon. The moisture level is perfect out of the tin and ready to smoke. This blend is medium in flavor and is smooth and fairly creamy. The dominant flavor is toasty like a heavily roasted nut with a moderate musty pungence. There is a constant interplay between a sour note and the sweetness of the virginias. The sour note is usually present with the sweetness sometimes coming forward and replacing it. There is a sustained constant level of sweetness to the smoke. There is often a spicy and floral flavor that punches forward, but usually stays in the background. There is a slight smokiness that fills out the foundation of the flavor profile and comes with a slightly woody taste. Towards the end of the bowl the flavor mellows out and becomes a bit more smokey. Overall I found this to be a pretty complex blend and very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this blend since it is flavorful and interesting without any harshness or overbearance.

A very nice smoke. One of my favorites.

Smooth and well-balanced tobacco. Delicious.
Absolutely delicious and well-balanced tobacco. The Latakia supports the Virginias and Turkish tobaccos, adding complexity. Very smooth and well-integrated tobacco. I'll definitely get more.

Reminds me a bit of tamarind.
Yes, it's good. Very good. The initial taste is mostly latakia, but that soon fades a bit, and becomes less dominant as the other components emerge. The result is smokey, musty, tart, with a perfect amount of sweetness. As someone who smokes cigarettes and uses snus, I'm not the best judge of nicotine content, but I find this to be very easy and enjoyable to smoke even though it's bold and spicy. Great value, too!

Cerberus by Hearth and Home
Just opened the tin today. Initial aroma is very smoky as I expect. This tin seemed to be dryer than most English tins. Easy to light and burn. Packed lightly in two different pipes, it is a good smoke but even though I have been a pipe smoker since about 1967, I have never liked a lot of Perique. If you like Spicy, which is what I get so far, this one is for you. In the Marquee Series, I am a fan of WhiteKnight.

ThIs is my favorite pipe tobacco, I try to smoke the other ones that I have but this is 100 times better in comparison. It smells fantastic and have a very strong taste.

Three pats on the head to Cerberus!!!
A wonderful smokey blend, full of flavor that reminds me of sitting around the campfire. The Dark Fired Kentucky is the real star here, with the Perique making a great cameo appearance throughout the bowl. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly suggest you do.
