This smells and tastes a bit like graham crackers. Often, I like to mix this with Orlik Gold. I usually add a bit of the smokey Match 965. But it's also very nice on its own.

Very nice right up there with Stokkbye luxury navy flake.

Light Virginia and lightly topped
A good smooth, all day smoke. Very good in the morning, low on nicotine, just enough coconut flavor to enhance the smoke. Needs a little dry time and if you smoke slowly no tounge bite. Great for beginners, and good for veterans too.

One of best bulk flakes
One of best bulk flakes available. It's my all day smoke. It maintains its character through the entire bowl. I prefer it in a deep, small diameter bowl. It really softens up when there's a little ash on top.

Navy flake is my everyday
Navy flake is my everyday smoke. This blend holds it's own against the most pedigreed of Navy flake and at price that truly makes it an affordable everyday smoke. No nonsense. So if you are looking for a real treat maybe you should look elsewhere. Lol. If you want a no nonsense, affordable, everyday tobacco this would make an intelligent choice.

Smores
Probally my favorite if it's packed right it hits strong. It takes a bit of relighting to get it going because of its fresh cut. It has a sugar marshmallow taste and out of the bag it smells like grahm crackers. Pairs good with a campfire and a cookout. It won't burn away too much if you put it down.

Good Stuff at the Right Price
This is one of my favorite flakes. I really like to smoke it in a cob pipe, I think it helps that sweetness really come across in a pleasant way. Nothing harsh or bitter about this tobacco, as long as you smoke it slowly, the quality really shines through. When I bought it, I thought that it would be a lot like Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake, but it isn’t. It has its own thing going, it is mild, grassy and sweet and just hits the spot for me. I will be stocking up with more in the near future.

Flavorful but not as perique rich I was hoping for like Peter Stokkebey navy flake. Smokes more like round slices or bullseye flake. Not bad for a substitute while your favorite is backordered.

This is one of those winners from the first taste! No bite, no harshness, just a creamy pleasant sweetness. A favorite for sure. The room note is pleasant, especially pleasant when reentering a room after walking outside. There is that pleasant sweet taste that lingers on the tongue for a while after finishing. These things make it one of the best blends.

This is absolutely one of my favorite tobaccos of all time. I love the pouch smell of it. So good. It is something anyone who likes Virginia blends needs to try and maybe even someone looking to try them for the first time. If this was the only tobacco I could ever smoke for the rest of my life, I would be ok with that and I am one who likes a large variety. One of the best ever.

This one has definitely made
This one has definitely made it in my permanent rotation. Excellent blend, sweet aroma and taste. I stocked up on this one because I have a feeling this one will only get better with age. Smells like graham crackers in the jar, so sweet and smooth without a bite. Burns nicely. Try it or don't so that it stays in stock.

Give this one some age
Wait six months while this simmers in jars. It's a very tasty Virginia flake, slightly more honey toast than lemony tea flavors like the more expensive flakes, but out of the box it tends to be a bit nippy. Wait for it to turn a golden brown instead of bright tan and this is a friend no one can afford to be without.

This flake is pretty much
This flake is pretty much a straight-up Virginia blend; mix of bright and reds. The pouch note is very fragrance as if it were slightly cased but that is not so. The flavor is very light and uncomplicated. A nice study in the native nuisances of Virginia tobaccos. The experience is pleasant and enjoyable but this is not going to strike one as strong, full or complex. It is what it is a straight Virginia. Nice all day smoke. Very meager room note. If your are looking for a VaPer comparable this mixture is not it. It is unassuming and basic to the tobaccos used. Nice nonetheless.

OUT OF THIS WORLD!
I have never had a tobacco as good as this stuff. The smell is essentially perfect, the flakes are awesome, there's very little bite, and the room notes are heavenly. That said, I really enjoy mixing a pinch of Rattray's Bagpiper's Dream in with the lux. twist, because the combo is even more mind-blowing, if possible.

Fantastic blend, I bought this as my first Virginia blend and I could really taste the grassy, citrus-y and hay-y flavors come through, the nicotine isn't really a punch to the face either, would definitely recommend for newer and intermediate smokers

Delicious Raisiny Virginia, Flawless at a Great Price
I love the unique sweet, raisin bread smell this has when you open the jar. Smokes very smooth, my go-to for blends and beautiful on its own. Smokes perfectly, easy to rub out and retains that same raisin bread note when you smoke it too.

Newminster No. 400 Superior Navy Flake
08 OCT, 2020 Can you say "BLUEBERRY MUFFINS" This is the note that I get from the baggie. It is a very sweet smell which includes Honey, bread dough and minimal spice. This seems like it will be a very light smoke. I am hoping the bread dough comes out in the smoke. One other item, I do not detect any grassy hay or citrus like odors and I do believe rum has been incorporated. This does smell very appealing and it is going to be a treat when I get to it which will be very soon. I fired up my Scott Hudson poker loaded with SNF. It is very gentle and smooth, tastes like a fresh slice of bread from the oven. This is delicious to say the least. This blend does get a little spicy around the first quarter of the bowl and maintains this spice till last puff. Not much of a NIC hit until you get to the end of the bowl and then watch out. Your head may be swimming. This is definitely a Virginia lover's tobacco.

I am a born Virginian
I am a born Virginian and have smoking pipes and cigars for over 50 years now. My Grandmother smoked pipe, my Great Aunt smoked Blue Ribbon cigars and most of my uncles also smoked pipes and cigars. You may ask why I am sharing this with you. The answer is that through experience I am knowledgeable of most of the available tobaccos today and I find Luxury Twist Flake to be among the best.

Enjoyable
Considerably lighter in both room note and flavor than what I've come to expect from a Navy Flake. Much more of the brown sugar and nutty flavors than the spice of something like Gawith Luxury Navy Flake. Very enjoyable though. Definitely worth trying.

Tasting Mild
I enjoy the flavor at first before, I slowly smoke this, and, it lasts a long time because, I like feeling the effect which, turns strong as, in a lot too fast. The steady mellow feeling, since it's mild enough to keep going with flavor, keeps my attention for, the time to change pace from, an all day smoke.

Sweet Excellence
I could smoke this blend alone for a long time and not get tired of it. If you like a sweet, natural smoke this is a must.

Fantastic Virginia Flake
I ordered 2 oz. of this tobacco to try it out. The beautiful, long, dense flakes were delivered to me with an absolutely perfect moisture content and smoke well right out of the bag. The flakes smoke equally well rubbed out or folded and stuffed. The tobacco ignites and stays lit easily; it provides a slow and cool smoke if I don't push it too hard. When pushed hard, it gets a little hot and bites slightly, yet it's still one of the best behaved Virginia flakes that I've ever smoked. The flavor is delicate, however, and smoking too quickly will bleach out the flavor profile. When puffed moderately, though, the flavor starts out light and builds in richness and creaminess throughout the bowl; the last 1/3 of a bowl is a real treat. Winston Churchill supposedly said that to make the ideal Martini, one should “whisper 'vermouth' to a freshly poured glass of gin.” This seems to be the philosophy used in blending this navy flake; there's just a “whisper” of sweet rum notes on top of the tobacco's natural flavor. I will definitely order more of this stuff, and it may very well become my go-to Virginia flake. I highly recommend it.

Looks Can Sometimes Be Deceiving?
I’ve never received compliments on how “pretty” my tobacco has looked before, this is a first. These flakes do look a lot like slices of marbled rye. But personally, since some of my favorite tobaccos literally resemble crap, I couldn’t care less. How does it smoke? Luxury Twist arrives at the perfect moisture level straight from the bag, folds and packs easily, stays lit all the way down to the ashes. There’s almost no bite here at all, even when puffing hard and fast - it’s one of the most agreeable Virginia flakes I’ve ever smoked. The tangy, bready, and citrusy flavors of the leaf pair extremely well with the caramel and honey casing, if that is indeed what this casing consists of. The top-note here is very apparent in the flavor profile, particularly in the first half of the bowl - although I would not call this an aromatic, as the flavor of the Virginia is always dominant and the room-note is totally neutral. I suspect some aging would make this flake even better, but I’m not about to turn my nose up at something I honestly enjoy. I’ve only started putting a dent in the three ounces I recently ordered, and I’m already thinking about getting more.

Gave 402 a 4 because very good a thick smoke good ash and very balanced call it French toast up here in Albany N.Y. it could use more aging I've been stock piling pounds of it they say aging it for two more years improves it and makes it hopefully closer to 5.I love it and try to not smoke it to much and get to familiar

Something new
This was my first VA, so I wasn't so sure what to expect as far as a flavor profile. I have been smoking only aromatics and English blends since I picked up pipe smoking, so I wanted to try something new. Muttnchop Piper said this was one of his favorite blends, so I thought it would be worth a try. I did not disappointed one bit. I like it's subtlety, slightly sweet with a bit of a good robust flavor. I needed something to break up my rotation a bit, and this is a nice addition.

Great One!
This is one of the first tobaccos I ordered online, at the first I did not appreciate it. At first I kind of regret purchasing it, but as I went along and learned how to smoke Virginias, I came back to this tobacco and now it is one of my favourites. I will definitely order more and keep it in my rotation.

Newminster for the win.
So after several bowls of each of these flake tobaccos I have come to prefer the Newminster Navy Flake over the Luxury Twist Flake. The Luxury twist has a topping that just hits me wrong compared to the Navy Flake which I detect no flavoring. I much preferred the natural tobacco flavor of the Newminster #400 Navy Flake.

MY GO TO TOBACCO
I swear this stuff smells just like "Playdoh" to me. But it sure doesn't smoke like it. My very favorite go to tobacco right now. Previously it was Luxury Bullseye Flake (still one of my favorites). LBF has a slightly stronger spicier profile from Luxury Twist Flake. Vitamin N on both of these is about medium. Luxury seems a little smoother than LBF to me. You should definitely give it a try. Someone said it has a floral flavor. I did not detect any floral essence.

Good quality virginia
Good, solid navy flake. Plenty of sweet Virginia flavor without being overbearing. Very nice burning characteristics. Cool smoke. Was a Capstan Medium smoker for some 30 years, this is now my standby Virginia flake. Could have arrived a hair bit moister, my only criticism.

I'll admit that Dunhill Flake is my favorite; but saying that, this is the closest runner-up that can be purchased in bulk.

Superior navy flake
I have been really enjoying this tobacco. The tobacco was perfect straight out of the bag. The tobacco also burns relatively slow, cool, and I enjoy the flavor.

Great for a cross to non-aromatic
Much like how I enjoy the notes of different coffee beans. This also gives certain note that a normal aromatic smokers can enjoy. Some call it a grassy/sweet taste. But I've found it to be much more like graham crackers. It is the perfect crossing point when you want to step away from your usual aromatics. Break some off and rub it out is the best way I've discovered to use it.

A good mild flake
This Navy Flake gives a mild cool slow burn. I put flake in the buttom half of my favorite long stem pipe, then fill up the remainder with either Newminster No. 31, or sutliff mellow, or Lane burley and black. Makes for a good smoke.

Always in the rotation.
I'm primarily an English blend smoker, but I ALWAYS keep a jar of Luxury Twist Flake cellared for those hot summer afternoons when an English blend is just too heavy. Bar-none: IMHO, the best Virginia blend available today in bulk. Great fresh, though just a bit grassy, but jar it up for even a month or two, and it transforms into a nice clean, slightly sweet pleasure. Leave it cellared for a year or more, and it turns magical. Just buy it - you won't be disappointed.

Straight Virginia with a sweet twist
Delicious tin(bag) note. Burns well with very few re-lights. Moisture content is spot on. This blend has a very pleasant light sweet topping reminiscent of Samuel Gawith's Cabbies Mixture(which is hard to find in stock anywhere). A Straight Virginia blend that is a nice change of pace from my traditional English blends. Rub out a couple of flakes and enjoy!

Enjoy and Taste a Treat
I like the mild smoke and satisfying strength when, I'm appreciating sweet flavor. I like the before smoke smell of this tobacco while, burning it smells great, stays slow and well. I enjoy some satisfaction that continues to be rewarding as, this will be well worth continuing to love.

I started smoking this flake several years back, and really have enjoyed it since the first time I tried it. What I taste when I smoke is hay, some sweetness, and a little lemony tanginess. This flake is what I go to when I take a break from aromatics and just want a good straight tasting tobacco!

Being a relatively new smoker
Being a relatively new smoker I found myself tending to get tongue bite from loose pack tobaccos (I’m sure from lack of experience) so when I found out about pressed tobaccos and fold and stuff I tried it and it has become my preferred way to smoke. I really enjoy P+S luxury twist flake with it’s lite casing and mild flavor. I’ve never written a review before but had to for this purchase. When I’ve purchased pressed tobaccos from my local tobacconist they always gave me beat up chunks of flake and little intact pressed flakes. P+C delivered a beautifully packaged and preserved 8oz of this great tobacco leaving me thoroughly impressed. I will continue to buy from them due to the great service and shipping I’ve received. So this review was as much for P+C as it was for this great premium tobacco.

Good but not my cup of tea
This is a very good flake if you like light Virginia. I got it to see how good the quality is and it is pretty good. I usually smoke heavier hitters but I enjoy this for the first bowl in the morning. It is clean burning but needs to be rubbed out. I have tried fold and stuff at all moisture levels and it just gets too wet by half way down the bowl. It has a yummy toast flavor that gets sweeter as you go. To me it burns a little warm and does bite if you don't use a slow cadence. All in all its a a nice smoke just not my go to blend.

A Wonderful, Reliable Friend
This flake is a perfect all-day companion. Straight Virginia, with a barely-there casing that sweetens it just a hair. I love opening the jar and sniffing that slight mix of honey, brown sugar and bready comfort. I love that I can fill a pouch with just enough flakes to get me through the day. I love knowing I can fill my pipe with one full flake, rubbed out a bit. I love that it lights easily, stays lit and doesn't bite when smoked with a good cadence. I love its thick, creamy smoke. I need stronger blends later in the day, but this is a solid companion while the sun shines and your coffee steams.

A fantastic flake that I always keep around. It smokes great and could be a daily smoke if I smoked everyday. A standard that if you haven't tried yet, you need to.

This is a great all day Virginia flake with a wonderful room note. Girlfriend approved.

Just Okay
Too aromatic for me, and bites me whenever I look at it sideways. Room note is pleasant, however.

Newminster 400 SNF
Bought this last month for the first time. I've tried several other Navy Flakes before and this one is my new favorite. Avery nice smell to it and a pleasant aroma. Burns well, right to the end with little dottle. A little moist upon arrival, you may wish to dry it a little.

Good smoke
I'm a pipe smoking newb and this was my first VA flake. I enjoyed this smoke, stays lit and burns evenly. I've read posts where people say 'smokes down to a fine ash', but never experienced that until this tobacco. Smoke it slow and no tongue bite. I'm definitely going to buy more.

A great Flake at a Great Price
The Newminster 400 Navy Flake is my faborite pipe tobacco. It tastes like clean, dry hay smells. The description says it should age well, but it never lasts long enough fior me to find out.
5 out of 5
Delicious!
I really enjoy this tobacco. I do not find it overwhelmingly sweet due to any topping, only a nice clean Virginia taste. I will say that it is a moist tobacco and needs some drying which has helped the "gurgling" aspect as seen through multiple different pipes.

Beginner and fist pipe tobacco
I have just started pipe smoking and 402 Luxury Twist flake was my first tobacco to try out. For me all I could taste was ash & more ash. Need less to say.. I didnt like it too much. I have tried other kinds that I prefer. This one was just not for me at this stage of pipe smoking. I will more than likely give it a shot later on once my palet is more advanced.

Another Hit by Stokkebye
Delightful straight flake. Good all-day smoke.
5 out of 5
Stokkebye's LTF
A nice quality VA in compressed layers of leaf that have been 'twisted' and thinly sliced. A bulk flake that will satisfy that particular itch very nicely. The VA sweetness is present and the flavors develop from a fresh flake that has been roughed up a bit and burns relatively easily for a 'flake'.

Okay. Over-topped, slightly weak, and absolutely needs age.
It's okay. It definitely needs age, it's garbage right out of the bag. Six to twelve months in a mason jar should get you into smoking-range. Then it's good. It's definitely a good quality tobacco, but to me it's a bit wimpy and tastes over-topped which makes it too sweet and slightly aromatic. I've heard some people use this for blending and add it to strong blends to bring the intensity down, I could see it being good for those purposes. To me, Orlik Golden Sliced (which also absolutely needs age) is much better (I know it's technically a VaPer, but the perique is so slight I think it's closer to a pure VA).

Wonderful!
I bought this after I tried LBF and fell in love with that. This blend was/is so much better than the great reviews and high recommendations from friends!

Stokkeby Twist Flake
Truly a "Twist" on the usual Flake. A nice, mellow smoke.
5 out of 5
I crave this stuff!
I've tried quite a few flakes, coins and things like this, including Stokkebye Bulls Eye Flake, and this one is somewhat different than the others. For one thing, it doesn't contain Perique -- and I prefer smooth over spicy. And milder. It's also a bit sweeter, even to my untrained palette. Moisture is fine just as it comes; I just take two flakes, roll them up together and shove them down in my pipe and I'm good to go.

Come on, Baby Let's Do the Twist
Hmm...Gotta let this dry out a while before smoking otherwise flavor is compromised. Nice quality as all Stokkebye tobacco is. I really like the Denmark tobaccos he offers. LTF is worth trying if you like milder Virginia flake. You could get a wild hair sometime and mix some of your other tobacco with it to see what you get. Then enjoy doing the twist. Chubby would live it.
5 out of 5
Yep, this is one to keep around.
Definitely a blend that I'll re-order in future. In the bag, I get a slightly sweet, grassy aroma with a hint of licorice. I can fold and stuff these twist flakes or rub them out, depending on the pipe and/or my mood. Burns well without a lot of relights and the taste comes across clean and sweet.

Don't miss the opportunity to try this excellent VA Flake!
The long-awaited package with 24oz each of Luxury Twist Flake and Bullseye Flake finally arrived! I tore into the Twist Flake first, and was pleasantly surprised by the "bag note" (no tin) was heady and inviting. I'm a Virginia lover, so I hoped this would hit the spot. And it did! Smoked almost like Orlik Golden Sliced, one of my favorite Virginia blends. No Perique in this one, which is what I wanted ... for when I don't feel like the "tongue spice" that Navy Flakes offer. That's good too, but sometimes you just want a very mellow smoke with no spiciness. I haven't smoked the Bullseye Flake yet ... still puffin' away at this great Twist Flake. This is the first time I've commented on any tobacco because I've only recently gotten back into "the art of pipe smoking". Took a "break" from pipes and got into RYO cigarettes for about 25 years. I'm in my late sixties, but began smoking pipes at age 17. Yeah, I've tried 'em all, the "old ones" like the original 3 Nuns, etc. I can heartily recommend this twist flake ... especially to Virginia lovers. Also think it's maybe a good "starter" flake for newbies, since it's both rich and mild tasting, no tongue bite and very little "gurgle" even fresh out of the bag. I'll be drying it a bit, though. Have at it!

Great virginian.
This is my second favorite all virginia. When i get bored with my favorite, I switch to this blend. I plan to cellar quite a lot of this because I just keep coming back again an again. Nothing real complex with this blend. I think it actually has a good nicotine level. Not real strong but satisfying for enough for a ex cigarette smoker. I dont give 4 star ratings unless they are quite exceptional to me.

Great Tobacco
Really like this tobacco! Wonderful aroma when opening the bag. Easy to prepare and stays lit to bottom of the bowl. Has a nice room note also. No bite either. Will be ordering more! A nice all day tobacco!

An ok smoke if you have nothing better.
Dry out of the bag. It had a slight sweet smell to it, thinking it might have been a vanilla but not positive. I tried it folded and stuffed but could not keep it lit. So then I rubbed it down to ribbons. As ribbons it lit easily and had no problem keeping it lit. Could taste the virginia right away. Down about a quarter of the bowl and it’s a smooth, mild smoke so far, still Virginia but nothing else so far. I thought I was taking my time but the bowl started to get hot so I put it down, first smoke in a new pipe so not sure if it was the pipe or my cadence. Just under half a bowl now and still getting the virginia but not really any other flavors. Room notes is alright. Smoked four bowls over the month it was consistently the same every time, can’t say there was anything that stood out about it. A decent smoke but not one I am likely to buy again.

This is what I smoke literally every day
At least once per day I smoke a bowl of this. It's not a smoke I sit and contemplate the flavors of. I am a sommelier after all, so taste is my job. But, it's the comfortable place of quality and relaxing comfort that keeps bringing me back. Bang for your buck, I love this. I keep buying tins for the great moments, but this is my daily bottle of wine upon which I base my other non-aromatic blends.

Delicious
Not sure if it is straight. Smells too good and sweet to be just straight Virginia.

One of my favorites!
I really enjoy Luxury Twist Flake. It's such a great Virginia tobacco with a very light casing that really makes it stand out. I currently have 2 lbs of this tobacco aging in mason jars and can't wait to try it with age given how great it is fresh. If you like Virginias you should give this one a try.

Good tobacco. Rich, spicy, chocolately. Not overwhelming, but not light either. Definitely needs dry time.

Budget friendly first class virginia
An extremely enjoyable Virginia smoke. Simply crumble a flake or two, let it air out for a bit if you wish, then pack it and sip. I usually smoke Virginia blends in the afternoon, and this is one of my go-to blends. Very budget friendly too. I haven't tried a lot of the higher priced flakes, but I don't think I ever will after this. Will definitely reorder.

good stuff.
Just bought more.... a pound.... this Va flake punches above it's weight. Folks I've smoked it around tell me it smells "like something's baking". ... in a good, sweetish, toasty - bread sort of way. The pouch / jar aroma had me stumped for a description for a bit... then I got it .. ripe pineapple rind with fig notes ... not overpowering, yet alluringly mouth watering. The flavor when smoked.... to me, a mellow Va sweetness .. not too much citrusy tang here.. more of a subtle cinammon toasty impression without the cinnammon... all tasting notes are very subjective ... everyone's different... but I'm quite taken with this tobacco. A true no-compromise value to my tastes... put it in a tin with a fancy label, I'd pay more for it. Looking forward now to folding & twist stuffing it into a pipe now.. if you like Va flakes, I don't think you'll be disappointed. My purchase came at just the right moisture level out of the box. ... mmmmmmm with coffee, bourbon, scotch... you get the idea.

Very enjoyable
Just a very nice Virginia flake. Smoking out on the deck my pipe & I were banished to, a lady stepped out to join me and thought the neighbors were baking bread or pastry next door... she was surprised to find it was my pipe . I'm ordering a pound now. if you enjoy lightly sweet, toasty Virginia, I'd recommend trying a couple ounces of this.

One of my favorites
Smoked this stuff for years. I find the Stokkebye flakes and English/orientals the best quality and value available. Took advantage of a deal and got some from Pipes and Cigars.

Not For Me
I had purchased several ounces of the Luxury Bullseye Flake because I wanted something somewhat similar to Escudo that I could smoke daily and really enjoyed it. So I decided to get a couple of ounces of the Luxury Twist thinking that it would be as good. Unfortunately, this one has missed the mark for me. I've tried it several times in different pipes and it just doesn't do it for me. I love straight VAs, so it's not the category. This flame just carry the same flavor as some other VAs that I've had. It tended to burn hot and harsh, and that was after drying it and sipping very slow. It was like smoking a high-quality cigarette. And I really don't like cigarettes. I will put the remaining ounces deep in my cellar and see if time can coax it into something I might appreciate later down the road.

Smoke for dessert
Sweet and creamy, like a tobacco milkshake. Beautiful flakes. Moisture is just about right, but better if you rub it out and dry it for 15 mins before packing. Loads of delicious caramel flavored smoke with no bite. A great postprandial treat, but not an all-day-every-day for me. Everybody should try this one, even if you don't typically smoke aromatics. Recommended.

A nice change of pace
Luxury Twist flake is one of the two aromatic tobaccos I smoke. Its light caramel note with a hint of vanilla, combined with the typical virginia taste we all know and love. I will say that for being an aromatic, I was surprised that the leaf was of such good quality. I bet this one would do well with some slight aging. I usually enjoy this one early in the AM when I don't need a huge nicotine punch or coffee hasn't woken me fully. It's also nice with a nightcap.

My tobacco arrived in good order. #400 Flake is excellent. Mild, grasslike and does not bite. Even better with a pinch of Picayune. Will order again, and again, and again........ BG Southeast Missouri

Excellent Smoke
My order arrived in Excellent condition. The Newminster 400 is an excellent smoke. Does not bite, and is not too strong. Reminds me of the tobacco smell when I used to be a roust-a-bout at the North Carolina auction floors. This tobacco will give satisfaction and is well worth the money. Mix it with a little D&R Picayune and you are in pipe heaven.

good for the price
I thought it came a little wet, and had a bit of an edge to it. needs to age a while. dried and it smokes with a relight or two. had a pretty good nic content. I think sometimes people don't realize how much variation can be in an agricultural product, from one year to the next, or even one field to another. so it can be hard to quantify tobacco from one batch to the next. ie. I have smoked 5 brothers and felt it was low nic but read reviews where it was rated high. this twist flake is good for the price and I will probably keep some on hand to age and to enjoy for an occasional change. but it wont make my top 10.

My Favorite of the Luxury Flakes
I recently bought 4 oz each of Luxury Bull’s Eye Flake, Luxury Navy Flake, and Luxury Twist Flake. The first two are Virginia/Perique blends, and the Twist is a straight Virginia blend. They are all quite lovely, but more and more, I find myself reaching for the Twist Flake. One flake folds and stuffs into a cob nicely and behaves like a gentleman (unless you stoke the furnace!). There is a topping that you notice in the jar, and on first light, but by the time you get going, you’re in delicious Virginia-land. My favorite straight Virginia Blends are Dunhill Flake and Capstan Original Navy Cut. But Stokkabye’s Lux Twist Flake is destined to be a regular in my rotation.

What a great smoke. I'm not sure which I like better, the Stookkebye LNF or the LTF. Either way, both are in my daily rotation. The price point and sevice from P&C can't be beat......so it's a no brainer for me.

This is a smooth Virginia flake. Rub it out coarse, it'll take a couple of lights, and it burns slowly. Rub it out fine and it burns a little quicker. Nice room note.

From the standpoint of service,
From the standpoint of service, I found this experience very nice -- of course, I always have in the past. In terms of the product, I found it had a somewhat "bite" to it that I am not used to with PS Navy Flake. In fact, I would not have ordered the Newminster if the PS was in stock. Keep up the good work in terms of offering a quality product at very, very affordable prices.

Great Tobacco
My mid rating is not because of the tobacco itself. It is an excellent tobacco, but it took a lot of drying for me to get it to smoke well and the taste was not what I was expecting. But then I am new to these tobaccos. It was a great tobacco and a great price.
5 out of 5
Great Great Great!
*This* These flakes are packed with flavor, somewhat sweeter than the navy flake and not quite as bold. Somehow the fire has been turned down by the Stokkebye wizards so that there is lesser tongue-bite than most straight virginias. This is a wonderful old school va flake product at a great price. I'm re-ordering this and some navy flake fwiw.

Omg what to say about this that hasn't been already said. All I know it is a pleasing smoke on the tongue. It has a mild flavor. I also use a bit if this with some LNF and LBF for a change. Try it, it will surprise you.
