Gawith & Hoggarth Black Cherry Twist

Good blend, but not very cherry flavored. Hard to rub out, and harder to keep lit. If you have never tried a twist pipe tobacco, this would be a good one to try due to its good flavor.

Rich full flavored smooth with very strong nicotine kick. Not an everyday smoke but a great one at that.

Not much cherry, but, "a whole lot o' twistin' goin' on". I sliced it to about 3/16" thickness, then cut the slices into cubes of the same approximate thickness. It burned slowly, only relighting once when it was close to the bottom of the bowl. Good taste, and I am told has a good room note, but only the slightest bit of cherry was discernible.

The black cherry flavor is very subtle and not in your face. Room note may leave something to be desired, but this is a real man's tobacco and not meant to impress the ladies. It's strong on the vitamin N which is the main reason I purchased it. Smokes and burns excellent in briars, cobs, pears and bogs. This was my first time trying this tobacco and I wish I had not waited so long. I originally hesitated because of the black cherry and previous bad experiences with other cherry flavored tobaccos, but this is not even in the same category. It did not come too dry or too wet. It was aged to perfection as well. Blends well with most other tobaccos, but don't add too much virginia to it unless you intend to sip slow to prevent tongue bite. No bite at all when smoked alone or when blended with McClelland VBC. I can't say this is my number one favorite twist, but it does make runner up and for that it deserves 5 stars in my opinion.

Color, texture and taste are great, but, it doesn't taste like black cherry when chewed. I haven't gotten around to smoking it yet. Maybe the cherry will blossom then.

Excellent potent smoke. The cherry flavor is subtle but compliments and smooths the smoke. Definitely let the tobacco sit for a while after slicing. Otherwise your pipe will clog and it will be hard to keep lit. Definitely will be purchasing more!

Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Black Cherry twist is an economical, mid-shelf version of Dunhill The Royal Yacht. I was impressed with this tobacco. It actually has a detectable cherry flavor! This is a great virginia to blend with a pinch of perique to make an outstanding VaPer. I will order this again and recommend it.

Good tobacco taste, strong blend, not for beginners. Dry well before using and break down so it doesn't jam pipe. A little goes a long way! Keep up the great work P & C always great products and bulk buy is a good way to try and test the offerings!

This is extremely strong. I would recommend you smoke this only when you've really learned to sip slowly. Otherwise, you're looking at two hours of The Blah.
