Such a great one and one of my favorites. Tired it in different pipes and I like it best in the Peterson Donegal Rocky XL90. Seems to be just right for this tobacco.

I enjoy trying new blends. It helps to broadened my experience. I am experimenting with English blends and wanted to try some of the best selling ones like Peterson Nightcap. It has a nice earthy aroma and not too bitter taste to leave too much of an unpleasant aftertaste.

Very flavorful. Smooth and relaxing. Enjoyable buy.

What a pleasurable smoke! I smoke it several times a day. I wish it were in bulk.

I like this mixture. It smoke well and has plenty of flavor. It is a nice smoke to enjoy once a day in the evening.

Very mild and like all Peterson products well made

Slow burn, good taste, and good room note.
5 out of 5
Extremely flavorful, classic lat-bomb. Accept no substitutes. This blend is legendary because it is really, really good. Probably best at night or in the cooler months. I don't know if I'd find this appealing at noon in Phoenix in the summer (that's Virginia season).

High quality tobacco taste’s great.

Tin Note
Tangy and smoky, kind of like BBQ chips. Hint of leather. Very subtle sweetness.
Tasting Notes
First thing I get is a tingle on my tongue, which I find pleasant, followed by that peppery Perique. Beef jerky. Great mouthfeel, like a chewy smoke but oh so smooth. Some bread and floral wood flavors come in and help balance everything out. I don't really get any of that "darkly sweet" flavor.
Nightcap is strong and robust, definitely meant to be enjoyed after a meal.
Can't wait to buy more.

I want to give an update. I've had my new tin for about 2 months now, smoked about half of it. Just the short amount of aging that has taken place with Nightcap since I got this tin has done absolute wonders to it. I'm really surprised. People aren't exaggerating when they say aging this blend changes it. It is now much softer, smoother, and SIGNIFICANTLY sweeter. I get sweetness in every puff. All the rough edges (there are many with a brand new tin) are completely gone. Nightcap has really taught me not to judge a blend too soon. If you don't like it at first, please open the tin, fluff it up, and do this a few times over the course of a month or two. This blend has become very sweet and just so much better even though it was already amazing. See my first review for details.

I'm a new pipe smoker, cigars for a little over a year, and many blends I've tried tend to burn the mouth. Peterson Nightcap is extremely smooth and is my go to tobacco, morning, night and throughout the day.
5 out of 5
A great smoking blend that is all it's cracked up to be. If your new, like me, watch all the review videos. You'll be able to pick up all the info your looking for to see if you want to try it. That's what I did, and I was not disappointed. Easy to smoke and full bodied. It's a rich smoking mixture that is consistent throughout the bowl.

As advertised. The perfect nightcap.

Perfect evening smoke

Well I stand corrected, my initial 3 star review did not hit the mark. I did what another reviewer had recommended with new tins of Nightcap: open the tin, fluff it up and air it out for just a few minutes. Store it and come back in a week or two and do the same thing again. A few days later and voila! No harsh bitterness. I enjoyed a hefty bowl of this last night and was absolutely enchanted. There was no stale mushroom vinegar flavor, and it has thickest creamy smoke of any tobacco I've tried, and lots of great flavor. This was not bitter and stale tasting like when I first opened the tin. The difference was stark. It really did taste like a heavier early morning pipe with more spice and a deeper slightly sweet something. I had one of the best night sleeps after that bowl that I've had in a while. After this bowl, there's not really any other tobacco that I'd want as my night time blend. Just to help others get an idea, my other favorite tobaccos are Peterson EMP, SPC Plum Pudding, Cascadia Vertical Limit, Gawith 1792 Flake, and Capstan Original.

My mornings start with EMP with coffee, and end with Nightcap with a wee dram of scotch.

I’m updating my first review since I’ve decided to smoke this a bit more before aging. Some things I’ve noticed.
At least with my new tin, I had better results letting this air out for 15/20minutes before packing.
There is a very baarely noticeable sweetness that can develop from the virginia and I assume perique as you get to halfway or more through the bowl.
I do like how the perique builds toward the end. It breaks up the monotony and bitterness of the Latakia/orientals.
I did find this smoke satisfying, and I really think if it was naturally more sweet, it would be much better to me. I think it is best at night. It had a thick spicyness that did satisfy me. I can tell it is a quality tobacco, but still a let-down compared to the hype and what I’ve experienced to being on the market as alternatives. I’d be curious as to how this compares to BlackHouse.
I also really don’t like how this overwhelms the pallet and stays on the tongue even well after drinking and brushing, and sleeping! I guess if you like the flavor that lingers this would be a good thing for some. I for one could still not taste much of my breakfast the next morning, not a positive strike in my opinion, a very negative one. This is one of the features of many cigars that I don’t like, and why I think piping is better to me.
I think for my tastes I much prefer a dark fired earthiness, like wood, leather, bbq, floral, spicey nutty (American style English) to the English style English which is bitter stale mushroomy, floral but less so, campfire but less so —If that makes sense, comparing nightcap to a very typical darkfired untopped American style blend.
Again I will age my tin, and look forward to smoking it once in a while for maybe a change of palette. The blend didn’t feel heavy, but rather, thick which is a good thing. I just really really don’t like how it overwhelms the taste buds for like more than 12 hrs. This wouldn’t be a problem if all I smoked was Nightcap I suppose.

I've smoked it for 25 years. What more can I say???????

I'm new to pipe smoking, but so far this is my favorite!
I have purchased approximately 15 differing tobaccos...

Wonderful stuff. I don't wait for night to smoke this. First thing in the morn with a cup of strong black coffee is a delight. Never do I find myself wishing for more flavor with Nightcap.

In my discovery of English blends, I started with my mixture. I then tried many recommended blends. I finally after months get Nightcap. It is my new goto Latakia.
5 out of 5
Excellent blend! Excellent flavor!
5 out of 5
Perfect at anytime day or night. Nightcap is in my regular rotation.
5 out of 5
Excellent tobacco that burns evenly and delivers complex and fragrant flavors. It does not clog the pipe as other tobaccos do. The cut is, in my opinion, very regular and easy to pack in the pipe bowl. The canister also keeps it fresh. Adding a moisture control envelope in the canister makes the whole experience highly satisfying.

I really enjoy this blend. Just what I need at the end of a long day.

Still my go to day and night
None better.

So my first impression is that when first cracking the tin, I can easily smell the Virginia's and latikia. I find it very relaxing and enjoyable and will probably keep it as my late night smoke.

The hype is accurate, Blood Red Moon will definitely stay in the rotation.

Having only smoked aromatics in my return to pipe smoking, I was reluctant to delve into a Latakia and Perique mix. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the woodsy, earthy quality of this blend. It improved all the way down to the bottom of the bowl and was indeed the perfect nightcap to my day. Really enjoyed this tobacco!
5 out of 5
I'm still fairly new to selecting pipe tobacco, but I was impressed by the smoothness of this blend, I enjoy it and will definitely buy it again.

Second best favorite, I like the Latakia

Excellent product all the way around!

Dude I just bought like four tins of this. I spend all day looking forward to the evening, so it's the appropriate time to smoke it. It is awfully strong, so I only smoke it outside, but it is an amazing end to the day.
3 out of 5
This blend fell very sort of all the hype for me . I love latakia. While it is there it's much less than I expected. I will most likely order this again at some point . But more for a pleasant change of pace than one of my favorites.

Pleasant smokey flavor. Strong but not overpowered. Quickly became a favorite after a single bowl.

Perfect for afternoon relaxation
5 out of 5
My favorite blend. It is smooth, robust, complex, and a wonderful smoke in the English style. The Arabian, Latakia, and just the right amount of Perique, make a pipe full nearly a mystical experience! Originated by Dunhill, Peterson has continued to make this blend a wonderful nightcap.
3 out of 5
not that good. wont order again
5 out of 5
This is by far, my favorite blend. This is my go to smoke. Many moons ago, when i heard that Dunhill was closing up shop. I panic bought several tins of this blend. I just now finished those tins, but only because i had found out that Peterson had taken up the mantle of producing it. Not only using the same blend, but from the same place where it was made by Dunhill. Those tins were a couple years old, and I will tell you, they only got better with age. Tonight, I tried my first Peterson Nightcap. I am happy. Now, memory is a fickle thing, but this gives me the same feeling, smell, and taste of the Dunhill blend. To me, the room smells of nostalgia, bringing memories of my father sitting in his easy chair having a pipe, even though he didnt smoke this brand. Thats just the note for me. I do not detect any flavors of fruit or spice, just a very mellow smell of a wonderfully aromatic tobacco. It was a bit overly moist upon first opening the tin, so you might want to let it dry out of a bit. All in all, still my favorite. Thank you Peterson.
Now, shame on Pipes and Cigars.....for getting this to me so quickly. I had went out a purchased a hold over tobacco at a local place in anticipation of a wait for it too arrive. I did not expect regular shipping to be just a couple of days, so I was set to enjoy a blend I had never tried. But, alas, Pipes and Cigars had different plans for me. Thank you to Pipes and Cigars for disappointing me....in a good way. You da best!

Now one of my favorites. I smoke this most evenings while studying the Word. It’s a perfect blend in my opinion.
5 out of 5
I find I enjoy Nightcap very much. At first I did not care for the pungent aroma when I smelled the tobacco from the can. However, now I like the smell. It's an acquired smell. The taste is good in my opinion. The first thought that came to my mind was the smell of sandalwood. I can see why this blend is called Nightcap. It is soothing and relaxing. I reccomend this pipe tobacco for only a serious pipe smoker. Good stuff.
3 out of 5
As with EMP, I've heard NC gets better with age. I'll give it some time and come back to it.
5 out of 5
I'll give it a simple review only because I wanted a very all around smokey tobacco and thats just what I got. I try not to search much deeper into any other flavors that Night Cap has to offer although they are there. It has an amaising room note that my wife absolutely loves. Its one that every one should try. Its a must for any English blend lover.
5 out of 5
One of my top two favorite blends right now (the other being SPC Plum Pudding). This was my first English blend experience and it just blew my mind and opened my eyes to the enjoyment of the actual flavor of tobacco. Just a great, consistent smoke from start to finish. I can’t recommend it enough.

A good Latakia blend my contemporary standards.

Excellent flavor. I really like this stuff. To me it has a nice smooth woodsy flavor.
4 out of 5
Great before bed or after gym.
4 out of 5
Only have to start this up once with the flam. The first third is a strong dark leathery, oak, Pepper Taste. It smoothly transitions to a nice soothing smell that makes you feel tired with a nice nictine hit. The last of the bowl doesn’t taste ashy or anything this mixture is definitely one of the best blends that haves a amazing aftertaste that I have from this company by far. This is my opinion not a fact or anything this is what I taste probably no one else. Good luck and happy pipeing, God bless.

If I had one tobacco I could smoke for the rest of my life...Nightcap would be my top choice.

Nightcap is my favorite English blend. It taste great, smells great, comes with the perfect moisture for an easy burn, and has just the right amount of nicotine for a good relaxing smoke at the end of the day. Very deep and complex. Highly recommended for any fan of bold English blends and fans of Latakia tobacco.
4 out of 5
Not sweet, smell of raisin and … tobacco 😊. I expected a more fuller body, but its balanced.
5 out of 5
This is a manly smoke & may be intimidating to some newer pipe smokers but it’s popularity and consistent positive reviews shouldn’t be disregarded. They are a testament to its legacy as a classic. It’s has a lovely tobacco aroma and is just a perfect English blend. The flavor is unadulterated tobacco joy. Don’t be shy & be your own judge.

Love this tobacco!

I wondered, could this be as good as all the reviews?
Yes,yes it is. A wonderfully deep n rich Smokey leather flavor combines with a slightly spicy n sour undertones.
Retrohale is spicy and has some staying power. You feel this blend, it’s robust and filling. Nice nic hit.
My only regret, waiting so long to try this.

It’s got a lovely and robust taste, a lovely hearty aftertaste.
This has become a fast favorite and I will absolutely make sure this is a part of my collection.

Smooth clean flavor, a fantastic room note and aroma. It's become my favorite evening smoke.

Best English Tobacco!!
5 out of 5
This is a full bodied tobacco that doesn’t overwhelm the room. It’s well balanced. It has a distinct, yet inviting, aroma. And the Latakia and Perique mix is superb. In fact, I’m considering lighting some up now as I’m writing this! Perterson’s Nightcap will be a regularly stocked pipe tobacco in my collection.

I wrote a review on the Peterson nightcap tobacco last month. It was a little premature because I was not impressed with the aroma of the tobacco when I opened the can.
I did however like the taste and smoke of it.
The room aroma is pleasant and smoke is great and smooth and cool.
I've since become a huge fan of Peterson nightcap and ordered more of it from p&c. Also the Early morning and others.
My order is expected to arrive soon and I can't wait to try them all.
5 out of 5
My favorite blend of the 50 or so i have tried. I was so disappointed when i heard Dunhill shutdown and i couldnt get it anymore. I just found out peterson is making this now, just got my order yesterday and yes i believe this is definitely the same as the Dunhill.
5 out of 5
I like Peterson tobaccos, and this one is great.
4 out of 5
I quit smoking cigarettes Feb. 2019 and almost started up again until a friend recommended I try smoking a pipe and not inhale. I started smoking a pipe almost a year ago and so I am still new and learning about the many pipes and pipe tobacco.
My first tobacco is captain black and I liked it but still explore new ones. I found the Mac baren blends are very nice and love them. I've aquired many pipes now and have one favorite pipe that I love and it happens to be a Peterson system Plip pipe. So I figured from reading the reviews of Peterson nightcap that it would be the best.
As I stated, I'm still new at the world of pipe smoking and was excited to try the nightcap tobacco. When I opened the can, I was not impressed with the aroma because it smelled sour to me. But after smoking a few bowls I have gotten used to the smell and enjoy the taste. It's a little stronger than I am used to but I do enjoy the flavor
I don't notice a sweet aroma in the room but it is pleasant. I don't smoke it as a daily tobacco but it is relaxing in the evening.
I'm going to try other Peterson tobacco blends and I will keep the nightcap on hand for my rotation.

Excellent English blend! Nightcap lives up to the hype. Smooth Latakia forward blend with a subtle hint of sweetness. Worth every penny!
5 out of 5
I found Nirvana! It is ribbon-cut, so I packed it gently and tamped delicately, and it exceeded my wildest dreams. It smoked cool, and the full-flavored tobacco was loaded with complex tastes, all the way to the dottle. It relaxed me and made me feel totally at ease. It will be a standard part of my rotation.

Nightcap was one of the first pipe tobaccos that I couldn't do without. Glad Peterson is making it. Love the full bodied flavor and the smell is unique.

So I've only done one smoke. But prominent on the nose taste is a lot more pepper than I expected. Like the richness, but didn't expect the dominant flavor and smell to be pepper.

A relaxing bedtime smoke full of that English taste and aroma. Good night.

My favorite after supper smoke. It gets better every smoke

Nothing I can add about this one. A favorite. Strong, rich and flavorful. Great for a long evening smoke with a glass of good bourbon, dog at your side, as you contemplate the meaning of it all.

It's by far the very best in my mind. But I do miss the Syrian Laticia tobacco. But still have best!!

I have recently had an interest in English tobacco. This was very nice
5 out of 5
This is my favorite tobacco. I was unhappy when Dunhill closed it's doors but Peterson saved me by starting to sell Nightcap, I tried a tin and could not taste the difference from the original. I only smoke latakia blends and this one delivers the best taste, I never experience bite or harsh after taste.
5 out of 5
Relatively new to pipe smoking and have found this blend to be one of my favorites as I experiment with other offerings. To me, it is very flavorful and has a nice spice.
5 out of 5
I just had to see what the hype was about with this Night cap. It’s safe to say I smoked my entire shipment. This is everything I am looking for in a smoke. I didn’t have a pleasure to smoke the previous blend, so I can’t compare. I’m assured the blend hasn’t changed, but some are convinced it’s different. This is something they need to offer in bulk because I would buy this by the pound. My ol lady hates it, and hates the smell but she is a cigarette smoker and has no taste for pipe tobacco. I have used pipe tobacco to keep me off the American Spirits and full bodied blends like these keep me satisfied. If you enjoy this I recommend also trying Bow legged bear, purple cow, and if burley is your thing, Big Burley #103.

Latakia heaven!
5 out of 5
A solid blend. Have been slowly dipping into the world of Peterson/Dublin, and have not been disappointed yet.
I received this tin along with De luxe navy rolls and Sweet Killarney, so I would have a variety. After sampling the other two first and drifting to Nightcap in the evening I’ll admit it threw me back a bit with the Latakia, so I let it sit for about a month before I tried again. After knowing what I was smoking, it was the most relaxing experience. Definitely a smoke for around a campfire, or sitting on the porch on a fall night. The smokiness of the Latakia reminds me of my grandfathers pipe, while the perique smooths out the bowl enough relax while smoking. A good nicotine hit, but as I said, a most solid smoke.
5 out of 5
This flavor is definitely going in my rotation. This and the royal yacht are two of my favorites now.

Great after dinner smoke!

This taste like I'm smoking the 50's....if you could smoke the 50's.

A favorite, it's a good strong smoke. But smooth. it's the BEST for that afternoon smoke.
5 out of 5
This is my favorite blend ever in my rotation. Some blends temporarily grab my attention away, but I never get sick of this one.
4 out of 5
Very good dark and heavy English. Not as sweet as some of the other heavy English smokes I've tried. Worth trying, easy to enjoy.
5 out of 5
Fantastic blend, now l understand why Night Cap is such a beloved favorite.
5 out of 5
I’m as novice as they get when it comes to pipe smoking and I have tried several samplers but this blend is one of my favorites. This is a flavorful blend with a nice nicotine kick. The tin, to me, had more of a burnt aroma but when packed properly and smoked it really balances out. Ive only had a few Peterson brands, and certainly looking forward to trying more.
5 out of 5
This was my first premium pipe tobacco back in 2010. It is no different from the Dunhill version. It does have a very pungent room note that is great for social distancing in 2020. :-) Great strong English flavor blend, the Nicotine is medium but on the top end of medium.
5 out of 5
Ok first takes couple go around to get accustomed to the flavor. I really enjoy the smell of the room notes. The aroma you get reminds me of Thanksgiving dinner for some reason. Now I had to smoke several bowls to of this to figure out that I really enjoy it and will definitely be purchasing again. Have to try Peterson other blends for sure now
4 out of 5
Been a long time favorite! When in a reflective mood, it’s just the right thing! Always keep a tin on hand !

Heavy smoke and for sure an after dinner smoke! Strong English and not a good introductory to English Tobacco, but this is an English lover's must have!
5 out of 5
Smokes well , its a great way to end the day. The aroma very pleasant. Interest in this was to see if the smoke ,taste and aroma, was the way. I remembered it 30yrs ago. The answer Yes. Thank you for bringing it back😎.
5 out of 5
My favorite tobacco at the moment. Good with any pairing and very satisfying.
4 out of 5
Nice anytime bowl. Enough smoky Latakia to have a change of pace from typical aros. I’m no tobacconist, and I guess this is more an English blend, I like it, similar to Frog Morton Cellar in my eyes.
5 out of 5
my all time fav at the moment! wish they had bulk would buy 2 pounds for sure
5 out of 5
Stout. This was the only second english blend I had ever triedn and Ive got to say that probably wasn't in my best interest, but man is it delicious. Nightcap is strong in flavor, nicotine, and room note. If you like Heavy english you'll enjoy this one. It's one i'll keep around.
3 out of 5
Dunhill/Peterson has an amazing reputation, but I just don't see it. The flavor was top notch, but it didn't burn well and had some of the worst tongue bite i've had. I've almost finished the tin, and every smoke I find myself relighting all the time and I've tried both the three-step pack and the Frank method. Maybe it's the lighting that cause the tongue bite or the smaller bowl of my pipe, either way, not super impressed.
5 out of 5
Can’t go wrong with Nightcap, that slightly pungent aroma makes this blend even more of a surprise when it tastes fantastic
5 out of 5
I recently tried this tobacco for the very first time, 10/29/20, around 930 at night on my porch. After watching reviews and reading reviews, I really didn’t know what to expect after opening the 10 and the note was completely different than what I thought it would be. Sticking my nose in there, and taking a big sniff, it brought me back to memories of enjoying Crown achievement with friends. There is a bit of controversy with this blend, as this is considered to be one of the heavier English blends on the market. Many people disagree, and that’s why it can be a bit of a controversy. I do have to agree, this is a very heavy blend, definitely made for experienced Latakia smokers. The tin note was absolutely phenomenal, and made me salivate while smelling it. It was perfect Goldilocks, and I could pack it directly out of the tin. Stays lit extremely well, even on a blustery evening on my porch. The consistency is just phenomenal, followed by a great taste. It felt full in your mouth, almost as if there was a substance to chew. It gave me everything I was looking for in a tobacco. Now the heavy part, the nicotine content, yes is definitely a little bit higher. I am a nicotine heavy weight, and I definitely began to feel it after only two or three nostril exhales. This is a fantastic tobacco, I definitely recommend it, but I definitely recommend it to someone who is a little bit more experienced in the English Latakia department. Enjoy, and enjoy responsibly

Love the flavor of this Nightcap. This is my second favorite tobacco, my first being Plumb pudding. Im a sucker for English blends. Nightcap is strong but not to strong, it has a great finish with a little kick. I always keep a tin of this on hand.

Not bad. Reminds me of the GBD tobacco

A great smoke to end the day. I have to admit the Nicotine hits me afterwards and gets me sleepy. The blend I use to end my day and I highly recommend it.
5 out of 5
Very tasty. Does really hit the spot after a 20hr day. I especially love the fact it smells like beef jerky, however doesn't taste like it. Comparable to the plum pudding, however it's already ribboned, so no prep, and it's less expensive.
5 out of 5
Excellent evening smoke. By far my favorite English blend. The tin arrived very well sealed, so much so that it took me a good while to get it open. The moisture level was perfect and it has a healthy nicotine kick as is expected. This will continue to be a standard in my rotation.
5 out of 5
Very mellow and clean burning. As the name implies, it helps take the edge off of a long day. As a first time user of this, it gives me the hint of lavender and perhaps even a touch of menthol although those aren't part of the composition. Interested in hearing if others have had a similar experience.
5 out of 5
This is the blend that hooked me on Latakia. It’s my last smoke of the day.

My favorite English blend. Only blend I smoke. Full flavor.

Very good all around. Great smell, great taste, smooth, clean burning, and also great packaging with the iconic tin art. Solid blend with no complaints. It looks, tastes and smells VERY similar to H&H Larry's Morning Blend.

My favorite one si far.
5 out of 5
The king of all pipe tobaccos in my opinion, Full flavored and complex sure, but not over the top or obnoxious. The best way to finish off a wonderful meal is with a pipe of nightcap with friends or family.

Enjoyable after sunset blend. I found it to be a pleasant end of the day blend, to help relax and wind down.

I had my first tobaccasm. This is it: Peterson's Nightcap (an exquisitely precise product name). I've had many a blend from this treasured site, but nothing compares to Nightcap. The center of my tongue reacted with no less than a umami reaction. As I first smoked, my wife said that I sounded as if I were having relations. It is that good. Every order, here on out, will include this superlative blend. Thank the Good Lord I have taste buds and olfactory sensors to appreciate this triumph.

My new favorite tobacco by far. It is a heavy smoke and best right before bed. A perfect "nightcap".

So glad Peterson started making this stuff again. Hands down the best English blend I have ever tried. Fairly strong, rich and well balanced. A wonderful, satisfying tobacco. Highly recommended.

Really nice smoke and smell
5 out of 5
The taste, mouth feel, and aroma is indistinguishable from the dunhill nightcap. All I would say is that for some reason it doesn’t burn well at first so it needs a couple weeks to oxidize before use.
5 out of 5
Like everyone else I was in full panic when Dunhill announced that they were no longer distributing this and other staple blends. Peterson to the rescue. It is exactly the same in every way.
5 out of 5
Great way to end the day.

The only thing I can add about Nightcap, on what's been written extensively, is sometimes only Nightcap will do. The heavy dose of latakia and aged Virginias makes it a satisfying smoke at the end of a long day. It may not be an everyday tobacco but there will be many evenings where only Nightcap will do the job!

As Good as it used to be
5 out of 5
My favorite. Strong and perfect.
5 out of 5
I have been smoking Nightcap for about forty years and I always enjoyed it. I was fearful that when Dunhill sold out to Peterson it would not be the same but I was pleasantly surprised. It still has that great taste and aroma.
5 out of 5
Great blends. I never had a time to taste former Dunhill labor, but this is good stuff.

This is really shaping up to be one of my absolute favorites in the 9 months I've been pipe smoking. Such great flavor. Can't go wrong with ribbon cut as it just burns so nicely all the way down.

A nice evening smoke

Delicious and smooth.
5 out of 5
Smooth, slightly robust and a perfect finish to the day. Immensely pleasurable. Try it.

This blend is absolutely perfect for late night/evening smokes as the name suggests. I have smoked quite a bit of the original Dunhill nightcap, and I can not tell a difference from this one. 10/10!
5 out of 5
This was one of my staples, under the Dunhill name, along with Early Morning Pipe, My Mixture 965, Standard Mixture, and Elizabethan. I was seldom so pleased as when Peterson picked up the torch, and began releasing these blends under their own name. Peterson Nightcap is, IMO, spot on to the original, I can't detect any difference. This is one that I usually cellar for a year or two, so I purchased four tins (also four tins of EMP, 965, Standard Mixture and Elizabethan), one for now and three for later (and I plan on ordering even more for the celler). I opened the first tin, and was greeted with a very pleasant and familiar aroma, sweet, smoky and figgy, with a complex creamy leathery undertone. Moisture content was perfect for smoking right out of the tin (as all of the Dunhills were). It packed nicely, lit easily, and stayed lit very well. It got into the 'zone' quickly, and delivered a sweet, complex and smokey incense like smooth smoke, just like I remembered. The Perique content was very apparent, adding a peppery, dried fruit flavor to overall complexity of the smoke. The nicotine was on the high side of medium, just right for the last pipe of the day. My conclusion was that that 'They're Back'! I had the same conclusion with the other blends I mentioned. I'm very grateful to Peterson for bringing back our beloved Dunhill blends, if you (like me) enjoyed the Dunhill blends, you will not be disappointed with the Peterson re-issues. They even kept the cool Dunhill tin art, it's exactly the same except for the change in the name from Dunhill to Peterson.

Full-bodied and back to basics!

Super thought this was the poop. People talk about it. I mean, its good, mixed with a bit of lat for flavor. Its for the “I smoke light cigarettes” kinda people. No offense. Was looking for bold and strong. Not my least fav.

Its so good on my list for thank you

This is the first full English I’ve tried, and all I’ve heard is how strong it is, and it’s overpowering it can be. Well I’ve been on my non aromatic journey for a little while now and wanted to the full flavor English experience. When the tin arrived in the mail i excitedly opened it up to find the tin note to be very strong. The taste however did not translate, surprisingly. I was expecting over the top campfire taste, what I tasted was bland tobbacco, possibly a little campfire but not what I was expecting. Maybe it’s me and I’m not a Latakia guy, I seem to get lots of flavors from Virginia’s, and VaPers. But not this blend sadly. I have it jarred and will come back for another bowl after some age, Which I have heard helps this blend. One thing I will say was it smoked great, extremely cool, maybe the coolest I’ve had. And no bad aftertaste.
4 out of 5
This smells just like the good old Dunhill Nightcap out of the can. I have jarred the new stuff and expect it will be just as good as the original when I smoke it next year.
5 out of 5
As fine an English blend as I've ever had. It's a smokey, peppery, slightly sweet blend that I enjoyed from the first sip to the last. It has definitely earned it's spot in my rotation.
5 out of 5
Probably my new favorite. I’m using this as a special smoke once per year on IPSD. Can’t wait to let the taste deepen as this one ages each year.

While strolling thru a new tobacco shop for pipe cleaners and humidor stuff, I spotted a tin of Peterson's Nightcap and added it to my basket. I never pulled the trigger on Dunhill's version, so I bought it. I waited a few hours before loading it in a pipe, and I found Nirvana! It is ribbon-cut, so I packed it gently and tamped delicately, and it exceeded my wildest dreams. It smoked cool, and the full-flavored tobacco was loaded with complex tastes, all the way to the dottle. It relaxed me and made me feel totally at ease. And P&C's prices mean I'll order it again! It will be a standard part of my rotation.

One of my favorites, going back 30 years. If your palate is more suited to bolder flavors, espresso instead of Maxwell house, single malt scotch or Drambuie instead of flavored vodva, and IPAs instead of Coors light, this is for you. I enjoy all of these things but appreciate a stronger bolder, more natural taste. I've certainly smoked my share of aromatics, which are generally more appealing to the crowds, especially non smokers, but I gravitate towards the stronger more natural English blends for a more satisfying smoke.

This blend has a delightful bouquet. Very unique. Mild and flavorful. Rich and earthy tin notes. One of my favorites!
5 out of 5
Tried this initially my first week smoking a pipe and hated it. Several months later I decided to give it another shot and am so glad that I did. It has become one of my favorites. Now most evenings I put on some music and enjoy Nightcap along with a glass of port for a truly wonderful, relaxing evening.
5 out of 5
A Very well balanced Blend I would highly recommend it to anybody wanting to try a good hearty English

This is now in my regular rotation. Love the full body and flavor it packs with the added Perique. Very good.
4 out of 5
definitely lives up to its name. u will be ready to retire after a bowl of this very good and semi sweet smelling tobacco
4 out of 5
More savory and smoking than sweet incense flavor in this English blend. The perique adds a fantastic complexity and depth. Needed a little time in the jar to get the flavors to develop.
5 out of 5
I'm delighted that Peterson's has kept this blend alive. It's the greatest evening blend there is- dark, strong, slow burning, full flavored and rich. Grand way to close out the evening, wholly satisfying and absolutely flavorful with the exact perfection of a strong blend.
5 out of 5
so happy to have this wonderful blend back! get ya some!
3 out of 5
Certainly a robust blend. Perfect for a Cigar Smoker trying out a pipe. Achieving and maintaining the appropriate moisture level can be a challenge. Of course, that is subject to taste. The aroma was good, flavor was straight up.
3 out of 5
I'm giving this a middle rating because I didn't really enjoy how heavy and complex it was. I'm a very beginner pipe smoker so please don't put too much weight into this review
5 out of 5
As of right now, this is my favorite blend. Don’t be intemidated by what others have said about it. It’s delicious!
5 out of 5
Amazing tin note, robust and alluring. First half of the bowl was an intense combination of flavors. After a while you begin to grasp the complexity and pleasing flavor. Fantastic way to enjoy a nice evening. The "nic hit" isnt quite as strong as the legends suggest, but it is noticeable. Very enjoyable.

I am not a frequent pipe smoker, but when I do, I love some nightcap. This is very smooth and fragrant pipe tobacco. It is my current favorite. I am still awaiting the devestation that Dunhill closing down it pipe tobacco section will cause. No match mixes even come close. I will be truly upset as this is a great tobacco.
5 out of 5
Very strong, I have smoked a pipe since I was in my twenties and am now 85 andand this this tobacco had a hypnotic effect?????

Great pipe tobacco.

Really great smoke stock up as much as you can before it’s unavoidable

This is actually a "re-review".... I wrote a review panning this tobacco on March 19. Since then I have watched a few YouTube vids on pipe smoking tips. I have since let it dry out a little and learned how to properly pack the bowl. I had been packing it too tight. What a difference! This really is nice stuff with many complex flavors and aromas. Now I'm happy! It pays to learn what you are doing.

i'm fairly new to pipe smoking as i am a cigar smoker for almost 10 years and it's very different. that being said night cap to me is really heavy. it's an acquired taste probably for more "experienced" pipe smokers i've had heavy cigars which weren't my cup of tea but if you like tobacco that smells the musk of a sweaty clint eastwood in the good the bad and the ugly and a taste that'll kick you in the mouth like chuck norris than this is for you lol. i think over time i might enjoy this more.
1 out of 5
I don't have much experience smoking pipe, that being said, I was really disappointed with this stuff. My favorite so far is Mcclelland #12 which is now "unobtanium" so I received an order of 4 CAO blends, this one, and 2 Captain Blacks from P&C. I guess I prefer 'aromatic' type tobaccos like Captain Black original and CAO CherryBomb. This stuff tastes like smoking mud to my newbee palate.
5 out of 5
This is one of my go to blends had to dry it out a bit, excellent smoke with great flavor.
3 out of 5
Dunhill Nightcap was one of the first blends I tried as a new smoker. I purchased it because Dunhill blends (this one in particular) are very popular. It was alright, but a little too much tongue-bite for me. Personally, I prefer blends without Perique.
5 out of 5
Fine quality, and a great blend.
5 out of 5
Truly a delicious English blend. This blend is pretty much what every English blends attempts to mimic... I think I’ve figured out it’s flavor profile, imagine a normal English blend like John Bull, but with I very mild hint of Cigar Leaf. It says it doesn’t include cigar lead but it definitely has the room not of cigar leaf. This blend isn’t as strong in nicotine as it claims but the flavor is very full and satisfying.
5 out of 5
One of my favorite blends, it taste similar to Missouri Meerschaum American Patriot to me, but that may just be because of the latikia and the fact that i haven't tried many English blends yet
5 out of 5
Very harsh=very good!!!
5 out of 5
As expected. Maybe not quite up to the hype, but still quite nice. Earns a spot on the rotation.
4 out of 5
I am just getting back into pipe smoking. I got a range of tobacco a few weeks ago with this one. I was not a fan at first due to how harsh and strong I thought it was. Over time it has grown on me. It is offers a unique flavor that makes me think of pine trees. As strong as it is, it has smooth nature about it while having no trouble staying lit. It does have a very strong tobacco aroma that stays with you after you’re done. Maybe you don’t care about that, but some may be concerned about that. It seems like a solid tobacco, but just not personally for me. Maybe I’ll come back to it in a year or so and see if I’ve grown to like it more.

Awesome Latakia forward blend. Strong but mellow and not overpowering at all. I think it’s my favorite Latakia blend.

Since Presbyterian is out of the picture right now, I've been looking for a new friend. Been trying new English blends all summer and now on the advent of the long winter...I think I've found a new friend. Perique always "frightened" me as too much is like putting table pepper in your pipe. And though there are those who like that, it's not for me. But Night Cap's blend, including the Perique is what I call a great solution to the science and art of blending. To be fair...respect it and take your time. If you do, you won't be dashed. I'm glad we found each other. Thanks jat
4 out of 5
It's a great blend, but I finished my entire Hearth & Home Harvest before cracking the tin a second time. Maybe I'm just not English enough.
5 out of 5
Nightcap is the total big English blend. It is robust and satisfying and it is not selling any top note. It is a touch sweet, nice and smoky, and has a depth all its own. You'll want to savor the flavor in your quiet place, hence it actually is a good pre-bedtime option. Stock up while you still can!
5 out of 5
Yeah it’s a good pre sleep 😴 smoke 💨

Understand this is coming from a new pipe smoker..Wow!!! What a bowl full of flavor. Not sure if there are better blends out there but excited to see. Not sure if I can smoke it everyday but damn happy when I do.
5 out of 5
Very smokey taste with some pepper and hints of floral tones when blown through ones nose. I like it from both freshly opened tin, to aged and mellowed. And the tin note is that of a campfire on a soggy night. I'm doing all I can to stock up before it gone. You should too.
5 out of 5
Unexpectedly mild for a blend advertised as bold and robust. Came packed into a moist cake. Strong smoky Latakia note in the tin. Smoked in a clean Dr. Grabow Lark Full Bent - my favorite evening pipe - with a fresh filter. Mild smoking but with full taste of toasty Virginia and smoky Latakia. Not a hint of bite. The Perique dominates the room note. Deserves it's name. A perfect evening smoke. Stocking up.
5 out of 5
Very strong flavor, peppery perique, full body smoke, stayed lit right out of the tin. I let it dry for a couple weeks now I'm storing it in a jar to see why others recommend doing that way.
5 out of 5
Nightcap is a pleasant and decidedly English blend. Latakia and a touch of Perique are balanced with Virginias to create one of Dunhill's very best blends. Nightcap is a great departure from my regular pipe tobacco; Lane's 1-Q

This is one of the tins I've always wanted. Smokes well and has a nice, smooth taste. Smells similar to Peterson's Old Dublin, but smokes and tastes different.

Well, this is the first English blend/Latakia heavy tobacco I've ever tried. I definitely am not used to the Latakia aroma (some might say stench), and it's taken me a long time to come around to this tobacco. The first time I ever tried it, I didn't mind the act of smoking it as much as the aroma, but I didn't enjoy my time with it. After 6 months of the tobacco mellowing out in the tin, the aroma isn't as harsh, and smoking the tobacco has become pleasant. Definitely not my favorite, but I'm learning to like it.
5 out of 5
My go to blend....I've bought this many times and just got a tin in the mail. I couldn't wait to open the tin to smell the earthy campfire note explode from the can. Reminiscing about previous encounters with my old friend I load a bowl right off the bat. Almost ignoring the other selections in my order box. That first puff rolls through like a dream. Each better than the last I know my next several days will be awesome with this blend in stock. I'm now enjoying a lasting finish that goes fine with my morning coffee. I will hate to see you go nightcap. You're the bomb!!

Terrific!
Strong Latakia Blend, but not overpowering.
I like it in my Capri Warlock Churchwarden, no bite, smooth and relaxing.
goes well with a bourbon too...

As a new pipe smoker, it is hard to distinguish the complex flavors I hear so much that come from Dunhill's Nightcap. I picked up my first pipe not too long ago and unknowingly bought what to me was an unpleasant Lane BCA. Not to badmouth BCA, I have since learned to enjoy it, but I would much rather smoke Nightcap. Without my sense of taste to put to words how good this tobacco is, you'll just have to take my word that it is well worth it. Highly recommended, even for a "new-to-tobacco" pipe smoker, do not be scared by the reputation this blend holds. Go easy, and enjoy... I'm sure you will.
5 out of 5
I had a tin of this about 5 years ago and it blew me away. I had only been a pipe smoker for a couple years, and it was exactly how I thought a tobacco should taste. It was nice and rich and mellow, with a reasonable kick to it.
I got a new tin in this very afternoon and it just seems a lot different from the one I smoked a few years ago. The smell is a lot more tangy and Virginia-y, and a bit less of that intense Latakia "Tobacco" smell, and that carries over to the smoking. The color seems a fair bit lighter than the old tin as well. The nicotine kick is a bit stronger too, and would have made my head spin if I was still a newbie.
It's still a superb tobacco worthy of five stars, but if you fell in love with the older nightcap and want to revisit it, just be warned that it's just a little bit different.
4 out of 5
it is a good smoke but may be a bit strong for some especially if you are used to aromatics.
5 out of 5
Nightcap from Dunhill is my favorite blend, I end every evening with a wonderful pipe full of this tobacco. This blend changes as you smoke it, latakia comes through on one puff while perique or orientals come through on rhe next. The balance is very nice, it is a rich and powerful tobacco blend and one I would never run out of.
5 out of 5
I like smoking English blends for their flavor and aroma but many are just too heavy for evening. Nightcap has the flavor I want but is still light enough that I can enjoy before bedtime.

Love it , about to order more

I am amused at how do many people parrot each other on this blend. Folks come on this blend is average at very best. Really some of you folks need to venture out more. I enjoy this blend however it seems to try to please everyone, which I notice seems to be the motivation of Dunhill brands. This blend is a general kind of smoke that does not shine in room note, flavor or flavor taste. Sure it is a nice smoke but way too bland to stand out in any catagory. The Latakia is almost nonexistent so no real smoky flavor. I tend to think some folks think because it says Dunhill....well gosh it must be the best. Open up your horizons and try other brands even small little know brands which may truly surprise you!

This dunhill is a remarkably gwntle but full bodied medallic winning english but out of the past 1675-1800‘s that focuses on the sembarisms of what the body needs throughout the month all the way to.each day,..after day,....aiding and quinlling to all of its other tobaccoas in its needs and mwlding a coeficienc that equals a bottled.100% perfectual nature im a bottle,...while providing a good smokey and tastey.english at the same time,...a perfect late day remedy for any.after dinner relaxation needs,...where a total rewrite.and oscilation of concernse are in need...for that untempermental worry free night time smoke!! I‘ll always come back to P&C to buy it...very recommended for new smokers too!!

A superb blend with sweet hay-like Virginias, spicy Perique, and dark smokey Latakia. Some may say that it's best after a hearty meal, but I find it to be excellent anytime.

I'd had my eye on Dunhill Nightcap for awhile whenever I looked through the Pipes And Cigars catalog. I was happy to finally pick up a tin! A dark, heavy taste will a little spice. Very satisfying!
5 out of 5
I received a 1.76oz tin of Nightcap in the King of the Dunhill Sampler (which I highly recommend). Nightcap has a really nice, rich flavor and smokes very smooth. The room note is quite nice as well. I usually start off (or end) the evening with a few bowls that are on the Latakia side of things then I always end with a bowl of Nightcap. You can't go wrong with any Dunhill tobacco. Good stuff.
5 out of 5
Thank goodness for the English. They have a tobacco for every part of the day.
Nite Cap is perfect for the end of day! Full bodied and flavorful. Stays lite and gives a good long smoke. Not for beginners but ideal for seasoned smokers.

Lots of flavor .. and strong enough for a cigar smoker
5 out of 5
I love this blend and smoke it nightly. Its full flavored, smokey, has some good spice and a very slight sweetness to it. Plenty of vitamin N but not over the top like I have heard but I have a higher tolerance than some. It puts me in a relaxed state of mind by the end of each bowl and never gets old. Smokes very well. You can bring out or calm some of the flavors by changing your smoking pace.
5 out of 5
I took the plunge into Latakia's early and not very gradually. I'm not a fan of most aromatics and stick mainly to English blends. Nightcap is among my favorites. It's bold and full of flavor. A very relaxing smoke. I like to dry it out a bit (about an hour on a sheet of paper) because straight out of the tin it's a bit gooey. I will always have some on hand.
5 out of 5
Nice rich English blend. This was part of my first journey into the world of more full English tobaccos along with Tsuge's Ryujin (I was a big fan of Ashton's Artisan blend and Dunhill's London for a while prior but wanted a bit more heft). This blend is very rich, with a mostly smokey, slightly spicey, with a faint hint of earth balance but even as I am just adjusting to heavier blends, this was very pleasant. I think the Ryujin seemed to be a small amount smoother with more spice/earth flavors to it, but this blend has also been a treat to have around.

Over all Nighcup is a great product

4 stars to the tast of premium tabaco , I can only smoke this one at the end of the day , chaulked full of flavor , not a very Plesent room note .

Has to be the 4th tin of Nightcap I've enjoyed. It is, my favorite mix to enjoy in the late ours of night. Burns nice, fills the room with a lovely note. I even enjoy it when friends smoke it.
I actually put a tin of it on my Christmas list! Wife asks: What do you want for Christmas? I said... Find tobacco, another tin of Nightcap!

This stuff will make you grow chest hair if you don't have any. Delicious blend which is quite bold and elegant, this is the one full flavored option for me.

Absolutely wonderful. It relaxes you at the end of a long day. Will be purchasing again for sure.

Exquisite night time smoke. Perfect blend, have a bowl and two fingers on rocks then go to bed.

Funny name for such a strong mixture. Every time I have a "last bowl" of it I end up following up with a bowl of 965. Nightcap will always be on rotation.

When first opening the tin you're greeted with what is by FAR the strongest smelling English Blend your nose is ever going to come across. A bold leather scent takes the foreground while hints of hearty camp fire lie calmly, but not unnoticed, in the background. Whilst packing the pipe the first thing you'll notice is the remarkable dryness of the tobacco in this blend. It feels almost like cut and dried grass to give you an idea of the consistency. This is very far from a moist tobacco. I'm not sure if this is because it's a bold English blend or what, but these tobaccos are cured In an entirely different manner than any other pipe tobacco blend I have ever tried. Once I'd had the pipe all loaded it was time to spark it up. After I'd got the char light in and proceeded with the official light it was time to put my night cap on and get this pipe rolling . To much surprise, the first 1/3 of the bowl was not NEARLY as strong as I'd thought it was going to be. What I'd gathered from the numerous reviews I had sought out and read about this oh so popular English blend was that it is bolder than anything you'd ever experienced or could ever experience in your lifetime. However, that was not the case. You're initially greeted with a very, very nutty and almost woodsy flavor. You almost have to actively seek out the typical English blend flavors to really taste them. On the other hand, the 2nd third of the bowl was an almost entirely different experience all together. The Latakia really pulled through in this portion of the bowl. Everything you love in a good English blend was pleasantly bold in the 2/3. The woodsy , leathery, strong tobacco taste that English blends are known for is on the front lines now, and it's showing no signs of letting up. In the last 3rd of the bowl the flavor was almost exclusively a nice, rich tobacco taste mixed with a little bit of campfire undertones. A fantastic note to end on I would say. Dunhill Nightcap is a very pleasant smoke IMO.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I didn't like it. It wasn't the strength (I in fact love strong tobacco), but it was the flavor that was rather off-putting. Simply not a fan of the nightcap.

Heavy Latakia blend, great flavor. Great smoke for sitting on the back porch and decompressing from a hard day's work. Overall, my favorite Latakia blend.

Good but gives me a little bite unlike my favorite Lane Cavendish

Just purchased Dunhill nightcap & Early morning pipe. Needless to say these are tobaccos for the experienced pipe smoker. Nightcap has a little bite to it. But very refreshing smoke. Early morning is great no bite & yes I have it early in the morning as per the directions lol. Would. It again as well behave in the past.

This was not a bad tobacco, It just did not do it for me. I think I'll avoid this one in the future.
3 out of 5
So, I will admit I bought this one for the label and name. Great marketing. However, not to bash Dunhill, I found this tin to be rather disappointing. Not that I can put my finger on why, it just seemed to NOT be what I would consider my "end of day" tobacco to be. What is my "end of day" tobacco? Lane's brands, Tsuge's (autumn and summer batches), Penzance, and I just discovered Cult, which was a pleasant surprise. Another brand I bought because of the name and reviews.
I see this is getting rave reviews, so I may just be an outlier.

Love this Stuff!! If you like bold English tobacco with a Kick of Nicotine this is your brand. Burns very evenly to the bottom of the bowl.

The Dunhill Tin that I recently bought is some of the best that I have smoked. With the Dunhill name you know that you will be getting the best.
5 out of 5
Like all of Dunhill's tobaccos, Nightcap has a depth and complexity of flavors that is truly relaxing. It is the perfect end of the day long slow smoke. I smoke other Dunhill tobacco during the day but Nightcap is the one I always end with. It never disappoints!

A lot has been said about nightcap, but why talk just enjoy it.I like this better than Royal yacht, nicotine is present but not overpowering which makes this a perfect English blend.Buy it,enjoy it,save the tin and repeat.

Smoked the first bowl In the rain, pipe upside down. Still the sweetest smoke I've had. Pipe candy. Wife doesn't love the room presence but I can be alone for this one.

Nightcap has always been one of my favorites. I like it just like I like my food: very spicy!

When you open a fresh tin of Dunhill Nightcap, you know just what you're in for. That delicious English aroma presents itself, not only to your sense of smell, but to your tastebuds. Dark and heavy. Scrumptious!
5 out of 5
Nightcap is by far the best English that I have had so far, It's bold and full of flavor. I didn't have a problem with the nicotine content, but be careful if you have little experience with nicotine as you may feel sick. Overall great smoke, burned well and room note was strong, but extremely pleasant.

I just took up pipe smoking again, but this time with intrigue and great interest this past winter. And, of course, I read a lot, and read a lot of reviews on tobaccos. So, along with aromatics, which I already knew I liked, I got a tin of Nightcap because the tobacco was highly acclaimed. The first pipe full (which I can't remember if I finished or not) gave me horrible indigestion in the middle of the night. So, I didn't touch that tin again until maybe a couple weeks. Wow. All of a sudden it went from hate to love. What happened I don't know, but immediately upon light up the 2nd try my eyes grew wide and my immediate thought was "Hey. This is really good tobacco."

I have to give this all-time classic at least four stars, even though it proved to be too much for this guy! I smoked a large bowl of the "real thing" after having some knock offs of this Dunhill standby and...wow...was that an intense smoke. The room note was overpowering (my mom complained from the other end of the house...and that's a long way), and the taste was/is not for the faint of heart! I thought that I was almost a "veteran" pipe smoker. Now I know better. If you like a REALLY full-bodied, unforgiving English style blend, with just a hint of the aromatic to it, give this one a try. It's an old favorite for a reason, please don't get me wrong. There are pipe aficionados out there who will love this, as you can see from the reviews. I won't be buying anymore because I'm too much of a wimp! Don't let my experience stop you! Smoke 'em if you got 'em gents! :)

I first tried this as a step trio of Latakia blends. It is now my favorite of the three. It smokes perfect in my Meerschaum. The taste is marvelous and it is soo relaxing. Perfect after dinner and/or just before bed. Love it.

Great smoke. Quite the way to end the day, this will be in my collection always.

Excellent flavor with a pleasing room note. In my top 3. My family's favorite aroma.

Exactly what I was looking for, a strong stout pipe tobacco with the right flavor. Very enjoyable.

Woodsy flavor with a bite like whiskey, this blend is a little too robust for my taste in my short-stemmed briarwood, but is a delight in my church warden. Fantastic aroma. Perfect for a dark, rainy day!

I think this is like fine scotch. No one tries it the first time and says Wow this stuff is great. And so it is with this type of tobacco. That being said this is a VERY nice smoke. The smoke is like the flavor, thick, rich and smooth.

Great English blend, one of my top blends all around

This is a great end of the day smoke with no tongue bite and pleasant aroma. Will definitely order more.

Dunhill Nightcap is the first "English" tobacco I smoked after smoking aromatics for 5 plus years. I bought this tobacco because it was highly rated on the website, so I figured why not give it a shot.....
First smoke was not particularly enjoyable because I wasn't totally expecting the strength (even though I read reviews and looked at the characteristics of the tobacco). After another few smokes, this blend really grew on me and I will continue to smoke it.
Postivies:
+ Smoky Latakia flavor
+ Rich and robust
+ Smooth finish...much like a fine alcoholic beverage
Negatives:
-Can be a bit to strong for some

I'm only an occasional smoker, but I've been puffing a pipe off and on for nearly 5 years now. I must say, this blend is nearly one of the best that I've come across. Rich, smooth, and mellow, this tobacco blend may just be the perfect thing for me to relax with at the end of a long day. It reminds me of the things I love most in a nice peat-y scotch, and is a great stand in when I can't get my hands on something from Islay.

This is my second, and more serious, foray into pipe smoking. I have been testing OTC blends, and have liked some of them. Dunhill Nightcap is my first walk attempt into a higher end tobacco, and I can understand why Nightcap is liked. Upon opening the tin, the strong Latakia odor (smokey goodness) won me over, and smoking my first bowl sealed the "I love this blend" deal.
Full body smoke, burns well and cool. Virtually no "bite", and I tend to smoke hot. I really enjoy this blend, and I have ordered another 3 tins!
If you are new to pipe smoking, and are looking for a full flavor tobacco that doesn't bite, try Dunhill Nightcap.

This is a delicious blend of my two favorite tobaccos: latakia and perique to which I was introduced while in my 20s. As you probably know, presently only 16 acres of perique are cultivated ,in my native Louisiana in St. James Parish which is about 140 miles from my home, depending. Nightcap by Dunhill is a delight, excellent for a late afternoon smoke to flavorfully ease you into a pleasant evening.

Not the same amount of Latakia as the old original but still a great English blend with a more fragrant aroma now.

A high-quality product, very well packaged, but there are just too many better english blends out there for this to be a 5-Star blend. Very hot burning yet, curiously, hard to keep lit. This reminded me of when you are half-way through a sandwich and wind up just picking out the very tasty meat because the bread, cheese, etc. just weren't good enough to justify the calories.

I’ve heard so much about this blend that I had to try it. It doesn’t easily fit taste categories; it has a robust flavor that is pleasant and not overwhelming, as many non-aeromatic blends are. Certainly worth trying no matter what your predominant tastes in tobacco are.

This tobacco is worth its praise. Mushroomy, Smokey, spicy, sweet etc. Just a wonderful tobacco, but.. both tins I purchased died very quickly. They became flat, no nicotine punch to speak of, and lost all of its flavor. This could be a freak problem, but seeing as how wonderful the tobacco was, the fall was that much more disappointing--hence the two stars.

Strong, bold, and smooth. This has become one of my favorite smokes

I purchased a Tin of this to try. I really liked it strong but no to strong for a nightcap. It’s been the last thing i smoke each night and some mornings too.
