This is a little-known component that I use for a variety of purposes. It is a dark tobacco, similar to Burley that is cured over open fire, giving the tobacco a smokiness that is much more subtle than Latakia, a deep earthiness, and a decent wallop. I like to use a bit in a Latakia-based blend to give it a touch of sharpness, or to add body to Virginias. High in nicotine, moderate burning quality.
Please note: Some of our blending tobaccos arrive in a dry state from the manufacturer since they don't add humectants to these tobaccos. We aren't allowed by law to add any moisture to the tobaccos we sell, so they may arrive rather dry, but will rehumidify easily.
Hands down this is the best tobacco that Pipes and Cigars sells, that nobody else sells!!! It has plenty of smokey flavor and vitamin N. and I just cannot say enough about this tobacco. The blending tobaccos at Pipes and Cigars are excellent and cannot be bought just anywhere. If you like dark fired, dutch style tobacco with lots of nicotine, then you are sure to love this. Its very potent so use sparingly.
This is the cornerstone of most of my blending. I like robust tobaccos and I require a large dose of nicotine. This gets the job done.
This is an excellent Burley tobacco for adding some flavor to a blend. It goes really good with a Virgina because of its relatively high nicotine content.
Outstanding tobacco. Blends well with everything I've put together. Great 1:1 with Matured Virginia Cavendish for a hearty all day smoke.
