My favorite pipe ever, in fact I smoked it until it finally developed a hole, was a 3/4 bent apple bowled bulldog with a rustic finish. You might find fancier but for quality and price, Dr. Grabow is the best pipe.
In fact, these pipes let me learn what stem and bowl style I prefer and would recommend any new pipe smoker to get several styles to explore what makes you the most comfortable when smoking.

I have been using the Dr Grabow pipes for several years. Because this is a small bowl and takes a replaceable filter the bowl doesn't get hot in your hand. The filter takes a lot of the fluids out and makes for a cool smoke. The pipe is very well made and looks nice.

When pipe arrived, found that stem was cracked. Contacted P&C, and they sent me a replacement. Replacement was a long stemmed version of the pipe, NOT the short stem version I had originally ordered. The long stemmed pipe does work well, and I will keep it.

This particular pipe will not smoke with a filter. The “channel” is too short so the filter smushes up and clogs the pipe. Otherwise smokes OK without it. This is the first Grabow I have had this problem with.

I’m pretty new to pipes but I’m hooked for sure. Thanks in part to this cool little pipe. Feels really small in my hand, hangs nicely when clenched between my teeth, stays real cool, smokes for about 45minutes for me. I tried Lane Q1 and Lane BCA, both smoked nicely. Rustication and color are very appealing. I use charcoal filters (I forget the brand) but they don’t fit perfectly so I have noticed it slide a bit sometimes when I draw on the pipe. Also the metal tube inside tube that connects the stem and the shank is pulling out from the stem when I remove the stem. It’s still tight but I hope it doesn’t get looser over time. All in all I am very pleased with it and would recommend this pipe to those looking for a stylish, lightweight, semi-quick smoker.

An embarrassingly small toy of a pipe which looks like I'd give it to my nephew to start him on a lifetime of pipe smoking. I can get maybe 10 minutes out of a bowl if I smoke slowly. Also it's difficult to pack and keep lit due to the smaller bowl and less airflow through it. I'm wondering how many new pipe smokers have quit the hobby due to this very pipe.
Furthermore the stain and lacquer on top is awful and must be removed immediately and replaced with wax. Grabow's nightmarishly bad "rustication" which looks like it was done by a drunk with a Dremel should be banned from the pipe world. Dr Grabow, you should be ashamed of the number of pipes you've ruined with your "rustication" technique.
The only saving graces which award this pipe two stars are the stem which at least fits well and the fact that the bowl is made from really decent briar which shows its pretty face once you take paint thinner and strip off the lacquer and the terrible stain. Do it. Strip it down and then wax it and you'll actually have a decent looking pipe, though still too small and still with those awful gouges.

I decided to replace two Grabows which had been in my pipe drawer for about 30 years and found these two on sale at P&C. My fault I suppose for not considering measurements before buying, but both these pipes were about 2/3 size of my old Grabows. They also seemed very lightly made with an aluminium filter holder - I never use filters. These just didn't work for me and has put me off Grabows, a shame because they were my go-to bowls in the early years.

My first briar pipe so i have nothing to compare to other than cob pipes. Bowl size is smaller than even my smallest cob but big enough for a good smoke. The bend does make running a cleaner through a bit tricky. On the particular pipe I got the fit between the stem and bit are tight not loose like some folks reported, I feel good for the price and quality I made a good choice for my first briar.

To begin I think it's important to mention I've only recently started smoking a pipe, also I'm in my mid- twenties. So I already turn heads when I'm seen with one of my pipes. The dr garbow duke style pipe however has come with a few early disappointments, though many of them I atribute to a lack of knowledge and experience on my part. Apon recieving my new dr. Garbow duke I was slightly disappointed at the size, the web page had left me under the impression both the bowl and stem would be larger, yet no matter. I was excited to finally recieve the new piece and try it out. The dr. Garbow smokes exceptionally smooth and consistantly, it has been an ease to clean and work with, and the smaller size has become a blessing in disguise as my new dr. Garbow has become the perfect pipe for my truck allowing for easier smoking on the go. Be it on my way to and from work, out and about the Dr. Garbow duke has rapidly paid for itself and become one of my most commonly used pipe I could not be happier with my purchase, thanks for asking for me feed back, keep up the good work everyone at P&C I will definitely come back when I'm ready to expand on my new collection

I have been smoking pipe for almost 6 months now and have bought and smoked a decent variety of pipes. I have heard how Dr. Grabow was a classic and after smoking it i see why. It is an attractive and quality pipe and smokes well. It is an excellent value and has replaced my first serious pipe as my go to work pipe. I have read some of the reviews about quality issues and all i can say is that if that happens to you then don't worry pipesandcigars will take care of you. Be advised that this is not a large or medium sized pipe, but they all don't need to be. I love mine and especially at the price they are even when not on sale they are worth adding to your collection.

I'm fairly new to pipe smoking and I wanted a bent pipe mainly because my uncle always had one. This is a very nice pipe for the money. I also have a Straight Duke and I like the bent more for aromatics, to me it seems to have less bite. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bent and isn't ready to drop big dollars yet.

A bit underwhelming. More of a travel pipe than an everyday pipe. Great for beginners and does smoke quite well. Price isn't bad but beware it is a small pipe for someone with big hands like myself. Stays in your mouth very well and cleaning is super easy. Overall, if I had to do it all over again I probably would have purchased something else.

I have had it and been using it for some time now, and the only problem is that the stem and bowl will become loose and the only way I found to fix it was to bend the metal to try in keep the bowl from falling off, for a 1st pipe go and buy this but I would say go for something with a plastic steam over this.

I bought this pipe as a newbie to have a few inexpensive pipes to start my pipe smoking experience. There is a reason they don't list the dimensions of this pipe on the site. It is TINY. The bowl is so small I can barely fit my pinky finger in it. Having said that, this pipe is perfect for a quick smoke or just trying a new tobacco. I have found that a couple of tobaccos have actually had a better taste when smoked in this little guy.
