Cornell & Diehl Green River Vanilla

Cornell & Diehl Green River Vanilla is one of their most popular aromatics. It begins with Burley grown in the Green River Valley, a strain that is commonly used for making black Cavendishes because it takes on flavors very well. The tobacco is sugared and toasted and then a rich vanilla flavoring is added to create a smooth and soft tobacco with a sweet, mellow flavor and a room note that's absolutely intoxicating. When you wan t a sweet treat, try C&D's Green River Vanilla.

Get past first impressions
Today is my first time trying this tobacco. I don’t smoke a lot of vanilla blends. Open this up and thought to myself I’m not gonna like it. It looked wet and had a gloss to it and I just wasn’t sure it was gonna taste good. First couple lights, not too impressed. As the bowl went on, I really started to like it. Smells good has a good flavor smoked well no burn or bite. I would recommend but with a little preface as to doing away with first impressions.

Where's the vanilla?!
A little too moist, had to dry it about 2 hours. More of a chocolate smell out of the package. Mild enough smoke without bite. Flavor more like unsweetened chocolate taste. Almost a distant comparison to Smokers Pride Black Cavendish which I consider a half step better. More of a faint chocolate vanilla room note.

The room note is pleasant
The room note is pleasant and mild. At the first light the vanilla is very noticeable and the flavor lingers through most of the bowl then fades some through the balance. I think I will buy this again.

A Nice Smoke...
Opened the bag to seemingly wet tobacco. It wasn't, just has a sheen to it. Pleasant Vanilla aroma from the bag. Packed my Meerschaum halfway. Lights easily. A really pleasant taste-not harsh or overpowering. Enjoyable. Nice Vanilla taste.

I did not care for this...
I did not care for this tobacco. I found it to be too wet and rather bland in flavor. YMMV...

Unremarkable
I only had two bowls so perhaps it is premature to write this review. Of course, I may have had more than two bowls but this is so unremarkable I have forgotten them. It smokes very cool and very smooth, but I find the flavor so dull as to be non-existent. I can not recommend it and will not be buying more.

Good but not the best
I read the reviews that this had but want impressed with the vinilla aroma or the flavor. The one good thing it doesn’t have a bad after taste.

Green river
It's alright, it has a somewhat chemically smell out of the bag. But if you can get past that it's decently smooth with a nice room note. Would recommend sutliff vanilla custard far more than green river.

A little disappointed
I am just a beginner so I went for the brand with big hopes. I don't taste or smell the vanilla aroma. The after taste is nasty. Not for me.

One of my favorite new finds!
This is a great blend - really like the vanilla. From my first bowlful, great flavor, smooth, doesn't bite. Will be buying more than 2 ounces next time.

Interesting mild aromatic.
Bought this just to try, didnt have huge expectations, very pleasantly surprised. This one came dry and ready to smoke, burned nicely and evenly without any bite, the flavor isnt very strong but pleasant with a minty cool sensation, overall I liked it, not something I would smoke all day but a bowl after a meal goes nicely.

c&d green river vanilla
not very good by itself, weak. however when mixed with other tobaccos adds alittle vanilla to the blend

Great Smoke
I was wanting to try something different from Lanes BCA and I choose C&D Green River Vanilla. Green River is a mild Vanilla flavored Cavendish, as opposed to Lands BCA fruity flavor. It is a refreshing change from BCA, and when I opened the tin I was greeted with a pleasant Vanilla aroma. It smokes great and gives off a pleasant room note. It burns evenly with a minimum of relights. I throughly enjoy this tobacco as a occasional change to BCA. If smoked slowly, it doesn't bite your tongue which is true with most tobaccos. C&D Vanilla is a pleasant change to whatever you smoke, and is a well made quality tobacco. It an enjoyable tobacco and worth keeping a couple of tins around as a pleasant change to whatever you smoke.

wonderfully understated.
I'm always looking for vanilla that's not Cavendish to add to my strong vitamin N blends and this burly offers a even burn. However imo this leaf is incredibly flavorful and it over powers the top flavor drastically when smoked by itself

Nice aromatic
I don't usually smoke aromatics, but I have been enjoying this one. I like the vanilla aroma, and the burley comes through at times, mostly at the beginning and the end of the bowl for me. It burns very evenly, and is easy to load up. I may have to try more C & D aromatics now.

Pretty Good.
I was expecting more vanilla flavor but this is still a really great smoke.
