Absolutely Amazing
honestly this is a desert island blend...incredibly good. Not too heavy, not too light...it has depth, richness, and flavor. I bought the 8oz, and it wont be the last. I find myself smoking this over and over again.

Give it Time...
At first, I didn't get it... I love strong, intriguing scents, so there was no problem with the tin note, but every smoke was a little harsh. I let it air out for a little and the tin note changed... something freshly floral/woodsy emerged. I'm still trying to place it, but it emerged in the smoke as well, which is more mellow now... something cedar-y perhaps. I pick up on it in Sextant as well. Once I experienced that, I immediately ordered an 8oz tin, which is rubbed out and ageing a lil in a mason jar 'til my 2oz tin is done (not long now). Yum!

Good smoke
Quality tobacco, quality smoke...right out of the can. More mellow and therefore slightly smoother than SPC Plum Pudding...similar to Bengal Slices White.

You know it right away
Very nice gentle smoke that is pleasant in every way. The taste and aroma make you stop and notice the moment. One of the best pipe tobaccos I've every smoked.

Everyone talks about the love
Everyone talks about the love hate relationship with Perique, I will say that it is different. I had to change my accompanying beverage to bourbon to enjoy better. This was my first experience with a tobacco with Perique and was not my favorite. Glad I tried it though.

I usually smoke 965 and Early Morning Pipe. I decided to branch out and try something different. I bought Plum Pudding and Quiet Nights. Plum Pudding did not appeal to me. It had a vinegary flavor or something that I can't quite put my finger on. I opened Quiet Nights the same day and it was amazing. It has a lot of flavor and it smells great when smoking it. I've smoked it every day since. It's now my goto. I'm not good at describing flavors so I won't attempt it but this is worth a try for anyone who enjoys 965 or EMP.

Excellent tobacco!
Congratulations! It's one of the best pipe tobaccos I've ever tried! It has a very pleasant aroma, a discreet ambient smell and does not bite the tongue! It burns evenly and continuously. It's the best choice for flavored tobacco smokers like me! I recommend it! Delivery is very punctual, thank you Pipes & Cigars for the excellent service!

Not at all disappointed in
Not at all disappointed in this English mixture. Slightly moist above others but very smooth easy to smoke all day and not overwhelming. For anyone who is shy on English ones or just want to try them out first this is the one you should try.

A smooth and slightly exotic
A smooth and slightly exotic tasting English. Didn't like it initially but just kept getting better and better as it matured and mixed together in the jar. Now it's one of my favorites. Highly recommend to those curious about English blends.

I smoke my pipe at home, so I do not concern myself with a "room note". The Pease Quiet Nights has a name that says it all. It is relaxing, mild, incredible flavor, burns wonderfully, no tongue bite, and a really great blend. Give it a try, ... you won't be sorry!

Great smoke. Overall a great
Great smoke. Overall a great experience. I would recommend this blend to anyone. G.L. Pease old London series is on top of my list. One of my favorite blends so far. The description on the back of the tin is accurate! I enjoyed this blend with a corn cob pipe. It's appearance and taste is great. I will keep this blend at a mild to medium strength. I hope to get another tin soon! Aging this tobacco is the next step. Surely it will gain a more relaxed taste. It truly is a great way to end the night. Quiet nights is my kind of night!

EXCELLENT!!!
One of the best english/balken blends I have tried thus far. It is just about as close to perfect as a blend can get. Its got sweetness, its got spice, it has depth and complexity. I cant even describe the profile... it is just a darn good blend. one of those where you catch yourself saying "damn thats good" just about after every puff.... There is some secret ingredient in here I think too, very relaxing, almost nirvana like.. it just transported me to my happy place. I love this stuff.

Once you get past the added sweetness, you have a better than good alternative to Peterson's Night Cap. Never had anything but the Murray's version of NC, but Peterson's destroyed it.

Why we all started smoking pipes in the first place
Terrific Balkan/English. Tin note is hardwood char, amber resin, and incense. Well-behaved, with a rich mouth feel and no bite. Spice, smoked nuts, and baked dates--it's all here. Equal parts temple, Danish tavern, and patisserie. Surprising and satisfying peppery plum chutney finish. Room note is dead-center between a sailor's sweet comfort and a London parlor. This is a good tobacco. Are you smoking only aromatics, but have been curious about Balkans and Englishes? This blend is a lovely introduction. New to pipe smoking? Quiet Nights is a good way to find out why people want to smoke pipes in the first place.

Quiet nights is my favorite
Quiet nights is my favorite English blend, and ive tried lots. In flavor the only comparison for me is SPC Plumb Pudding, my second favorite. I prefer Quiet Nights because of the cut and the quality Orientals. If you have not tried this, do yourself a favor and get a can.

Perfect for after dinner. I only smoke pipes in the evening, and this fits the bill. Not a fine of heavily flavored aromatics. Just like I don't like flavored beer. Yuck! Lee Wenskay

Great English Blend for Beginners!
This is a great flavor. I am brand new at pipe smoking. All the aromatics I have tried thus far have tasted like burnt paper. THIS, on the other hand, actually has flavor to it! Very enjoyable. As long as you don't puff on it too regularly, it will most definitely satisfy: my favorite one yet!

This is my favorite blend of all time, I buy several 8oz tins at a time and it just disappears. It's magical. Smooth, burns cool, never bites. Full of flavor and aroma. I cannot say enough good things about this. If you like english blends, try this. You won't regret it.

Pleasant when rubbed out!
I think I may have reviewed this before but I've tried it about a week later and now I can say the problem before may have been that I tried to fold and stuff instead of rubbing it out. Fold and stuff might work for a thin Virginia flake but Quiet Nights needs to be rubbed out. I first thought it tasted like incense but rubbed out and smoked from my MM Mark Twain with a Dr. Grabow filter this is a fine smoke. The smoke seems heavy but soft. There is not an overwhelming nicotine hit which I like. The flavor and maybe even the room note are almost slightly aromatic even though this isn't aromatic. It's really quite nice. However, I would still recommend Peterson Standard for a first time try at an English mixture but do try this one sometime after that. Just be sure to rub it out and try it at least three times. It will ghost a pipe so be sure to use one dedicated to English mixtures or use a corn cob.

GL Pease Quiet Night
A great Latakia blend. Greg Pease is up there amongst the greatest blenders. He knows his tobacco and doesn't settle for inferior tobaccos.

Dr. Dot sez two thumbs up
I've had both the 2 oz and 8 oz. The definitive Latakia blend. You get that nice, smoky flavor without it beating you about the head and shoulders with it. I used to get this in a pinch. Now it's my goto Latakia blend.

1 of a few latakia blends I can enjoy
After puffing away at Countryside from Boswell- I was not sure I could ever touch an English blend with latakia in it. It was like a 2 day old campfire in my mouth. Nothing at all against the other blend/brand and it was my first time with a latakia blend. I had ordered this about the same time, I tried it at least 2 weeks later and tha k goodness- totally enjoyable for my tastes. Sure I like aromatics though my burnt tongue doesn't so much. I did not even know I loved "VaPers" though I had been smoking Dorchester a such, love it. So in comes Quiet after the overwhelm of Countryside. To me, it's a smooth pleasant blend. It has flavor unlike a lot of aromatics (I find them too mild but smell lovely). It has a smoothness I would equate to a favorite like Dorchester but a bit more complex. It's not a punch to the senses and works for me. It's not overly dried out, gone in a puff as some are including my favorite. Certainly not one u need to air out though in any sort. It comes on smooth and finishes without too much of that camp smoke flavor I found overbearing. I am sure there are folks that want the heavier latakia flavor but I like the balance. It goes in my non aro pipe and is a nice day ender and no pun intended to tie into the name of it. It has a following and I see why. If u like VaPers but perhaps some English blends have let u down, I think u could be happy winding down with this one imho. Ymmv

A New Favorite
I'm fairly new to pipe smoking and have only tried about a dozen or so blends, but this is my personal favorite so far. I wasn't sure about it when I first opened the tin, as the tin note is overwhelmingly campfire smoke. But I've learned that the tin note often has little to do with how a tobacco blend actually smokes, and that is the case with Quiet Nights. The flavor is a wonderful cedar and spice, with a touch of pepper. It's a bit sharp when smoked fresh, but mellows out considerably after just a few weeks in a jar. It requires more relights than other blends I've tried and tends to bite if smoked too quickly, but it's so good it's hard for me to slow down. When I find the right cadence, it's exquisite. The nic hit is pretty substantial and more than I'd like, so it's not what I'd consider an all-day smoke, but I only have a single bowl in the evening anyway. This is one of a handful of blends I plan on stocking up and cellaring.

Love this stuff
One of my favorites. Just be sure to let it sit for a week or two after opening. A bowl from the freshly opened tin will not be as good. I have a pound and a half in the cellar now.

Musty, but in a Good Way
This blend has an odd dusty texture that packs well and smokes cool. The flavor is musty - but in a good way - and rather balanced. It's a medium Latakia/Oriental English, but complex, with some spice from the Perique and a whole host of other interesting notes. It gradually mellows as you go, and finishes with a sweet and mellow room note, delightfully musty. Overall, quite intriguing, and will keep you coming back.

Rich and Deep
A most satisfying tobacco. Along with Abingdon, two of the finest blends I’ve smoked. Much better than Nightcap in my view. Plan to start buying the eight ounce tins. Kudos to Greg Pease.

Expected too much
I think the rave reviews on YouTube made me expect too much. It's a nice mild English but I just wasn't bowled over by it. I'm going to let it age some and see what that does. I suspect that, along with my now lowered expectations, will improve my opinion. I did like it, but I was expecting a new favorite, and that it isn't.

Delightful!
I ordered this blend after seeing a review on the "stuff and Things " YouTube channel were he gave a very good review. My go-to Blends have always been Dunhill 965,Nightcap and HH Vintage Syrian. This blend for me blows all of them out of the water. Very Very smooth and Creamy, with a wonderful overall taste. This is my new favorite English/Balkan blend. For me you could only do better with maby Penzance. But if you love a very good English/Balkan blend give this one a try you will not be disappointed.

Better than good
This is simply and outstanding tobacco. It is always special when I have a bowl and it is hard not to follow that with a second. Far better to me than Penzance. This has been my #1 for over a year.

Great tobacco!
Rich and earthy, right amount of latakia. Actually just finished the tin and the smoke was pleasant till the very last bit. When smelling the room note, friends would tell me its very mysterious and inviting, and smells like a campfire deep in the woods.

GL Pease Quiet Nights, The Master Blend
First and foremost, GL Pease is a master blender. I have never tried so many tobaccos from a single blender, that are consistently amazing. I can go on and on about his blends, and how he masterfully mixes the details, but this is about Quiet Nights..... I have been smoking Quiet Nights for 5 years now, and it is my go to blend, and will be my favorite blend for the rest of my life. Its rich, and the flavors are bold, yet smooth and deeply complex. Its smokey profile is the canvas for which all the other tobaccos are masterfully painted on, and it works to enhance them in a way I have not tasted before. It is like an oil painting exposed to light (your eyes create the color). Its smokey profile has a creaminess to it that is seldom encountered in many latakia blends that I have tried. The perique adds a spice that is hidden in the background, yet it is consistent throughout the bowl and by no means unnoticeable, and by no means overpowering. It contains the perfect amount, and the smokey/creaminess of the latakia adds body to that spice, and takes away the burn like cream and pepper. The virginias and orientals add a subtle sweetness/floral flavor that works to mellow out the entire blend, but are are not pronounced individually, but rather mix with the latakia and the perquie to create something new entirely. I would imagine without those two components, this blend would knock you out for its strength, but due to the masterful blending, its a smooth smoke with no tongue bite (none of his blends bite), relaxing, and easy to enjoy. My wife even enjoys the smell. Even all of my aromatic smoking friends find this enjoyable to smell, which is saying a lot for an English blend. I enjoy smoking this blend more than I do a nice glass of whiskey, or scotch, fine wine, or any drink for that matter. When I think of smoking a pipe, this blend comes to mind. I have found no other blend that compares to this one. If you are looking for a blend that forces you to sit down and think about life, something that has a taste and complexity that you could meditate on for hours, then this blend is for you. And if your in the business of more than one bowl per session, I would suggest that you pair this one before GL Pease Westminster. Smoking Quiet Nights first really opens the gates to enjoying Westminster in a whole new way. Anthony
Customer Testimonials
Quiet nights, a fine smoke indeed! I would say is certainly a more bold english blend. But, i think it's that way because the orientals are on the medium side. They stick out a bit. Which, for me, is not an all day smoke. More of a once a week smoke. But, when im in the mood for orientals, this and gaslight are my "go-to" blends. Medium nic hit. Medium-strong room note. The tin note is AMAZING, more of the latakia but the perique is there as well...and what i do love about orientals is their tin note...and it is there! Softly, a little more in the background...but still present and oh so good. A fine tobacco mixture, more on the complex side and very enjoyable. I highly recommend!!!
DL of Kansas City, MO
Very smooth and burns to a fine white ash. It is not quite as creamy or full as Penzance, but still a satisfying smoke that has a much better room note than Penzance. I believe Penzance has more latakia, and, of course, no perique. Still, this is a very fine blend in its own right, and well worth a try for any pipe smoker. In addition, I love the cut. Smooth, burns well, packed in the tin like majesty, burns to a fine white ash, and I like it!
