While this isn't the WESSEX I remembered from my "youth" [which was an aromatic], I am pleased with the flavor. It has a blend of the traditional blends of an English, with just enough Latakia or Perique to give it the expected "bite" and aroma that distinguishes English blends.

As good as I remembered ....

I was first introduced to Wessex tobacco back in the late '80s, when I worked at a "localized" tobacco shop in Annapolis, MD. At that time, it was in a small rectangular tin and the various blends were denoted by color. So when I saw Wessex Premier, I wondered if it was the same as I enjoyed when I was much younger; happily for me, it is. The round tin is easier to fill a pipe from and the taste/aroma is as superb as I remember. Definitely worth trying if you are a aficionado of aromatics ...
