excellent smoke!!!

A lot of moving parts in this one. Takes patience and about 1/2-2/3rds of a bowl to reach full development. I recommend the slowest tempo you can possibly do using the breathe method. As you maintain a cool smoke, and a constant amount of smoke in your mouth without fully expelling, and an occasional retro-hale, all the different tobaccos will take a turn and eventually combine into something great. Smoke it too fast and you’ll have a bowl of peppercorns to deal with; and wonder why anyone would this smoke spicy manure with any pleasure. Cheers!

I LOVED it and ordered the 8 oz

Good, mellow smoke, especially if mixed with something like Cult Conspiracy, as I do. Burns a little hot near the bottom of the pipe. However, it makes a good, clean-burning smoke if crumbled and packed properly.

I love my English/Balkan/Scottish blend. PP has to be one of the best of the genre. Well balanced, flavorful, rich and engaging experience. Smokes best when allowed to dry. If you've not had this all the rave your read is spot on. This is one great blend!

Amazing blend. I prefer something more aromatic and still liked this.

Delicious. Tastes almost likr plumes in chocolate smoked pudding. A must buy!

There’s a reason why this is one of the most sought out English blends. It’s simply the best!

Really like this blend. Earthy,fruity,smoky

Keep this well stocked
Need to use more secure packaging; the shipping box almost didn't make it intact

As always you guys delivered on time and really enjoyed the Plum Pudding Tobacco. Thank you.

I wasn't sure how I felt about this after the first pipe, but after a week or so, it's easily become a favorite. The flavor sticks with you after smoking and pairs well with other things.

This is an awesome smoke. Every Bowl seems to be better than the last but different.

Top of my rotation

I’m not a tobacco connoisseur so take my rating with a grain of salt. It’s OK not great for me.

What a lovely experience. Smokey, piney and aromas I can’t quite pinpoint. Smokes like a fine Scotch tastes. Fantastic.

My absolute favorite pipe tobacco. It doesn't taste like plum pudding, but it tastes and smells great. This is what I think of when I think of pipe tobaco. Great aroma and highly recommended.

This was our favorite tobacco that we purchased. We got a tip from the mud chop piper that this was a really good tobacco and we are not disappointed. You do need to break it up a little bit but it is a great blend and the balance is perfect 👌
5 out of 5
good stuff. wife hates the aroma!
5 out of 5
This stuff is way too expensive but way to good not to buy it. I smoke this when I need a break from my C & D blends. It's damn good.

I like mixing with a less potent tobacco. It's not an every day for me, but I like straight virginia's

This plum pudding is a must have if your a aromatic smoker. This Cyprian Latakia is is one of those must have Tobaccos. Plum pudding was a big factor in changing the way I felt about Latakias, now I can’t get enough of it. This would a comfort smoke for any piper, new or experienced.
5 out of 5
This stuff has ruined me from any type of latakia blend. I can't try any others without comparing it to this one. I Love the cut, the tin note reminds me of beef jerky and the smoke is smooth as fresh paint. I always try to branch out but I keep coming back
5 out of 5
This is definitely one of my top five blends and is in my rotation. This non-aromatic has so much flavor and things going on. All of the components are blended in such a way that non are overpowering. I like Latakia only when it is used to mellow out other tobaccos and in Plum Pudding it is a great asset. The nic-hit is less than medium and will not give your stomach the rumba. The room note is fine, but don't expect raves. Once the tobacco gets lit and stays lit, it has few relights. It doesn't burn hot or bite, but I smoke at a leisurely pace. It has a good aftertaste. This is such a nice smooth smoke that is a perfect lay back and relaxing experience. Plum Pudding may be my favorite smoke, but there are so many great tobacco blends to choose from. Whether you are a Aromatic or Non-aromatic smoker, you can't go wrong with this Balkan blend. Highly recommended.

Great! Never boring!

I'm new to pipe smoking, having smoked aromatics and wanting to try something different, I bought both of these blends as a deal bundle after hearing good reviews on both tins.
Both PP and BS are similar in how they taste but their are slight differences.
In PP, their is a dry fruit top note and after lighting a few bowls, the flavor takes on many different layers of fruit, and has a slight peppery note (probably the perique?)
In BS there is a anise, clove-ish top note but it is not very prevalent after lighting a bowl, the flavor like PP, tends to be complex and instead of taking on the dry fruitier notes like PP, there are slight citrus notes that play a part in the blend and a slight clove taste.
Both blends crumble easily and are very enjoyable. I find are best smoked after a long day at work or before going to bed. The nicotine strength in both blends isn't too strong like others may be. However, it is mild and is balanced.
The only cons I can find is that BS is slightly harder to keep lit but it may be due to me just still learning on smoking a pipe.
I also advise that these blends shouldn't be smoked on quickly. Take your time smoking these blends, or you will risk getting an unpleasant aftertaste from burning out the tobacco too quickly.
If you like finding and picking apart rich and complex tobacco blends or want to delve into something different from the usual, I'd highly reccomend checking out these two tobaccos.
You really can't go wrong with either one.

My favorite blend. Perfect balance and strength. Just the right amount of kick, sweet, spicy, smokey and complex.

#1 favorite pipe tobacco!!!!

I'm working on my 3rd tin of Plum Pudding and I still go back and forth on it. It'll always be in my rotation, don't get me wrong, but do I LOVE it? Some days I think "my god this is a truly sophisticated and incredible blend--totally worth the price." Other days it won't stay lit, the flavors are unruly and unbalanced, and I simply can't seem to figure out what I enjoyed about this blend in the first place. It's an ever-lasting gobstopper of smoking experience and I do recommend it to everyone at least once. See if it's right for you.
5 out of 5
This is the best pipe tobacco I’ve ever smoked. I’m new at this and don’t know much about “complexity” or “blend”,I do know the amount is well above what I expected.

So much happening. Fine rooms of mahogany leather and deep cherried woods. Horse farms in the distance. Latakia oriental Baker Street sleuthing dreams.

I loved it. I didn't smell or tasted Plum but it is a dark fruity taste that made me a fan. Ordering more right now.

A familiar old friend and walking in the open air.

It's packaged with unusually thick soft plug like slices. The flavor is smooth, sweet and mild. A superb blend. No shelf is complete without a few tins of Plum Pudding.

It is a very good product if you, like me, like strong tobacco blends rather than aromatic or mild ones: Great aroma and taste. It burns slowly. You can smoke to the last gram of tobacco in the pipe bowl.

Slightly sweet and not heavy.
Cannot taste any bite or burn.
A good choice.

Honestly, the first time I tried this I thought it tasted like body odor. I almost threw it away. Then I tried a bowl of Early Morning Pipe and I really liked it. It had a mellower version of that flavor. I decided to give plum pudding another try. I LOVE Plum Pudding now. I dont know what happened. I can't stop thinking about how much I love this flavor. My description of it sounds very negative, but it isn't. It really reminds me of body odor, bicycle inner tube and leather gloves. It doesn't sound good from my description but it has become probably my favorite taste ever. I feel like a jerk because I really love this blend and I know I'm not conveying that well. Give PP a shot and if you don't like it give it one more try. It took 2 bowls for me to fall in love with this, but I am hooked. I absolutley love it.

I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about until I finally gave it a try. I’m so glad I did. This is the most satisfying tobacco I’ve smoked in the last 6 months. It’s superb tobaccos are delicious, smoky, spicy all at the same time. I especially like the Latakia and oriental mix. Perfect blend that burns slow and nice. It’s aroma is so pleasing and addictive.

Excellent blend -dry out 10 grams at a time for 36-48 hours and enjoy burns well nice white ash and great flavor long easy smoke lights easily

Best stuff ever. This is the perfect smoke.

This aptly named blend recalls delicious flavors of spices like clove, nutmeg, and allspice, along with its sweet aroma of dried fruits.

Wow. I read a few reviews singing the praises of this tobacco and the way it was described, I had to try it. The first few puffs after the initial char light made me think, this is good, perhaps not exceptional. After relighting and all the way to the bottom of the bowl, I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is truly a delicious, smooth, cool burning product. The smoke is rich and flavorful with absolutely no tongue bite. I'm hooked!

Smooth and enjoyable, this is my everyday smoke.

Great tobacco at fair prices.

Both are my favorites I love the taste of the Virginias and Perique. The Cavendish adds depth to the flavor. Overall I like both.
5 out of 5
Oh wow! This is quite possibly the finest blend I've ever smoked. It checked every box.

This has been the only tin I’ve bought twice. I taste something different every time I zen out with this. Great balance of flavors and tobacco types. I highly recommend.
5 out of 5
What can I say that has not been said of SPC Plumb Pudding. Everything about it is pure smoking bliss. Not an everyday smoke, but a treat when you get a break from all life throws at you. There is a reason this is held in such high regard, quality. Recommended.
5 out of 5
Had a friend tell me about this and purchased a few tins to try out. It's become one of my standbys that will always have a place on the tobacco shelf.
5 out of 5
This blend is awesome, this was my second English blend and now it my favorite.
5 out of 5
Love this tobacco so much. As soon as I opened the tin, I knew I was going to love it. Complex and rich, this tobacco creates a very satisfying smoke with a depth of flavor I wasn't expecting. This is now an easy choice for my go-to smoke.
3 out of 5
Good, but I am into looking for tonnage in my Perique now.
5 out of 5
Great smoke rich and complex flavors! It’s a real thinker.
4 out of 5
As a pretty "no fuss" occasional pipe smoker (a couple times per month) I am just as happy smoking something like Captain Black as I am anything else. But, given all the hype surrounding this blend, I thought I'd give it a try.
On a positive note, all the different tobaccos that are in this blend are all extremely well balanced. You can taste just about all of them, but none really steal the show. I was also pleasantly surprised by the sweetness coming likely rom the cavendish component, again perfectly balanced. Tastes great.
There are fewer negatives than positives, but it was a little tough for me to keep it lit. It's a little pricier than your average tin. And finally, with all the hype I was honestly expecting a little better - is it a great blend? Yes. Is it the best like the hype would have you believe? Probably not.
Overall - complex, perfectly blended, and pleasantly sweet. Pick a tin up if you get the chance, but don't feel like you're missing out if you don't!
5 out of 5
Wow this tobacco is great just as a previous reviewer stated buy the 8oz container because it is totally worth it I can't get enough of this.
4 out of 5
Plenty of flavor, but I would like for it to be a little sweeter. A little Lane BCA augments it nicely.
5 out of 5
Try this tobacco. My first Balkan, and my only regret is that I waited this long to sample it. Lives up to the great reviews, will be a permanent part of my rotation.

Plum Pudding came as a recommendation and I’m so thankful I took it. Absolutely fantastic! Tin is fantastic, perfect moisture, easy to pack, and perfect smooth smoke. Can’t buy enough of it!

Bought for my husband and he absolutely loves it!

I will make this simple: if I was a castaway on an island I would want crates of this stuff with me. It is that good. A rich, satisfying english style smoke, I am adding to my stock of it.
5 out of 5
I’m a beginner piper and have been smoking aromatics and wanted to try something non-aromatic and I made the best choice in picking Plum Pudding! I did make the bad decision of buying the 2oz tin instead of the 8oz....

SPC's Plum Pudding is a very pleasant tobacco that smells and tastes great, burns cool, and is sweet without being cloying. Go ahead, buy it! You know that you want to!

Great full bodied tobacco my favorite. Simply in my humble opinion one of the best I have have ever smoked in my going on 45yr career
5 out of 5
It took me a few smokes to get it but it definitely grew on me. Medium flavored with a good amount of bite.

Both are exceptionally good in flavor. Only slight difference between the two is the Plum Pudding has a notably mellow smoke where the Bengal slices are a bit more on the milder side.

Okay, so I've been smoking a pipe for about a year now, and I have previously gravitated to mostly VA and VaPer blends, though I found I love some English blends like Petersons Old Dublin and Ashton's Consummate Gentleman. I didn't quite know how I feel about Latakia until this morning, this is on a whole new level. It is deep and rich and this blend has to be the smoothest English style blend I've tasted yet. I'm definitely adding this to my rotation.
5 out of 5
This is really outstanding. It has an amazing complexity of smoke and whiskey - without tasting flavored. Just fantastic.
I did splash a little Glenfiddich into the jar for some extra punch!
5 out of 5
Excellent choice for a well balanced, complex blend of Latakia, mature Virginias, Perique, Cavendish and Orientals that make for a superb bowl of enjoyment.

This was my first non-aromatic blend and I absolutely loved it. I'm a newer pipe smoker and am building up my rotation, and this will definitely be keeping it's spot. Very tasty!

This is what Gandolph smoked after smiting the Balrog on the Bridge of Khazad-dum

Wow!!! I’m a novice pipe smoker and haven’t tried many blends yet but I must say that this tobacco is amazing. You can taste all the different flavors and it burns so smooth. I’m definitely going to purchase more.

Simply a complex and flavorful smoke. A prince among blends!

Very smooth. Great taste.
5 out of 5
Really is all the hype! A must have on hand at all times!

When I first popped the tin, at first I was cautious - the smell reminded me of Drum Halfzware rolling tobacco, which always left a foul aftertaste in my mouth when I was still a cigarette smoker. Then I crumbled up a slice, rubbed it out a little, and packed it into a big cob...
Ho. Lee. Crap.
Plum Pudding is delicious. I like it more every time I smoke it. The sheer complexity of the flavor is phenomenal, and I can only compare it to an good single-malt Scotch. It’s like puffing on a slice of well-smoked brisket and a dark chocolate brownie in the best possible way. Might be my new favorite. If you haven’t tried it yet, do. Just. Do.
5 out of 5
I was probably a little late to the bandwagon, but Plum Pudding is definitely one of the top 5 tobaccos I've smoked. I stocked up on a few tins of it, so hopefully it will age well. I'll definitely be coming back and buying more and more of this!

Pipes and Cigars was one of the easiest, user friendly websites to order product from. The product I ordered was superb, the ordering process couldn't be easier and the delivery time, from ordering the product to delivery was excellent.

this blend is outstanding. very well rounded and balanced. consistent flavor throughout the entire bowl. one of my all time best blends.

Upon taking up the challenge to try these two powerhouses, I have to judge the winner to be Plum Pudding...it still is a winner that’s tough to beat

I enjoyed. Very satisfying.

Plumb Pudding is a rich an flavorful blend. Flavors are subtle and not overpowering. A good smoke with a great aroma!

This tobacco gets better and better the more I smoke it. I love the changing taste and the crumbling flakes. It's my second all-time favorite tobacco and I keep bunch of it cellar-ed. This is a unique tobacco that everyone should have in their rotation.
4 out of 5
I bought this mississippi river and pp special reserve all at once, i rather enjoy this blend its very intense and has numerous complicated flavors that my palette is simply not developed enough to pick out just yet but it is tasty. It smokes pretty cool and dry although needed a bit of drying time for me. The special reserve I'm gonna leave unopened to age for a year or two although im sure that's going to be difficult.
5 out of 5
Glad I tried it. Tastes great, burns well and no tongue bite at all.
4 out of 5
Good smoke, but not a fan of the insence aftertaste... For some reason it is just to much for me. I like a tobacco that tastes like tobacco and this is not it.
However I could tell right away that this is a work of art. Very complex taste. Enjoy!

Great tobacco. Has a wonderful arroma. I would buy this again.

Now one of my all time favorites. A real rich, Balkan style blend flake.

Plum pudding and Mississippi river have to be my favorite smoke right now. I can smoke both of these any time of day and sit back and relax.

I am still quite the novice, however I find my taste is solidifying towards English and Baltic blends. What I find pleasing about this blend is that the taste is layered compared to other Baltic blends I have tried. If Plum Pudding were a beer, it would be a complex IPA. The tobacco is a little spicy up front and mellows as you smoke through it. It leaves an awesome aftertaste in my mouth when I have finish the bowl (I have never experienced this from smoking any tobacco before). My only complaint is that Plum Pudding tends to be a difficult initial light up if I don't pack the bowl perfectly. It is the standard for me by which I compare other English and Baltic blends.
4 out of 5
Nice mellow smoke. Easy to smoke all day long.
5 out of 5
This will become one of my regulars. Flavor is very complex and changes as you go down the bowl. I had no problem keeping it lit and leaves very little dottle. Straight out of the tin, it wasn’t too wet or dry. It’s a very relaxing smoke with a decent nicotine hit; wouldn’t recommend as a morning or early afternoon lunch. Perfect for after work or before bed.
5 out of 5
I get a different taste marriage with every new bowl. The Latakia is not strong like the description would have you believe. Cool burning. No tongue bite. Thick smoke. It's kind of addictive. Slightly sweet, a little spice. The more you smoke, the more you'll like the complexity.
5 out of 5
It's either this or Bengal Slices as my top Latakia blend.
I'm trying to cellar as much of both as my budget will allow as I find this and Bengal Slices as the only two tobaccos I wish to regularly smoke.
Let it be known that I am not an all day pipe smoker, only having a bowl or two each evening after dinner. However, these two blends are what I crave each evening, they are just that good!
5 out of 5
I used to stay clear of English blends because of some earlier, absolutely horrible experiences with Lakeland aromatics. But then I tried this as part of “Saved by the bell”. I’m in awe of this masterpiece. It’s almost literally on my mind every day. I’ve caught myself up at 3am, smelling it in the can. I can’t say enough good things about this stuff in 2000 characters. I only have two complaints. It’s kind of expensive and the can doesn’t seal very tightly so you have to stay on top of your humidification. But I’m just nitpicking.
4 out of 5
Great Latakia-forward blend. The Cyprian is sweet and plays well with the orientals to give a nice cedar/incense note. The Perique gives a tiny bit of pepper and prune/raisin taste in the background, and the Cavendish quietly blends everything together and smooths it all out. It’s a medium-bodied blend in terms of taste, and could be an all-day smoke for some. The nicotine level is fairly mild.
4 out of 5
Tried it on a recommendation from a YouTuber. It was a bit harsh right out the tin, so I let it dry out for awhile, what a difference, much more mellower and flavorful. Nice room notes, could taste the different types of tobacco. It didn't disappoint, going to cellar the rest for a couple of years see if it will improve in quality and taste. Goes good with the morning coffee or a satisfying dinner. Would highly recommend it.
5 out of 5
I’d heard numerous pipe smokers singing the praises of Plum Pudding and decided to try it recently. It’s already edged out Dunhill Nightcap as my favorite English, and not just because Dunhill is no more. It’s a nice, bold, sweet smoke with a bit of a floral note of some sort. Tastes and smells divine!!!
5 out of 5
I will caution you...I know nothing about pipe tobacco except for some of the basics so if you are looking for a review to help you make up your mind then this is not the review for you. That being said I found Plum Pudding to be a deep rich and satisfying smoke. I thought that my Scottish Breakfast tea went really well with it. Definitely can detect the Latakia presence.
4 out of 5
This tobacco has the most intriguing smell that has kept my wife and I doing our best to pinpoint, but the only thing we can agree on is that it smells 'old', as in from many years ago, not a criticism of the tobacco's age! The taste is unusual, complex, rich and pleasant. It also seems quite strong, my first small bowl gave me a nicotine rush. I'm awaiting a new AristoCob to really test this blend properly but that damn smell, what does it remind me of? The closest I've got so far, is a British Railways carriage compartment during rush hour. Its a smell that reminds me of smoking rooms in a private mens club, other memories of a similar bygone age are evoked. Best I can do chaps.
5 out of 5
I am a Mac barren bold Kentucky and old dark fired fan so this one is a little settle in the nicotine department. With that said the taste is quite good and sweet almost like pudding lol. It's easy to crumble up and load and it smokes at a pretty good humidity level straight out of the van although it could dry out a bit too be better. This isn't on the same page for me as bold Kentucky but it's not bad either. I don't see myself buying another can but that doesn't mean you won't love it I can E why a lot of people do like it. I'm just a bigger fan of the fire cure Kentucky blends myself with loads of nicotine and strong Maduro style flavoring
5 out of 5
This is my first crumble cake, and what a delight it is! It is complex, clean, smokes cool, burns to fine gray ash, and has a pleasant room note. It is suitable for most of my pipes...not just the ones I reserve for latakia blends. I have to remember to pack lighter than normal, but the smoke is long, flavorful and pleasant. It goes into my rotation, for sure.
5 out of 5
Absolutely amazing. This is my current favorite, if you're on the fence about getting some, or maybe you only smoke aromatics, don't worry, go for it, you will be impressed.
5 out of 5
My new favorite. A rich smooth smoke. All day enjoyment!! I love it.
4 out of 5
Excellent! The only reason I submit a four and not a five is that I do not see Plum Pudding as an all day smoke. That said, all other considerations work together to put this blend on the top shelf for sure. Tin note; rub; lightability; burn; room note; finish .... a genuine treat. "Plum Pudding " strikes me as a misnomer. True, it is smooth, as is pudding; it has a certain sweetness, as does pudding.....but, "Plum"? How about " King's Choice " or something like that? Names aside, this blend is just the right amount of latakia and perique. The sweetness of the Virginias is not obscured but is augmented nicely by the exotic character of the latakia and just the appropriate measure of perique. Through the nose, Plum Pudding produces a pleasing pinch ; for the tongue, there is plenty of zest. Personally, I find ginger tea to be a nice accompaniment. Pudding is full enough and lively enough to warrant no more than a medium sized pipe ..... perhaps a large one in the open air. Plum Pudding is a must!
5 out of 5
have smoked a number of tins of plum pudding and enjoy it. SPC's assortment of tobaccos can be held among the better blends available in the market.
5 out of 5
Good tasting tobacco. Been smoking 5 plus decades...this is one of my favorites.
4 out of 5
I have to say right up front that I prefer aromatic pipe tobaccos. However, Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding is a pleasant and enjoyable non-aromatic smoke. The little bit of Latakia in the pudding, gives the tobacco a little zip, and I have to admit I kind of like the taste of Latakia.
5 out of 5
While this tobacco has a somewhat smoky aroma from the can and while breaking it up, the flavors from all the different tobacco come through nicely. It has a very nice flavor and is turning out to be my favorite blend in my collection so far.
5 out of 5
I am relatively new to trying different tobacco's lately, but so far this one is my favorite
4 out of 5
Mild flavor. Burns even. Will use again

There is a reason this is so highly regarded. Would smoke this every chance I get!
5 out of 5
It is good. I may buy a few more to cellar.
5 out of 5
I didn’t care for this the first time I tried it. I gave it a second shot and it really started to grow on me. Especially later in the bowl.
5 out of 5
Smokes smooth and has a peppery taste I like. If you are missing your Frogmorton this is a great replacement.
5 out of 5
First few bowls I really was not getting the full experience, the flavors just were not there. Finally I set a pipe full aside on a paper towel in the morning and smoked it at night. One of the best blends I have ever smoked hands down! Completely worth the money and lives up to the hype, I am satisfied.
4 out of 5
This is a mellow and satisfying tobacco, but my only reservation is that the name is misleading. "Plum Pudding" sounds like something aromatic, which it is not. It is basically an English.
5 out of 5
It was very good
5 out of 5
A most complex blend, PP is rich, slow burning and satisfying. A good all-dayer, it's mild enough to smoke frequently and has no bite. I'll be getting some more.

never had pipe tobacco in the cake form before I like it a lot
5 out of 5
Great flavor and smokiness. A+

Why did I wait so long to try Plum Pudding? Smokey, rich, not harsh. Immediately one of my favorites.
4 out of 5
Normally I smoke heavy English/Oriental blends with lots of latakia. My other tobacco is Virginia/perique. This was likeable but certainly different. Unlike most blends that I try occasionally, I probably will buy some more of this one.
5 out of 5
This tobacco is some of the best that I’ve smoke. It’s a very smooth and relaxing smoke.
5 out of 5
I predominantly smoke cigars, but really enjoy my pipes in cooler weather. This blend gives the closest to cigar strength I've had. With amazing flavor to match. The dark fruit note I get is my favorite in cigars too. Easily my favorite latakia blend out there.
5 out of 5
Man this stuff is good! I'm not a huge fan of Cavendish but the Cavendish in this has a way of complimenting the taste. I was hesitant of buying this because i never seem to like tobacco that's usually very hyped up. I guess my taste is just different than most. But man this stuff is GOOD! like I'm honestly blown away. Even the after taste is good.
5 out of 5
I love Plum Pudding - I keep trying to find something better - but always come back to this when I want a really satisfying smoke. The 2oz cans are just not enough! I go through them too quickly, so I ordered the 8oz can to keep me stocked up. I wish they offered this stuff by the pound!
5 out of 5
A little more Latakia than my favorite Mississippi River, but makes for a change when you want something a little more smokey. Joe just doesn't make a bad blend. As with Mississippiu River a little more expensive but worth every cent.
5 out of 5
I've been smoking a pipe on & off since 1966. When some of my favorite brands "went away" in the past (Bengal Slices, the original John Cottons, etc) I migrated more toward cigars because I couldn't find anything that hit all the right buttons in the tobacco that was available. I heard that Bengal Slices and some of my other old favorites had been re-created, and I excitedly tried them all... they were pretty good, but not quite what I remembered. After reading some reviews about Bengal Slices, someone mentioned Plum Pudding, so I decided to give it a shot... there it was; that elusive "something" I had been missing from the Good Old Days....and probably better! I immediately ordered an 8Oz can and a 4oz can of the Plum Pudding Reserve! If you are a lover of the old English blends (especially Balkan Sobraine's offerings), don't hesitate to try Plum Pudding. I'm a happy camper :)

Take chocolate, pepper, a fire place, and a sweet tea. Roll that up in a creamy coffee and to me that pretty much sums up this delicious blend. I love everything in this blend but was very sketchy on the cavendish. I have had some serious tounge bite in the past but not here. This is not a Lat bomb at least to me and I have never had a complaint on the room note. This is my come home after work and relax blend, well this is actually my at home all night blend. I packed it probably every method possible and have used slow, normal, and have to finish a bowl right now cadences and every bowl is a pure treat to smoke. Some don't like it but try it and see what the rest of us love in this. It is definitely something that has what your looking for in every genre of tobacco offerings. If you can enjoy this in a cob just for this blend after a few bowls you can't stop smoking this till your tounge turns to leather and your lips are stained with the lady "nicotine". Thanks SPC and Joe for a wonderful blend.

One of the better tobbaco that I have tried it does suck that everyone is sold out but Bengal slices are a close match but in my opinion not as good as the plumb pudding

Outstanding English blend. This is the only review I have ever written, but I just had to compliment this blend. Many blends get built up by hype and the momentum carries them to the best seller list, but Plum Pudding is FOR REAL. If you like English blends, please give this one a try. It was a little damp when first opened, but a little drying time is ALL it needs. Happy piping my friends!

Unlike most pipe fans here, I'm not a fan of this one. I'm somewhat new to pipes (again) after smoking them for a bit then went on a cigar kick for years (still enjoy a stogie from time to time, but pipes are taking back over). I've tried several bowls of this out of several different pipes and just don't like the "sour" flavor I get from this tobacco. It's almost reminiscent of smoking meat with green red oak wood. Very unpleasant and I don't think it was the pipes or my technique as most of the other tobaccos I've tried (from OTC brands, bulk from local tobacco shops, to various other branded tins) and found most ranged from acceptable to great. So far Plum Pudding and Sir Walter Raleigh (regular) are the only NO GO tobaccos I've found. Hopefully your results will be better, but this one is off my list for the foreseeable future.

This is a tobacco I waited to long to try. Now that I have tried I want MORE!!. Ever so smooth and tastes great. The wife now askes me to smoke this when we sit outside in the evenings!

This is a very good latakia based tobacco. It's smooth but somewhat bold. Absolutely one of my go-to tobaccos, especially since Frog Morton is not longer available. I give Seattle Pipe Club and Plum Pudding a A+++
5 out of 5
Tried this tobacco for the first time, and what a wonderful surprise! Smooth, full bodied smoke with a complexity of smokey flavors and a hints of spice. Opening the tin for the first time was a great experience for the nose too! A great smoke to finish the day. This tobacco will now a part of my rotation going forward. So happy to have discovered it!

It's OK, I didn't have the same experience like most have, I found it to be rather bland ...Would I purchase again, probably not.

Nice evening smoke.

I had tried this about six years or so ago and found it to be decidedly average. I put down my pipes for a few years, then smoked stuff I had cellared, and recently have been purchasing tobacco again. Either this tobacco has undergone some changes or my tastebuds had been burned out a few years back. This is a great, meaty, sweet and salty blend that talks back and gets more complex the further you get into the bowl. Perhaps my first taste of it was when it was in it's infancy (I remember the announcement that the Seattle pipe club blends would be available to the public, I was living in Oregon at the time). The tin I just got from P&C, like yesterday, with a bit of time in the air, tasted mature and well rounded.

Plum Pudding is simply amazing. Easy to crumble pack and light. Tastes great. Sometimes overhyped tobaccos fall short Plum Pudding doesn’t

A friend of mine gave me about two bowls worth of Plum Pudding for me to sample, Once I lit up my pipe I realized why he had given me such a small amount, Plum pudding was so good, it was almost too good to share . The aroma was a bouquet of floral, incense, and herb as well as a rich smooth smokiness' with just a hint of spice. Just a beautiful smoke. I immediately purchased six ounces from Pipes and cigars.

Simply outstanding!!

Ok , am I the only person that didn't fall in love with this tobacco...I was a little disappointed because I thought the way everyone was talking this would be the last tobacco I would ever want.....All I can say is I missed something..go with Frog Morton instead...Just my opinion

Good start, full bodied. Taste continues all the way to the end of the bowl and through the last puff. Very little bite even after two or three bowls. Bought some more.

Smooth smoking and well balanced tobacco of virginia, latakia, perique and cavendish.
4 out of 5
A very nice tobacco quite reminiscent of Bengal Slices or Fusilier’s Ration. Similar texture, similar flavor and aroma but missing a little something, either a particular ingredient or slight difference in the way the tobaccos were matured/seasoned. It smokes smoothly and evenly. It’s very good and worthwhile having in hand, particularly when Bengal Slices or Fusilier’s Ration are unavailable.

This will be a go to blend for me from hear on. Definitely lives up to the hype. Such great flavors.

I'm a big Latakia fan so this definitely didn't disappoint. Sweet and savory and rich all in one! I've only smoked one bowl of it and I'm hooked!

This is my absolute favorite tobacco. The perfect daily smoke.
5 out of 5
Sweet, heavy, smooth , a truely unregretable smoke. Reminds me of what was described in C.S. Lewis’s puddleglum’s favorite tobacco in “The Silver Chair”
5 out of 5
My first impression of this was that it was rather mundane, nothing special. Usually have 5 or 6 tobaccos around and reach for whatever I find attractive at the moment. Plum Pudding ruined my system. I found myself reaching for this again and again. This is a truly balanced English blend hitting all the right notes at exactly the right volume. Nothing detracts from the other elements. This blend is truly magnificent.

I really enjoy this tobacco it has every tobacco I like in it; it has lat, perique, Virginia, & black cavendish. Thanks for the best blend. If you haven’t tried it, try it soon. Lee

Somewhat new to pipe smoking but after two years I have found my favorite blend in "Plum Pudding." Like other Seattle Pipe Club blends I have tried, "Plum Pudding" has very complex flavors why being very smooth. I definitely pick "Plum Pudding" over "Potlatch" because it does not give me tongue bite where "Potlatch" does. The spicy and sweet flavors complement each other much like salt and caramel do. Finally the crumble cake flakes add to an already interesting tobacco when I am packing my pipe. Order the 2 oz this time and I promise you will be ordering the 8 oz on your next order after that so you don't run out!

This is a great blend to end the day with, or as I like to do, pack a bigger bowl and sip on it all day long. Great mouth feel, complex flavors, but a little off putting room note for those people who don't enjoy the smell of heavy pipe smoke. My tin came a little drier than usual, but smoked cool and even.

It's not just a like, it's a LOVE IT!!!

It took me a few bowls to come to a solid opinion on SPC's "Plum Pudding", but I think I can honestly says that it is a very good Balkan blend. Of the two SPC blends I've tried, I think "Potlatch" is even better! But "Plum Pudding" is certainly close behind. I know one thing for sure: I'm definitely going to try all the SPC offerings in future.

Excellent, rich blend. It is up there with Dunhill Nightcap, although others around enjoy the smoke better.

Ive never tasted anything this bad, Im sure there are people that like it but I am NOT one of those people.

So far, this has become my favorite blend. It satisfies all my desires for deep & rich smoky flavors and Latakia eclecticism, while remaining smooth as silk. I cannot wait to try the Special Reserve.

Balkan kake with a delicious top dressing that provides a cool smoke with yummy mouthfeel. The perique is light, and comes through on occasion.
5 out of 5
This is a nice blend it's got a lot going on in it. The more I smoke it the more I like it.
2 out of 5
Everyone has different tastes. Most people like this. I don't. It's monotone. It has a strong "smoky" flavor. No complexities, no richness, just smoke. It DOES have a decent lingering aftertaste with very little bite. That is a huge positive. But it's just smoke, smoke and more smoke.
I don't like this Joe guys blends. Mississippi Mud was HORRIBLE and this is just a step up. If that means anything. I would like to avoid this guys blends if possible.
5 out of 5
I'll keep this short and simple. Damn this stuff is GOOD.
I only wish my tongue could handle smoking all day, it goes numb after around 2 bowls a day. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to pull me away from this. Smoking this in one of my meerschaum pipes is a fantastic experience.

It's been over a year now that I have been enjoying English blends. Just when I feel I've found my favorite, another comes along to take its place. Well Plum Pudding has just won that title. I usually smoke simpler blends, even a straight Burley which is my go to, all day smoke. I have without a doubt an eclectic collection of blends. Sometimes an aromatic other times an English. THIS blend is like having them all at once. And yet the genius of it as it states is its well balanced mix. It REALLY doesn't become overwhelming nor does one leaf invade the other. They take turns giving you the ultimate taste test. The rest of the reviews here say it all. It IS a fantastic smoke and is going to be a hard act to follow.

The other reviews say it all. I agree A great smoke. Flavor is beautiful and the flavor lasts from the first light right down to the last puff.

Just when I think I've found my ideal English I go and try another that takes the formers place. That's exactly what happened with Plum Pudding. Yes it's a Balkan blend but with a slight twist that doesn't take away from the traditional flavors you expect in a Balkan. The other reviews here describe perfectly its flavor. So I'll just say that this an excellent choice!

Based on a recommendation by Sal in P&C's Customer Service (Thank you Sal!!), I tried Seattle Pipe Club's Plum Pudding. This crumble cake is wonderfully fragrant from the tin and prepares, packs, lights and stays lit easily when dried for a period prior to use. There is so much going on with this complex Balkan style tobacco (smoky, spicy, sweet and incense-like) yet, to me, it is perfectly balanced with no one ingredient overshadowing/overpowering another. Complex, interesting, flavorful and balanced, Plum Pudding provides a well-rounded and satisfying experience. Clearly a stand-out. Well done, SPC!

Well, I bought this blend looking for blends similar to Nightcap, but better. This isn't one. That said, it is a great blend. The smoke is thin, there's smokiness, a little spice, and some sweetness, but as other reviewers have stated there's something else in here that I can't put my finger on, but it throws me off. I'll smoke it occasionally, but Its not a blend I'm afraid to run out of. I recommend you try it, it is beautifully blended so that no one flavor overpowers the others. Maybe you'll like it more than I did.

I really enjoyed this plum pudding! My first impression after opening the tin and taking a whiff was " I can't wait to load this stuff and get started"! It crumbles very easy. I like to keep mine alittle more on the chunky side when I crumble it mostly because I'm smoking on my drive to and from work with the windows down. Helps keep the tobacco in my pipe and not fly out when it catches some wind. To me it's sweet and flavorful and mellows out and becomes creamy once you get under half a bowl. I'm sure this will be a regular for me. Give it a try!

I feel its a work and smoke kinda mix. I got done with one bowl and was ready for another. There was no bite ever and it was very constant all the way through
4 out of 5
It's very unique. It makes for a nice change. It's cold here and this fits right in.

I didn't think anything could beat Dunhill Nightcap for my number one smoke. But plum pudding has done it. It's now my top smoke. It's just the smoke I've been looking for.
5 out of 5
I orderd the small size first. After I tried it I realized it was not enough. So I orderd the 8ounce.
5 out of 5
This is a truly outstanding tobacco, particularly well suited for the end of the day when you're free from distractions and interruptions. My palette is not especially sophisticated, so I cannot wax eloquently on its various subtleties and complex nuances. I will say this however, the smoke is rich and creamy. Big puffy clouds of it. Latakia is certainly present, but the other players balance it out beautifully. A truly harmonious blend. I especially like the crumble cake aspect. Makes it very easy to prepare. Char, tamp and enjoy. Burns slow and even. No bite. Flavor is consistent to the final puff. Burns to a fine, white ash. This one has found a permanent home in my rotation which include several Dunhill and G.L. Pease blends. Preferred pipe is a Bulldog, but it's excellent in a Cobb as well.

Reviewed it before and I still love it.

SPC Plumb Pudding is an amazing smoke. Its constantly changing flavors as the bowl goes on. Each flavor keeps a classy and luxurious mouth feel. Smoking this tobacco makes me feel like a million bucks. But you dont need Parker cash to feel rich, just go to Pipes and Cigars and order up some Plumb Pudding.

Great smoking tobacco. Every flavor of the blend is present. Best when dried a little. If you are a fan of this kind of blend, it is well worth a try.

Every now and then you will try something that blows your mind. This was one for me. Super well balanced any time of day, any time of the year, in any climate. Can you put some more stars in your ratings, because this one needs another star. I smoked 4 other latakia blends today that are equally recognized as highly regarded fine tobaccos. Nightcap, 965, H&H Admerality, Peter St. 52. This one beat them up. I will be ordering this on a regular basis.
5 out of 5
Do not buy this stuff. It tastes terrible, burns hot and does all kinds of bad things to your pipes. The worst thing that happens is if you buy it there will not be enough left for me and it will become like Penzance and unavailable. I am stocking up on this stuff and I do not want to see any "out of stock" or "unavailable" notations, so please find something else to smoke

I'm ordering from y'all every check great prices on tobacco I'm shocked that there is no tax I was paying tax on my tobacco at andys tobacco shop no I don't have to pay tax now I thank pipes ant cigar store now I can smoke my favorite pipe tobacco from y'all Seattle pipe club I buy the finest

I didn't love this one, to be honest. Maybe I live in the wrong climate, or maybe it was the wrong time of year... but early summer in Texas? No, wouldn't do that again. I'll definitely give it another try in a cooler climate, maybe even next month on the Oregon Coast. Will report back.

I had heard great things on YouTube, so I decided to order a tin and it was well worth it; this tobacco is AWESOME. I love the signature latakia smokiness and also the underlying fruit note. My grandfather really enjoyed it as well. It packs very nicely, and I was even able to set my pipe aside for a few minutes and pick it back up to find it hadn't yet gone out. Highly recommended to those of you who like latakia. I think I sense an 8 oz tin in my future.

Outstanding!! So much hype made about MR but surprised that Plum Pudding was the one that really deserves more accolades. Great after dinner.....it's like a rich dessert. I encourage you to add this to your rotation.

It seems like every SPC tobacco I try is my new favorite. Plum pudding is such a great smoke! Rich and satisfying, love this tobacco! P&C delivers accurate and on time.

This is the kind of tobacco that grows on you. At first I didn't know what to expect, but as I started packing my first couple bowls I found myself enjoying this wonderful premium. Fresh tobacco even more and more. The tin note is unbelievable, fresh, smokey but a cozy smoke, a very natural comfortable type of smokey aroma. The aroma from a fresh opened tin is just absolutely superb, it's a smell you'll never forget a smell that is as unique as the blend itself. Most of my tin was broken tiny bits of kake tobacco with some nice solid chunks and good sized bits and pieces. The taste of this tobacco is like none other, light on the heat yet full flavored, pillowy big clouds of natural smelling jolly goodness. Robust and rich flavored, slightly peppery and just a tad wee bit of sweetness that blends together perfectly with the earthy, woodsy. Smokey and rounded out balanced complexity of this excellent treasure of a pipe tobacco. Get some Cornell&Diehls pirate kake and immerse yourself in the smokey natural full on goodness of this brilliant blend, but be warned ad the can says, it is very addicting and gets better after every toasty bowl you pack. Happy puffing Mateys!

Outstanding blend!hard for me to describe all the fla ors in this one,but they all are on board for a delightful smoke.Pair this one up with coffee, and oh man!what a treat.I was sad when my bowl ended.this is as good as it gets.

Maybe the best latakia blend ever made...it's like eating a full seven course meal compared to a light snack (not that a light snack isn't great sometimes). This leaves you full and satisfied. It's ridiculously delicious, everything a latakia fanatic would want. It's so hard to describe, it's just plain wonderful. If you are one of the rare breed that just likes latakia or thinks it's just ok, try this, you'll be a latakia fanatic in no time.

If you find that Mississippi River is a bit to mild despite its delightful taste, try Plum Pudding. Deeper, darker, and fuller than its sibling, it is a very satisfying smoke. Good ‘English’ blend rounded out by cavendish to make a solid medium smoke with no bite. I found the crumble cake easy to break up, and easy to keep lit.
5 out of 5
I loved this blend. Very complex, nice flavor and, for me, the perfect strength. I'll definitely buy it again.
4 out of 5
Well, I've bought two small tins and now an 8-oz tin, so I suppose I've found something I like. It's strong enough that I know I'm smoking something, but not excessively so. I can't say it is sweet: to say a tobacco is sweet makes me think of Beech Nut chewing tobacco from my younger days, and it certainly isn't that. But it's certainly not acrid. It tastes like tobacco: no fake (awful) cherry flavor. Now I might not mind a hint of chocolate. But that's off-topic. To summarize, I will reiterate: I have bought several tins of this stuff, and for me that indicates a trend, and a trend indicates that I just might like the stuff.

It's like having a party in your mouth and everyone is invited.
Full flavor, but not too strong. Lat lovers delight. Believe the hype. I prefer this over the Esoterica Penzance.

Some call Plum Pudding a balkan. To me it’s closer to a Scottish blend. Either way, it is a mild-medium blend with a nice amount of Latakia that is balanced out with the cavendishes. In a way, it reminds me of a softer version of Hearth & Home Fusilier’s Ration. It’s not strong, but it is dark and smooth, and very enjoyable. My tin of PP needed a bit of drying time to make it easier to keep lit. The crumble cake was easy to break apart, and it burned well right down to the bottom.

As a life long pipe smoker, I have come to appreciate the robust and spicy nature of the Balkan, Latakia, and Oriental tobacco blends. My recent purchase of Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding "fills the bill" perfectly and is a very welcome addition to my rotation.. I appreciate the subtle spice tones and pleasant aroma.

Plum pudding had an appealing description however my wife didn't like
the smell. It was a bit harsh on the tongue but only just getting back into pipe
smoking, i'm sure I will need to build up from "mild" before tackling a Medium/full tobacco.
I did enjoy the Missouri Meerschaum Independence Day 2015
3 out of 5
I had high hopes for this after reading reviews that rated it higher than Mississippi River. I like MR, but I thought the addition of the Cavendish in the Plum Pudding would be a neat addition. I was wrong.
The tin note told me immediately that it was way heavier on the Latakia than MR. I like Latakia in small amounts. It was in nice semi-flakes. I smoked in in my green Mr. Brog Chocla pipe. It loaded and lit well. The first few puffs were a blast of Latakia followed by a big kick from the Orientals. It was almost harsh. It had none of the creamy smoothness of MR. Complex?...Yes, but in a very ham-handed way. It smoked all the way down and the flavor never changed.
If you are a fan of big, bold, in-your-face Latakia and Oriental blends, you'll love this. As for me...I prefer the more subtle and refined MR. To each, their own.

Tried a couple of different English blends, never really cared for them, more of an aromatic smoker, but after reading all the reviews on plum pudding, I bought a 2 oz tin. The smokie, spiciness reminded me of one my favorite cigars, I ordered a 8 oz tin.

This has everything that I love about English blend tobaccos going for it. This blend is bold and smoky, earthy and leathery, and smells like a campfire when smoked. Couldn't ask for more.

Ordered both Missippi River and Plum Pudding to see and taste the hype. Plum Pudding does it for me bowl after bowl. Still on the humid side. I prefer to fill a bowl ant let it sit overnight or a few hours during the day and light up.

I smoke english as a rule. Been smoking a pipe for about 15 years. I don't know what it is about this offering. It hints at something spectacular but never really delivers. There doesn'seem to be much body or finish and has an airy, wispy quality about it. I suspect I'm jaded by too much latakia. Don't get me wrong, I suspect a person who is used to aromatics may find this quite compelling. I however, just kind of felt....meh? Just to warn the die hard bold english blend fans, I think you may be a bit disappointed with this one. It is quite obviously quality tobacco, just doesn't seem to have much oomph.
