At this stage, I'm not deep into virginias...but this is a good smoke. i suspect it will be better come spring time when the weather is nice

I have always been an English smoker, but this wonderful blend has changed that. While I will still reach for English regularly, this has become my go-to favorite. It boasts a depth that is unlike any blend I have smoked, rich dark fruit with sweet yeasty bread. I am sold and will be keeping it on hand.

This is a delicious pipe tobacco. Hits all the checks. Sweet, tangy, hints of maple and spices. Perfect.

Escudo in a different wrapper. But I love Escudo so that's OK!

In my humble opinion this is the best vaper on the market. Sweet, rich and smooth. Never had a bad bowl and I always keep it cellared. Top shelf stuff here

One of my favorite blends with an enjoyable, lasting flavor. A must try for those experimenting with various tobaccos.

This blend is my go to for an every day blend! Little pricey to do that with but the amount of flavor that it packs , it is worth it! A beautiful woodiness and rum make this blend feel as if I'm a sailor on the open sea

Really mello great tasting combination of natural tobaccos

My favorite "mild" vapur, bought 4 tins to cellar. Highly recommended as an intro to vapurs or an every day smoke.

As noted in "headline" and always open to recommendations for better Virginia's

I also really like Escudo but this one slightly edges Escudo out for me - it's notably more luxuriant

This blend speaks for itself. Buy some for yourself and find out. You won't be disappointed.

Bought a tin and just reordered 3 more. That should be self explanatory.

Just had my 5th Nirvana smoke ever thanks to this blend. Perfectly packed this smokes slow. Excellent, rich and creamy bready smoke for me from start to finish. Definitely recommend!

The tobacco was a bit dry and somewhat harsh. I was disappointed dive this stuff is not cheap. I ordered this at the same time that I ordered Oscudo Navy Roll. Oscudo was a lot better. It had more moisture without harshness and also cheaper. I was always impressed with the quality of Peterson, but not this time. I would not buy it again. I will stick with Oscudo!!

I was hoping to have found a Virginia that was possibly even tastier and sweeter than Orlik Golden Sliced...I'm almost addicted to that wonderful pasture hay taste and smell. Unfortunately this Peterson Navy Roll just didn't come very close at all. I found it almost more like a burley than anything. It would be right at home in a RYO cigarette, but I'm afraid it won't go in my pipe(s) ever again.

By far one of my most favorite tabaccos. I got a few tins of Peterson and a beautiful Nording pipe from my parents as a grooms gift. This was the blend I wanted to break in the new pipe with. First, the ritual of breaking down the rolls, or folding and stuffing them; it adds to the enjoyment of smoking a pipe to me. When I lit it up the flavors came immediately. There’s a fig-like sweetness to it in the background, a natural sweetness. The stand out flavors are a light woodsy taste, and a hay or soil like aroma. It reminds me of a very special clearing in the forest behind my childhood home I used to hang around at with my father. When I smoke this blend, it brings me back there very clearly, I associate that with the taste. Which is why I said this is hands down one of my favorite tabaccos I’ve ever had.

Peterson De luxe Navy Roll: Upon popping the tin, the fragrance of this tobacco was immediately attractive and pleasing. Subtle Virginia scents mixed with a hint of sweetness and even an echo of melange. The rolls we’re nicely laid out in the tin and had what seems to me to be the perfect moisture content. I rubbed out about 2 1/2 rolls and packed my pipe. The initial chairing light brought forth a subtle aroma that definitely got me excited for what was to come. This tobacco lit easy and stayed lit, providing me with a relaxing experience. An experience of which I was able to really lean back and contemplate the subtle notes and experience what this tobacco offered.
The smoke is not overly heavy and not overly fragrant, but does have unique distinctions at the forefront and in the aftertaste. I definitely felt the smoke on my tongue and the nicotine levels were mild, but definitely present. The smoke never got too heavy during the length of the bowl. I would say it maintained its poise and general balance through and through. Over all a very nice tobacco and one that I think should be experienced by fans of Peterson’s blends and Virginia’s in general.

A great tobacco, this tobacco is similar to Peterson's Flake but has some perique in it which gives it a different flavor slightly sweet and slightly spicy. leaves a great room note, if you like non aromatics this is a good choice along with flake, they do have a very unique scent when you smell the tobacco in the tin, almost smells flavored but thats from the pressing and aging.

I like trying new tobaccos. I wanted to try one that came in coins. This did not disappoint. Sorry for others who like this but I'm going to stock up on these for my next order. A+ rating here

So far this is my favorite VaPer. Notes of sweet plum, raspberries, and a hint of brown sugar. Smoking it is not too complex-- simply roll the coin flakes into a ball to pack your pipe, light, and enjoy. Easy, delicious, smoke.

I’ve never smoked this around someone who didn’t say “wow that smells good, what is that?” I don’t have a “favorite” tobacco... but if I had to pick one to smoke for the rest of my days I’d have a hard time giving this up for sure.

Pleasant smoke. A little hard to light when just folded into the pipe bowl, but burns well when rubbed out.

Always has been 1 of my favorite smokes. It takes a bit of work to get a good pack. If your not tamping it down once your loaded in, you will not achieve a nice pack. I twist the coins and place about 4 in a freehand pipe. Big bowl on my RP Capri pipe. Makes about 1/2 bowl once tamped down after false light.

As with all Dunhill tobacco, it is wonderful and I greatly enjoyed it.
A mild smoke but not too mild, well balanced and rich with a lovely room note that everyone seemed to enjoy. I would certainly recommend it.

Great full flavored va-per! Richer than Escudo. I like both.

While I don't quite understand their premium price over the other Dunhill tobaccos, I'm putting down all the tins I can just in case production is truly discontinued. So, quit buying it and save it for me.

Toss up between this and Dunhill's Dark Flake. If you like VaPer both are 5*+

A very good navy roll. Mild body, medium in strength, not very rich in taste. A bit on the sweet side, tastes earthen (though may be the grassy flavor of the Virginias), gets a little stronger while smoking, almost no pepper.

smoked this for several years and finally eased up on the puffing. NOW it really comes through. It would be even more tasty with a bit more of the real stjames parish Perique. Should have gotten a lot more when I first bought it, can't have enough of it.

I am new to pipe smoking, so I have experimented with eight or nine different pipe tobaccos. The Dunhill De Luxe Navy Roll has been the most enjoyable to date. I may make this my main smoke.

Burned well. Tasted no perique. Was ok but I can do better for the price. Probably won't repurchase.

This is a very good, easy smoking, no bite tobacco.

Wonderful VaPer a bit better than escudo in a side by side comparison. Some people claim they are the same but the tin note is a bit different and I don't get sour gross notes with DNR like I get with escudo. Is it worth the extra cash? Why not?

Great tin note and smokes great. One of my favorite VaPer blends

Absolutely fantastic tobacco! If you are a Flake fan of any sort, this is one to place in your wish list. Easy and gentle yet flavorful treat for anytime of the day. The medallions make for portable and convenient ready to fold or rub tobacco for your pipe on the go or at home. Certainly lives up to the Dunhill name.

Oh My Goodness, how exceptionally boring this was. Tried it several times in several different pipes, boring beyond belief, smooth, tasteless boring nothingness, makes a guy want to break out a good cigar. There are certainly some tasty Dunhill pipe tobaccos, this sure wasnt one for me, not bad or unpleasant in any way, simply bland and boring. And thats enough of that.
The Davidoff version is superior by light years, but that should be expected.

Wonderful tobacco!

Probably my favorite Virginia/perique blend,I love Escudo, luxury bull's-eye coins and luxury flake as well as many other blends but this is the one I order if I want to treat myself, the only downside is a little more expensive, so I do enjoy all the other va/per blends mentioned above more frequently but if I'm ever in a mood for something special I order another tin of this. Sweet, rich, dark. Just a very good blend, if you enjoy Virginia and perique blends then for sure give this one a try you won't be disappointed.

Dunhill DeLuxe Navy Rolls is smoother and fuller than Elisabethan Mixture, better balanced than Escudo, and is the best VaPer I’ve ever tasted. The price is a little steeper than others, but this blend is worth a little extra. VaPers are not my every day smoke, so I can afford to pay a little more for an occasional treat. Wonderful.

This is a wonderfully fragrant tobacco. Burns well when rubbed out (not so much when I tried folding and stuffing). It’s pricey, but very good.

Upon opening a tin of Dunhill's De Luxe Navy Roll, one is greeted by a wonderful aroma of fresh hay and plums. The tobacco is neatly arranged in medium-dark, uniform slices that can be folded and stuffed or easily rubbed out. Like most rolls, one match lighting is not really an option but once lit the smoke is smooth and mellow. The hint of plum carries over into the smoke but slightly. If using the fold and stuff method, the tobacco will require a bit more attention to keep lit but will not burn too fast and hot on windy days so it's my first choice for taking to the duck blind. Rubbed out it smokes effortlessly and will reward you with great volumes of creamy smoke. The taste as I mentioned retains a touch of plum but is primarily just a no frills, excellent Virginia.

This stuff is great! I really enjoy the tin note. It smells like plums and sweet hay. The flavor is sweet and relaxing. Seems like the nicotine can get you if smoked too fast or on an empty stomach. All in all solid blend that I think as long as it's around will be in the rotation. Reminds me of Escudo quite a bit.
