Umbagog is a new release from Steve Saka's Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust that brings you a more affordable version of one of his most popular cigars - Mi Querida.
Steve's really fussy about quality, so a lot of the wrapper leaf, in this case Connecticut Broadleaf, gets rejected. But a lot of that tobacco is really good and has a lot of flavor, although Steve refers to it as "ugly". So while Umbagog might not be the prettiest stick in your humidor, it delivers the same kind of experience as its more expensive "cousin" for a lot less coin. You'll get the familiar dark chocolate/coffee notes, along with wood, baking spices and pepper, but you'll save some bucks and still have a very tasty cigar.
