The Celebrated Bengal Slices was a cult favorite blend, originally made by the House of Sobranie. It was a crumble cake made of Latakia, top-grade Virginias, the finest Orientals, some black Cavendish, and finished with a subtle, singular top note. It went through two more manufacturers before disappearing. Many people had fond memories of this unique blend, so a group acquired the trademark and approached our own Russ Ouellette to recreate the blend. Using the research he had done for his Hearth & Home Marquee Fusilier's Ration, the memories of this blend that he often enjoyed, and armed with material gathered about the original blend, he developed the current version that has met with great acclaim and has become a best seller.
In 2019, we've added a new member to the family - Bengal Slices White. This blend is also a crumble cake and it has a bit less Latakia than the Original, but it uses the same Orientals and Virginias without any added flavoring. It has a bright flavor and aroma and has such a clean finish that it can be enjoyed before a meal without interfering with your ability to taste your food.
