Gawith, Hoggarth & Co.'s Best Brown #2 is a medium strength flake tobacco. Blended from the finest Virginias from around the world, and rich, round Burleys, with a unique, but not overpowering amount of traditional British essences. If you want a more subtle version of the traditional Lakeland flakes, G&H's Best Brown #2 is the one to try.
As the title says, this full flavored VaBur doesn't strike me as an all day or everyday blend, but is a fine one for regular rotation. If you're looking for that 'Lakeland essence'/flavor, it isn't very present here. What is here is sweet grassiness of fine Virginias and a molasses/nuttiness (hazelnut?) from the Burley. Burns clean and smoothly, takes flame easily, and does not bite even if you hammer it. The aftertaste may be better than the direct flavor, a fun occurrence. Let it breathe a few minutes before you pack your pipe, and enjoy!
