I great daily aromatic
My daily aromatic tobacco. very smooth, no bad after taste. It's a very moist tobacco, I tried it right from the tin without drying and it burned perfectly. Love it.

A nice aromatic for daily use
This is a very nice aromatic that does not have an over bearing vanilla flavor like most other vanilla tobacco's. This still lets you experience the flavor of the tobacco and not just the base flavor.

this is currently my favorite
this is currently my favorite aromatic! the taste is absolutely perfect with hints of rum and vanilla that come together perfectly. sometimes a morning smoke when breaking from a morning blend, sometimes a mid day driving smoke and perfect after a nice meal. highly recommend, five star

My favorite East India Trading tin.
This tobacco was mild, yet full bodied. I really liked it. It was a nice evening-on-the-back-porch kind of smoke. Out of the 3 East India Trading tins I bought, this one was my favorite. The aroma was nice on a crisp evening. Very enjoyable!

Comes very wet, gives a strong yet pleasant vanilla tin note and as long as it is smoked (slowly) it will be a great tasting smoke with low to no tongue bite I would not recommend to new pipe smokers but veteran and people who've learned how to smoke already i would to them if they like vanilla it has almost a rich vanilla cake taste in my experience. So give it a try you may like it.

Decadent and luxurious
This is one of those "treat yourself" tobaccos. It isn't my daily smoke. It feels too rich and delicious for that. It's more like a favorite dessert that you get on special occasions. That said, it is an excellent smoke. The vanilla is very pleasing and the overall effect is sweet and rich. I agree with those who said this tobacco smokes better after drying for several hours. In short, I always want a tin or two of this around for special occasions, but I don't smoke it daily.

Everyone loves the smell of this tobacco
My wife actually enjoys when I light up a pipe of this. When I open the tin with friends they all take a turn smelling it and commenting on how good it smells, even the non-smokers. Smells of caramel, rum, and vanilla custard. The other tobaccos on my shelf are starting to get a bit dusty, as this is the one I keep returning to.

If you enjoy vanilla and
If you enjoy vanilla and rum aromatics that can transport you to a distant island, then this is the tobacco for you. The tobacco in the tin comes rather moist. Just sit a little out and let it dry, then fill you pipe and set sail to those distant islands. Enjoyable smoke, no bite, pairs really well with rum and rum drinks. Don't be surprised if people complement the wonderful aroma.

5+ Stars - All time Best/Favorite ever!!!!
This is my all time favorite tobacco ever! I only smoke aromatics so I’m coming from that perspective. I’ve tried over a hundred aromatic tobacco’s and this one is my favorite. It’s my stranded on an island pick. If I could have only one pipe tobacco the rest of my life I would have this hands down. Lots of vanilla, creamy caramel and some rum notes. Reminds me of when I was a child waking by the Tinderbox shop in the mall. Yes the tin is very wet when you first open it but I tend to like that, I just dry out what I smoke for the next few days and out in a separate pouch or tin. If you like Sutliff Vanilla Custard, you will like Officer’s Club. I’ve purchased several of these for gifts and have bought over a dozen tins and will buy dozens more to store.

Very smooth.
One of my favorites. Very smooth with no tongue bite. Aromatic and popular with the women in the house. Definitely a desert blend, and smokable at anytime...yes, I was one of those kids that would eat desert first.

A Champion in the Custardy-Milky-Creamy aromatic area
Phenomenal, I dried portion I intended to smoke for about 40-45 minutes. Packs easy, delightful room note, NO bite whatsoever, smooth delicious flavor especially during retrohale. The quality of this reminds me a great deal of Scotty's blends but in a tin and more wet. Don't be put off by the wetness, just dry it out prior in portions. Stayed lit just fine and was enjoyed all the way to bottom of the bowl. I have to say that after trying this, it's by far my favorite out of all the others in this category (Vanilla Custard, Dulce de Leche, Creme Brulee, Maple Street). In fact once I deplete those I'll just be exclusively sticking to Officer's Club. The nuance and depth of flavor is just so expertly done it's in a tier of its own quality wise

I smoke this tobacco like it is gold. Hands down, the best tasting smoke ever. When I use it at living history events, people go wild over the aroma. Full of sugars and flavors. In a league of its own.

Rich - Yummy - Rummy
I got to sit with Russ at the Chicago show & talk about this tobacco at length. This is an aromatic worthy of the K Hansotia label. And when Mr Ghurka comes calling for a specific profile it better be right. I’ve tried every vanilla rum blend from every tobacco house out there & while I found many very nice blends THIS is my go to tobacco. Deep deep DEEP vanilla & dark rum taste is yummy - truly a rum custard. Pretty damp when you 1st open the tin so you may want a little air time depending on how dry you like to stuff your bowls. I can stuff my OL Peterson system fresh from the tin & go ride the mower for an hour with minimal relights. Dark & complex there are many nuances to find here & you will be surprised by the background flavors in every bowl. I’ve stockpiled many tins & will continue on as we don’t want any frogmorton on the bayou situations in the future. East India Trading Company Officers Club... rich, exotic, & worthy of the name.

Clean, and Smooth
What can I say? This pipe tobacco always does the trick for me. I order 4 tins at a time. It's smooth and it doesn't bite like some others I know. It's clean. It's moist. It's not overly moist. I can smell and taste all of the aromas in the tin. I can guarantee you will love this pipe tobacco. This one is and aromatic pipe tobacco but I personally think that it's worth the cost!!!!

The best aromatic blend I've ever smoked, and that is coming from a guy who has been smoking pipes for fifty years.

A must try, you won't regret it!
VERY smooth blend. For an aromatic tobacco, the flavors and aromas are just strong enough to know they're there without overpowering the rich cavendish, burley and Virginias. Would definitely buy this again and again for as long as its available. Be warned it is an extremely moist tobacco. I will take a pinch and let it air out for a few minutes before packing it in my pipe. But don't let that deter you, this is a must try. You won't regret it.

Nice Blend
Not a heavily scented or flavored tobacco. Officer's Club is a tasty blend of well seasoned tobaccos . The smoke is dry, clean and leaves the room scented but not perfumed of vanilla and other spices associated with baking cookies or a chocolate cake. Very pleasant.

Good solid smoke
I was a bit surprised by the very smooth taste. I'm a novice smoker, but could pick up the different components blended together. I could not detect one overpowering the other because of it being so balanced.

Tasty and satisfying
If I could give partial stars, I'd rate this around 4.75. The good: fantastic aroma and room note, and a delicious creamy vanilla tasting smoke. Absolutely excellent after a meal, but certainly a very great choice for any time you might crave a sweet aromatic. Certainly a very satisfying and tasty aromatic. The bad: comes quite wet. Wet enough to stick to your fingers. Best to dry out for *at least* an hour before puffing. Requires re-lighting. Needs a light pack or it will be a sticky mess. Has a tendency to bite if puffed too hard. Done correctly this is an excellent and pleasing smoke. Would certainly purchase again.

My Personal Favorite
I used to be hooked on their Cellar Reserve, until I tried this. The smell from the tin is wonderful, great room note and no tongue bite. Even people I know that don't smoke or care for the smell of tobacco smoke, don't mind this.

Officers club.
Officers Club has a pleasant but strong room note. However it’s quite moist, care must be taken when filling the pipe not pack you’re pipe to tight.A mild slow burning tobacco it is. I dried it out some and it was better.Had to relight 3or 4times.I will not reorder again it’s not for me.

One of my favorites
When I decided to load up my pipe tomahawk and smoke it, I filled it with Officer's Club. When I let my friends try the tomahawk, they were more excited about the tobacco than about the unusual pipe. I like vanilla which is part of the reason it's a favorite and it also has a great aroma which make's me less unpopular with the nonsmokers.

A Very Instructive Tobacco
I've been smoking about a year and a half, and this tobacco has taught me a lot. I say it's instructive in that, for me, good smoking technique (not overpuffing) is rewarded with a great and varying flavor, and poor technique results in that flavor disappearing. So this blend has taught me to slow down and rewards me with cool, dry smoke with a wonderful taste of chocolate, vanilla and hints of rum occasionally popping through when I do. It has helped my technique so that I am enjoying other blends in my rotation more as well. Recommended!

A wonderful, sweet, smokey, rum tobacco
I love this tobacco. It's fairly mild, but it's smokey and the room note is fantastic. If you like rum-flavored tobaccos, you'll surely enjoy this. This is now in my regular rotation.

A nice, relaxing smoke with a good aroma and taste.
I'm new to pipe smoking and out of the few I've tried, I really enjoyed this and Dunhill's Nightcap. It's a nice, relaxing smoke with a good aroma and taste.

Excellent all day dessert smoke!
A very fantastic aromatic blend. The description on the tin describes it as a dessert smoke, and that's exactly what it's like. I could smoke this all day, every day. Excellent room note, burns well after letting it dry out a little bit and zero tongue bite. I rarely recommend pipe tobaccos due to my limited exposure and pallette...but this one is worth it. Right up there with Molte Dulce.

Very Nice Tobacco...
This is a very nice aromatic tobacco. I like aromatics and have tried many. I have also tried many other types of tobaccos that are considered to be great. But I always come back to aromatics. Officer's Club is the best one I've found yet and the first one I've bought more than once - I just ordered 2 more tins. It is moist tobacco in the tin and smells rich and sweet. It smokes and smells great. My wife likes the aroma also.
5 out of 5
Amazing
Tried this in the sampler and it was the best of the three, and in my opinion, it was up against stiff competition, due to the other flavors awesome smell and taste, but alas Officer's Club took the cake, which is why I am here ordering more!

My new favorite
Purchased this on a whim just to try something new and I’ve found my new favorite smoke. The description notes that this is a great smoke after a nice meal and, while I won’t dispute that, I say this is a great smoke at any time of the day. Though it smells like a rich dessert in the tin, the smoke is thoroughly enjoyable. The flavor is gentle, not cloying and everyone loves the aroma. Burns well (especially for such a moist blend) with no bite.
2 out of 5
Meh. I gave it to someone to get rid of it.
Lots of (only) tobacco flavor and not even a hint of the "rum custard" flavor promised. If you want a rum flavored blend, stick with Sutliff's Barbados Plantation.
5 out of 5
WOW!!!!!
I'm a fairly new pipe smoker and haven't tried a lot of tobaccos yet, but out of the few I have tried this stuff is amazing. The vanilla are rum flavors are very tasty. I'm definately going to be buying another tin of this once I finish the one I have.

EXCELLENT BLEND - A+++++
This is the only tobacco i have ordered back to back. The aroma is fantastic. My wife thought I was baking a fancy dessert. After 44 yrs of smoking a pipe, this is the ONLY tobacco she actually likes. It has become my daily go to blend.

TRULY OUTSTANDING PIPE TOBACCO
This is my second order of this fine tobacco. The aroma is fantastic, with absolutely no bite or bitter aftertaste. I have smoked Captain Black since Moby Dick was a minnow. This is my daily go to smoke.

The absolute BEST tobacco I have smoked in the past 48 yrs.
My favorite tobacco. My wife loves the aroma. It has a smooth taste, no bite, just a great taste...enjoy smoking it all day. This is my "go to" tobacco.

Officer's Club
As a serious pipe smoker I'm almost embarrassed to say how much I love this blend, but I have to come out and say it: "I love this one".

One of my favorite aromatics!
Frankly all three of East India Trading Co. aromatics are outstanding. My first try was officers club. What a nice aromatic. Unlike any other aromatic I have ever smoked. Much more like smoking an English blend at times particularly if you have completely dried out the tin. When smoking wet it really loads up some interesting flavors. I keep some wet and some extra dry to smoke. It's like two different smokes. This is a really delightful smoke made to enjoy slowly. All three of these blends are similar but different enough to enjoy separately as different smokes. Of the three this blend, when dry is very close to a tasty English blend. Burns cool and leaves a nice white ash. Smoke is mellow but not thick unless your puffing hard which will ruin the smoke. This is to be enjoyed slowly like a English blend. This is when you get the very most out of this tobacco.

Solid Smoke
The wifey loves this stuff. Out of all the Dunhill, MacBaren, Escudo and Rattrays we smoke, this is what she always comes back to. I enjoy it quite a bit as well when I'm in the mood for an aromatic. The description is spot on, definitely tastes like a Caribbean rum custard. Perfect for evening smokes, but I wouldn't make it an all-day puff as I imagine it would be too sweet for that. Burns cool, has an excellent room note, and isn't too strong or too weak. Highly recommend.

Officers Club
I ordered officers club by way of a 3 tin sample tin pack by east India products. The others were decent but officers club was head and shoulders above the other 2 samples. I had been a captain black gold fan for many years but the captain is my 2nd choice after smoking this. I love the rum and vanilla taste and it's not harsh and doesn't bite. I've had many compliments of how nice the room smells too. I've seen several people who thought officers club was too wet but that's just part of the charm of this juicey and flavorful mix. I have found that if you pack the bowl semi-loosely and to about 3/4 full, just lightly flatten with a pipe tool and it's not that hard to keep lit. This mixture may not be to everyone's taste but I would recommend a tin just for a trial. I bought a baraccini pocket pipe and I really love the taste from it as well. Those little pipes are very good quality and it may surprise you that the bowl still lasts quite a while. Thanks for reading this. J. R.

A very nice surprise
I ordered this on a whim. I love vanilla but not many vanilla aros. When I first opened the tin I thought something was wrong.. It was so wet I was looking for rust on the I side of the lid. The inside was stained brown and while it gave a great tin note, I thought this will be way to heavily cased for my taste. I am also not a huge fan of mixtures heavy with burley. That being said as a vanilla fan I figured oh well I might as well give it a shot since I opened it. I let it dry a bit before packing and it was still pretty wet. While I was not expecting much I must admit I was shocked at just how good this was. Smooth sweet and rich. Paired well with a good cup of coffee like a decadent dessert after a meal. Fantastic room note. It did smoke a bit hot for me but I'll just let it dry out a bit longer next time. Despite that it was an enjoyable surprise while too sweet for me for an all day smoke. It's perfect when that sweet tooth hits. Very well balanced tobaccos blending together instead of fighting each other. It also was not as heavy as I expected it to be. Notes of vanilla rum and even some mild chocolate at times. I will be ordering more for sure. It's worth a try.

It's too bad they don't offer their tobaccos in bulk as well as the tin.

Brilliant!
I love this aromatic. It's delicious from start to finish. I've been smoking it in a briar pipe and am going to try a cobb pipe to see how the experience changes! I'm looking forward to trying the other EITC offerings as well. Cool smoke, no bite.

Smooth as Silk
East India Trading Company Officer's Club is my go-to smoke. I have tried others of the same profile but none come close to it. Everyone enjoys the room note. Its smooth like silk and perfect for all day long.

Decadent pleasure
I found out about Officer's Club from a review I read for Sutliff Private Stock Barbados Plantation (which is one of my all-time favorites), and I thought I'd give it a try. It's freakin' awesome! So, hat tip to NEAL R. for the suggestion. Another review here, ROBIN L., remarked the tobacco was "luxurious". Got to say, I think that word fits it perfectly. This is a great smelling, great tasting, great room note tobacco. Wonderful, sweet, smooth & expensive rum taste, with no discernible bite. It some how feels like you're indulging in an exclusive, rich blend that just might be too good to be legal. It's what I smoke when I want to spoil myself (and satisfy my sweet tooth). Also goes great with a glass of Captain Morgan or Sailor Jerry or DiSorono. Some have remarked it's moist, which is true, but I don't find that it burns hot.

Great Tasting Aro
I am fairly new to pipe smoking and I had never heard of the brand. I was browsing for some new tobacco and came across this one. The reviews were very good so I decided to give it a try. I have to say I am very impressed. I opened the tin and was presented with a very nice aroma and a very wet tobacco. I let it sit for 30 minutes before the initial light. Did the initial light, packed it and lit it once more. It stayed lit through the entire bowl and it was very enjoyable. It has a great taste and the room note is amazing. I will definitely be buying this one again.

Rich & opulent blend
Highly recommend this blend ! Super rich aroma and room note. The entire product line is the same. Luxurious is the only way to describe these tobaccos.

Great dessert.
A great sit down after a dinner taste treat. Helps to settle things.

smells amazing, flavor is mellow
this tobacco smells fantastic. Like a chocolate egg custard. The taste is ok, as with many aros the taste doesn't live up to the aroma. But solid tobacco for a sweeter experience.

Officer's Club a Strong Contender
I have now sampled all three of the East India tobaccos. I would put Officer's Club as a close second to Cellar Reserve. It's got a nice mild to medium sweet smoke that is fairly smooth, the sweetness is more pronounced than in Cellar Reserve and the aroma is fantastic, but its not the rich and velvety punch that you get from the Cellar Reserve. But the mild is not necessarily a bad thing. You can enjoy a couple bowls over the evening, whereas with the Cellar Reserve it feels (to me) a bit heavier. Definitely worth trying if you are the curious type. Regardless of whether or not its one of your favorites, it won't disappoint.

Holy moly this is a nice one.
I was amazed the first time I opened at the wonderful aroma it had. Smokes very smooth if you let it dry before a meal. Very pleasant to the non smokers as well, as I received two separate compliments on the smell. The best part is the nice crackle as you draw, very fun. Definitely recommend highly to the aromatic AND non aromatic smoker.

THE ONLY TOBACCO I SMOKE. PERIOD!!!!!!!
I HAVE SMOKED ALOT OF AROS BUT THIS HAS BECOME MY FAVORITE. I STOPPED WASTING MONEY ON OTHER TOBACCOS AND NOW THIS IS ALL I ORDER FROM P@C. GREAT TASTE,GREAT AROMA AND SMOKES SMOOTH WITHOUT ANY BITE. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.................IT.....

Nice, but wet.
Very tasty with a great room note. Vanilla custard with rum. But take Andrew T's advice and let it dry out a bit, as this is the wettest tobacco I've ever encountered. The wrapping paper inside the tin was liberally stained with brown topping when I opened it. I always thought Molto Dolce was wet, but this stuff makes MD seem like desert sands. It's worth the hassle though...it tastes very good and smokes well.

I have sweet tooth and this wonderful blend takes care of it. It is my new favorite and daily smoke.

Very Nice!
I ordered this with a pipe. Usually, I smoke Captain Black Gold. What a great tobacco this is! Very smooth - no harsh bite in mouth. One of those tobaccos that taste as good as it smells - Butterscotch. My only regret is I can't buy it in bulk, like Captain Black.

relax with this one
Like opening up a box of chocolate in the morning. The aroma from just opening up the tin is enough to get you going. I don't know if I should eat it or smoke it. No tongue bite, fills the room with a very pleasant odor that every one likes, and has just great taste. Good burn, and satisfying finish.

Fantastic aromatic.
Ok this is amazing. I am very picky about my aromatics and am always looking for a new great aro. This is is wonderful. No tongue bite. Looks very moist but burns to ash without gooping your pipe. Hints of coffee and chocolate, mildly sweet but not overpowering. Will be a regular in my humidor going forward. Strongly recommend this to anyone who likes pairing with coffee or an amaretto liquor.

Just awesome most but that's ok because this is just on of the best blends I've ever smoked it really opens up when you get in to the bowl

Not bad.
Not as good as I expected. But I was not sure what to expect. Sometimes hard to smoke because of being moist. Couldn't open the can, and had to pry it with a tool. Was not happy about that.

A Hedonistic Indulgence!
The tin note, smoking scent and flavor all suggest a freshly baked butter rum muffin like the kind I try to resist in the bakery aisle at Wegmans. The tobacco in my tin came very moist and sticky. The paper wrap in the tin was completely brown from the oils which to me suggests it was packed before the topping had completely cured. Because of the high moisture level I suggest packing it in the bowl 2-3 hours before your smoking session, then it is fine and burns steady. For an occasional indulgence or the unremitting hedonist!

By far one of the best pipe tobaccos that I've smoked in the past 40 years. If you hadn't tried it, you need to at less once. A+++++ all around.

Customer Testimonials
Surprisingly good! Very pleasant aromatic with a fantastic room note. I bought this tobacco on an odd whim, and I'm very glad I did.

A nice aromatic! The description is an accurate representation of the tobacco. It is smooth and burns well with a fantastic room note. I don't think I'd get tired of this one.
