Spark (Plug?) Crumble Cake
Nice latakia blend. More of a crumble cake than a true plug, but still great.

The key to the smoky, bacony, deep flavored bowl
I’m newer to pipe tobacco. I generally do not smoke this by itself as I enjoy it more added ~20% to another tobacco. My favs are when added to Sherman’s March or Vermont Meat Candy for the taste of a maple smoked Boston butt. When folks at the cigar club ask what Spark Plug is like I tell them “imagine you’ve been working on your 68 Camaro all day and your covered in oil. All the while your buddy has been roasting a whole hog in your yard.” It’s just great.

Delicious challenge
It certainly takes some involvement to prepare and then to maintain the light. But the aroma and flavor are worth the effort!

Nice, the latakia is light
Nice, the latakia is light but my blending with abit of Black Cavendish intensifies the flavor. This is one that I'll be back for more !

Leathery Goodness!
Amazing blend! This is my favorite English to this point as a fairly new smoker. I know this will be blasphemy to many, but I like it more than Plum Pudding! The caveat being that I have not had PP with any age on it. So that could change once I’m able to age my PP. Unless you’ve tried Spark Plug, don’t knock that statement until you’ve tried it, you may just be shocked and have a new favorite. Anyway, amazing notes of leather in both the tin and smoke itself, with touch of sweetness from the Virginia. It’s as advertised, and you don’t always get that. The only small criticism I would lend is that it does seem to require a lot of relighting. Though playing with how you pack and break up may resolve that some, I will try. Small price to pay in any case for a grand smoke.

Smokey latakia up front blended
Smokey latakia up front blended with Virginia's some orientals. Pressed that some like to slice off. I put it in my wife's blender. Ask first LOL

Gasoline in dessert form
Amazingly strong and yet, when you rub it right and prep it right, super smooth and sophisticated. Just amazingly delicious. Definitely has both a gasoline note and a subtle sweetness.

Great for those latakia heads
Great for those latakia heads out there. Deep, musty smoke with just enough balance to keep it interesting. It sort of reminds me of Gaslight with a little extra latakia punch. Recommended for sure!

Smells like it sounds
Leathery, greasy, smoky, delicious tobacco. There is a herbal incense dark spice that comes through about halfway through the bowl. Cut into small pieces it burns great and last a long time. Strong in flavor but modest in strength...perfection.

Unpretentious and Relentlessly Excellent
An intense blend bolstered by true English spirit! Opening the tin to reveal a complex plug of pure tobacco bliss was a pleasure. The square of precisely layered tobacco resembled a homemade brownie cooked to absolute perfection...it even hosted a bit of a glossy sheen on the top layer. Carving a slice brought my intuition and creativity forward. I rubbed the slice to perfection and inhaled the raw aroma...nothing concocted or manufactured, simply nature demonstrating its skills as if to thank GL Pease for releasing it from its reigns. Some have suggested a tin note reminiscent of a car tire...poppycock. This is the raw and relentless aroma of a purely masculine smoke. It burns easy and quite warm, but not hot. This, my friends, is finely cured and presented tobacco without pretention.

Wow...
Lads, this one would be perfect if it weren’t for the trouble keeping it lit. I give it 4.9-and-a-half stars. The taste is something that a novice or an old timer could appreciate.

Sparkplug is my new jump start
Really enjoy this plug style tobacco. The review was spot on and I enjoy cutting up the tobacco. Take your time, enjoy the process and then sit back and feel like days gone by enjoying a very rounded, smooth and satisfying bowl.

Quickly Becoming A Favorite
An excellent complex smoke - one highly recommended for the more experienced smoker. Has a great full body character with more than adequate smoke (although due to the moisture content it is sometimes difficult to light).

Great Smoke with a hint of Clove or cedar lots of Latakia no bite
Just when i thought G.L. Pease had invented all of the flavors known to Latakia blends he comes up with one that tastes like it has clove and sometime a hint of cigar, which lingers on the pallet for a time after finishing the bowl. When i opened the container it had a smell of lots of Latakia and a special spice which was ready to smoke upon opening. Some have said it has a hint of cedar and i concur with that also. The flavors float in and out, but are never totally absent in this great smoke. I an tell you what the tobacco tastes like but i am not experienced enough to pick out the Virginias or Turkish Flavor. For me, Spark Plug has a combination of flavors which complement each other all the way to the bottom of the bowl. I am now reading it may be best to stop short of the bottom to prevent burnout. There is no bite or throat issues with this blend and it seems to be a medium strength tobacco. I suggest you pack it very lightly and sip slowly. This may not be an all day smoke but would go great on your back deck in a comfortable chair watching the sun go down and slugging down coffee.

This must be the Mary Poppins of all baccys - "…practically perfect in every way!"
Amazing! Closed my eyes, and I was right back in Blighty speeding along the country lanes in my MG with a Peterson, stoked with The Balkan Sobranie Smoking Mixture! …ah heaven!!!! …this stuff has to be experienced to be believed! Fabulous baccy (…rapidly becoming my favourite!) Well done GLP!
