Reasonable pipe, as always
Have smoked these for 50 years now. And, while I have encountered their briars with soft spots (which burn through) over the past 10 years, in general these are still good and reasonably priced pipes. I will continue to buy them forever.

Solid Pipe, smooth pull
Quality Pipe, great filter system. Enjoy all Dr. Grabow Pipes! This straight design is a smoother rip vs. a Sherlock design pipe.

A good solid pipe
A good smoker, Could sell for more and it would be worth it. If you are like me and I spend a lot of time in the woods and fishing and if I happen to lose it i might a little ticked off. It can be replaced easley.

It Smokes!
Hey, it smokes, what more does one want? I'm new to pipe smoking and had bought two used (estate?) pipes at an antique shop to start out. One was a Medico, which was either weak in the shank or I forced the stem in too hard at an angle, but it broke in pieces. And I knew not to take apart when hot. But did the precious owner? Who knows? Could've been me. Anyway, had to replace asni only had one pipe but not too flush right now. So, after research, settled on Dr. Grabow (also I noticed most of the value line pipes were out of stock probably because this was right before Thanksgiving and people buying for holidays). Picture was a billiard, but what came was probably an apple (maybe acorn--not too expert yet on shapes). Oh well, I ended up liking the rounded shape more (seems cooler in the hand) and despite the plastic stem, the thing is comfortable and light and smokes great. I like the smaller bowl as I don't smoke a lot when I do. The stem is wide and sturdy as I found I'm a clencher at times when my hands are busy. I bit a hole through my other used pipe (again, maybe it was weak anyway, but it is smaller and thinner - - lesson learned on buying used pipes indiscriminately). I also realize that it's smart to have a number of inexpensive pipes along with a few nice ones, which I have to get yet, for taking along places or having while working or whatever. Or for novices like me to try out the different shapes and so forth until you decide what you like in terms of shapes and styles and then you can buy a few nice ones with less risk. The pipe will stay with me for a long time and it smokes just great. Cool and much dryer than my used English-made Zulu with condenser (smokes just as wet without and I don't like sucking ash or particles).

Dr. Grabow
The pipe leaks moisture where the stem goes into the bowl

not the same as previous order of a Grand Duke Straight
Prior order (2 years ago?) was Grand Duke Straight. Recent order for the same came in with much smaller bowl, and far more delicate stem... much "less" of a pipe overall. Apparently Grand Duke Straight covers many styles. Makes it hard for consumer to match a desired style.

Amazing Pipe, Amazing Price
One of the smoothest smoking pipes I've ever had. I had an older Dr. Grabow Lark that broke on me and I bought this to replace it and I have to say, it's quite an improvement. Beautiful wood, nice color.

The bowl on the pipe
The bowl on the pipe was too big. Looked a lot smaller on website. First time we had to return an item. I will shop with Pipe and cigars again.

Grand Duke is grand!
I have been enjoying the Dr. Grabow Grand Duke Straight pipe. It is nice looking with a smooth brown finish. It has a nice cool and smooth draw, and of course I like the 6mm filter for certain blends that can be a little harsh. A nice quality pipe at a very affordable price. I can recommend this pipe to all my friends that smoke pipes.

Customer Testimonials
I bought mine at Walgreens, and I love it! I like the small size of the bowl.
I purchased one of these from a drugstore about 10 or 12 years ago. I was a virgin pipe smoker at the time and due to some inferior tobacco I quickly lost interest. A couple of years back I got into cigar smoking. Due to the cost of that I decided to give the pipe a try again. This time I did my homework, studied hard, and found a tobacco I just can’t live without. The Grand Duke stuck by me throughout all of this. Now, personally I have found that I like smooth bent pipes. My Grand Duke is neither. It is rusticated and then some as my Border Collie got ahold of it when he was teething several years ago. All that aside, my Grand Duke is an excellent smoker and despite my personal preferences I thoroughly enjoy smoking it. I have actually measured mine with a caliper and scale. The measurements are 6.12” long, 1.37” high, 0.9 ounces, 1.25” bowl depth, 1.27” outer bowl diameter, and 0.71” inner bowl diameter. If you do the math the volume of tobacco it holds is 0.49 square inches. This is perfect for me. I have been using her for a work pipe. As such, she’s been smoked several times a day. She tucks away nicely in my tobacco pouch leaving ample space for other necessities. Although, I am considering of retiring her to home use as I have noticed she requires probably more time for a smoke break than is normally allotted. My Royal Duke is a tad smaller with a bowl capacity of 0.41 square inches which should provide a more reasonable smoke break. So far I own three Dr. Grabow pipes. The Grand Duke was my first. They are all great smokers. They are quality pipes at an affordable price. I’m definitely going to get me more Dr. Grabow’s. Finally, if you are wondering how the filters work don’t worry about it. Nothing but smooth smokey goodness with no bits of leaf to chew on or tarry tobacco juice to suck on. I love the filters and after Lord knows how many filter changes the stem still fits nice and tight.
