Blending - Dark Burley

Dark Burley is a classic American pipe tobacco component. It is bold and a bit spicy in flavor and is somewhat reminiscent of cigar leaf. Due to its high nicotine content, it should be used sparingly. Just a little bit will significantly increase the body of a blend.

Prince Albert's Bodyguard
A nice spicy burley with good body and depth of flavor. Cocoa note is up front and molasses comes in stronger as the bowl smokes down. Nicotine is on the strong side of medium. The smoke and mouth feel are good but a hard pull can give a dry mouth. Good by itself if you are a burley smoker and mixes great just remember it is spicy and somewhat strong so go slow and easy. Excellent for a small bowl if you want a quick nic punch.

A great addition to less nicotine heavy blends. about 1 for every 8!
An excellent blending tobacco. Perfect for adding some OOmph to your less than satisfying blends. Just 1oz. added to 8oz. of lighter nicotine tobaccos makes a huge impact. Just what I need to make my yummy tasting blends more satisfying. Great when added to a chocolate and vanilla mix. The burley really helps carry the flavor of the other tobacco. I love mixing 1oz. of this with 4oz sutliff black vanilla, 2oz sutliff chocolate mousse and 2oz sutliff Dark chocolate. The room note is deep and rich cocoa/vaniila (kinda like a hot chocolate around a campfire) but unobtrusive.

It has its place, but understand what it is
Similar to but about 1/3 as potent as "cigar leaf". Still pretty "cigary" though for a pipe guy. About 25% this Dark Burley and 75% blending " Turkish " makes a nice smoke, like a really good non-chemical treated foriegn cig, but the nic hit will will give you some wooziness as if you load a big bowl. Better in a little Lark. Dark burley is more towards the cigar side of tobacco.

New Blend
I used this as my second filler in a blend that I found out is pretty common. Lots of people are mixing virginias with burlys and black cavendish. Now I see why. My blend wouldnt be the same without these spicy notes of caramel. Dark burly is usually labeled as a filler but this is where most of my flavor is coming from. With just a little brown sugar and vanilla in the background this stuff is perfect.

the perfect answer when you want a little more oomph
Often i find myself wanting to amp things up a little with either my own blends or with existing blends, and this is the answer. It adds a little more strength and a little bit of body and is also satisfying on its own.

Satisfaction
I was smoking some aromatic blends that i had bought at my local tobacco shop and while sweet and flavorful and aromatic they didnt hit the spot. It felt like i was smoking air. I was a cigarette smoker for many years. This tobacco made the smoke from my blend hit my palate the right way. The way a cigarette would. I probably used an ounce in a twelve ounce batch. Its strong stuff.

Great Smoke
A strong burley lovers dream. I like it blended with a little red Virginia to sweeten it up a bit.

Bl dark burley
The must have been in everything back in the day. Mixed with Va flake yields a nostangic smoke. Great for adding horsepower to lo octane blends but of course it's going to dominate 90% of the time aswell. That's not so bad. Oh and did I mention this stuff is FLUFFY. If you think you'll need one jar, get two.

Great Blender With Decent Nicotine
Great blender. I do not smoke much Burley on it's own, but this is great for adding nicotine to your favourite wimpy blends without ruining the flavour.

Give Your Blends a Kick
5 stars not because its delicious or my favourite smoke, but because it is what I hoped and needed it top be. A bold, nicotine-soaked burley. I got this specifically for the purpose of making a few blends more satisfying nicotine-wise without changing them too dramatically.

Cigar leaf?
I love this tobacco! It's strong, rich, and very reminiscent of cigar leaf. For my taste it's too strong, so I've blended it half-and-half with AAA Burley, which adds some sweetness and tones down the nicotine. This blend (dark and AAA) has quickly become my go-to when I'm in the mood for burley. It's stronger and more complex than most burley blends.
Customer Testimonials
This probably not intended for singular use but when i want a Power Punch of strength quick fast and in a hurry, this in a litle bowl does the trick like nuthin else that I know of besides Tambaloka. Other than that I sometimes use it in 4/1 ratio with the Princes Albert and H&H's Andrew and especially with Half and Half blend.

Great tobacco flavor. It mixes well with lighter tobaccos to add substance, flavor and nicotine content.
