Blending - Yellow Virginia

This is the classic yellow Virginia with a citrusy tang and a good dose of sugar. I use it when a blend needs sweetness and/or a bit of acidic “zing”. Try to blend with tobaccos that burn coolly as it will become ashy if it gets too hot. It’s low in nicotine, may burn hot.

Lemonhead
I'm new to pipe smoking and I've been doing a lot of reading. One of the things that interests me is the oriental or Turkish tobaccos. I was especially intrigued by the Katerini. I looked for it on the internet as I have no car and i found out that no one is selling it in ounces, you have to buy a whole pound. So i bought some and started to experiment with it. Up to this point I had only experinmented with Red Virginias and I decided to try something different. I had read an article about a blend that was mostly Katerini and Yellow Virginia. So i decided to try that. My blend is mostly Katerini and Yellow Virginia with a little Perique and Stokkebyes 201 thrown in for extra flavor. When I got the Yellow Virginia in the mail I tried it and was pleasantly surprised. It definitely has a citruisy taste and is more lemony than anything else. Great stuff! It went well with my Katerini and they together produced a nice lemony tang. Very good!! After i added the rest of my ingredients i had a blend that tasted like some type of lemon cream desert. I'm very pleased!😎👍💥

Sweet & citrus
Mild, sweet with lemon note - high quality stuff for blending, also enjoyable on its own. I use it for RYO blends, to slow down the burn rate a bit of other faster burning tobaccos

It has its niche
I played with this and the matured red Virginia together in a pressed navy kake blend with white rum. Yellow Virginia can really nip the tip of your tongue if it's too heavy in the mix. A 3:4 or less ratio with red seems to balance it. I've gravitated towards the longcut Virginia blend as my base recently. It's a little more predictable

Sweet and smooth lovely yellow Virginia
This is great sweet citrus tobacco. I like to add to English blends because they usually use reds and this really gives a great final touch . Goes great with latakia IMO .

Yellow Virginia
I really like this tobacco for making my own blends. Usually paired with some Latikia, Cavendish, Perique or Izmir.

Nice note to a blend
A bit sharp on its own, but in a burley, red Virginia blend it adds a bright note. Typically I use Burley, Red Virginia, Izmir, Yellow Virginia and a touch of Perique in an 8/6/4/2/1 ratio.
