Blending - Izmir Ribbon Cut

This has the same flavor as Izmir Fine Cut, but in a longer, slightly thicker cut for blends where a slow burn is needed. Moderate nicotine, cool burning. Its overall character is rich and earthy with a nice aroma. It mates particularly well with Latakia.

Please note: Some of our blending tobaccos arrive in a dry state from the manufacturer since they don't add humectants to these tobaccos. We aren't allowed by law to add any moisture to the tobaccos we sell, so they may arrive rather dry, but will rehumidify easily.

Pleasant Turkish Tobacco
Turkish/Oriental Tobacco is my new found love. I never realized how good it was until I smoked Izmir's Ribbon Cut straight out of the bowl with nothing else blended in. It has a clean, unique flavor that draws me to it often. I also use it to enhance and liven up my homemade blends. It arrived fresh, filled with aroma and ready to smoke.

Really nice Turkish, I actually like smoking by self. Very smooth, surprisingly smooth in fact.

This is a wonderful oriental. Where the Smyrna is a little musty, buttery, vintage tasting, this is brighter, floral, and very smooth. I only have four blending tobaccos. (Smyrna, Izmir, Latakia, and AAA burley.) But I am learning day-by-day how to blend them to suit my mood and palate. With only these four, there are so many expressions one can construct. Sometimes I like a hearty Balkan that conjures images of a professor in an oak paneled room with old books. Sometimes I prefer a contemplative English blend rich with fragrant notes of incense and florals. Tobacco is wonderful. And blending your own is such a rewarding endeavor-- akin to preparing your own meals just as you would have them. Highly recommended. God bless, Jesus saves.

C & D Izmir
One of my favorite tobaccos on the planet. You can't go wrong with this one.

Excellent blender
A light, hay-like Turkish that can be smoked solo, but may be a bit bitter at the end due to high oleo resin content. Unlike most Turkish, not a condiment tobacco - you need about 15-20% to make a statement. I usually use 25% in blending with a light Virginia such as Lane MV-100. Very low on nicotine ~1%. a favorite of mine for giving that Turkish touch.

good blending tobacco
a good blending tobacco; mixes well with Latakia, Virginia, and Smyrna

Found this to be very dry. I added Izmir to a moist tobacco, added a brandy flavor, and was satisfied. May order again, I like to experiment.

Good condiment tobacco
One of my favorite blending Turkish. I use it in a five tobacco blend to mellow out the base Burley/Red Virginia I use.
Customer Testimonials
It blends well with about 5 parts latakia and a little Green River Black Cavendish. Alone it seems too harsh for my tongue.
