Excellent English Blend, on par with Nightcap. I have this in the morning with a dark brew coffee and a drop of heavy cream. It smokes cool and dry, no bite, and just a tingle in the throat from the Perique. This is also my favorite of the Captain Earle's Blends because it has more depth and flavor than the top notch Ten Russians. The hot-pressed cake is indeed a crumble cake, and easy to prepare (I just rip off a piece of the top like a flake.

MUST USE CLAY PIPE !

You must use a CLAY PIPE for this blend. Otherwise it will not the marry tarry flavor. If you use wood or even cob, you're wasting your time here. The blend is amazing but you must have a clay pipe. I've never seen a blend so specific to a certain kind of pipe before.

I don't want to write a review on this because I'm afraid everyone will buy it up.
But this is strong and rich without bite. I don't like high N blends but I like this. There is a high N hit off this that will knock you off your barstool so don't puff to hard. Be careful. Don't want to overdo it.
