Hearth & Home Signature Caramel Apple Pie

Some years back, we ran a program called Fusion Lab to allow people to make their own blend and have it voted upon by the P&C Faithful to pick their favorite, and here it is - Hearth & Home Signature Caramel Apple Pie. There's a mellow fresh apple note along with a splash of warm caramel flavor. The remarkable inclusion of toasty red Virginia brings in a flavor that will remind you of pie crust. For those who enjoy an understated aromatic with and intriguing taste and aroma, Caramel Apple Pie will win you over.

not enough flavor but smells great
smelled wonderful out of the bag, excellent room not, but the flavor just isn't there. It also came quite wet which is sometimes a problem as I live in a very humid area. tried drying it out but to no avail. I initially thought it was improper packing/tamping since I'm a beginner but after trying summer signature harvest, turned out the technique was fine as summer harvest burned well. this would be a great to mix with a stronger tobacco but alone its just not that great. I know I should have listened to the other reviewers, but generally I enjoy what others consider weak blends since I'm a very casual user

Good things come to those who wait
When the tobacco arrived it was too wet. I did quick dry some and it was good tobacco but I was not picking up much of the Caramel Apple. Ultimately if you let the tobacco dry a bit, it is very good. I did mix some with some other tobacco and it really is awesome.

Not bad, not Carmel apple either
This is a very smooth and pleasant tobacco but the Carmel apple flavors were to light for me to notice.

Not What I Thought It Would Be
After reading it's description I was really looking forward to getting it and trying it but I wasn't all that impressed with this blend. I thought that this would have a really nice room note and a nice, sweet caramel apple/buttery flavor but it was pretty flavorless and a little too mild overall for my taste. I ended up mixing it with a few other bulk blends and it didn't really alter the flavor or aroma of those either. There are some less expensive "alternative" bulk blends here on P&C that deliver a much fuller flavor and more aromatic smoke IMO.

A novice opinion
Well... didn't smell any Apple or caramel. Still an ok tobacco. Probably won't order again unless I am mixing it with another tobacco of similar aroma.

Review
I’m fairly new to pipe smoking so I’m not the best person to judge any given tobacco. Just based off of what I’ve tried of the bulk tobaccos at my local smoke shop I absolutely love the caramel apple pie. Its not as in your face as other aromatics I’ve tried.

Big Aroma, Little Flavor
Not much taste/flavor after the 1st puff, nice room-note. Good for putting the smell of Fall Season in the air, but, nothing more.

Excellent Product
Excellent note, very mild and relaxing. just a hint of caramel.

Fair, but not excellent.
Caveat: I have only recently returned to a pipe after many, many years without. That being said, I found this to burn a bit hot and wet, with somewhat of a heavy bite. Nice taste and room appeal, though. While it is enjoyable, it is not my first choice when I grab a pipe in the evening.

A new favorite
Great burning blend with an awesome taste and smell. One of my favorites ever.

No taste, just a pleasant room-note
No taste, but, pleasant room-note. Would only buy for the occasional smoke around the fall holiday season's.

Decent tobacco, not much flavor, a bit bitter at the end.
Packs and lights well, doesn't bite, decent moisture. However, if you're expecting something super mellow that does what it says on the tin, this isn't it. Lacks really any apple or caramel flavoring that I could discern or even smell from the tin. Decent blend otherwise, if a bit bitter towards the end. It's not bad tobacco, just left me a bit disappointed.

Deliciousness in a pipe
I work in railroad business and we're out side for hours normally I'll smoke this before my 13 hour shift is over as soon as the crew smells this they know it's almost time to go home (I taste Carmel barely any apple but u can smell the apple I get compliments of wow smells like apple pie or complaints of hey where is the tobacco that smells good ) it's a great smooth sweet smoke and a people pleaser

No flavor
Little to no flavor. I received this and their Egg Nog flavor. No discernible difference between the two. Will probably throw them in the bin.

Drying it made all the difference.
I' wasn't immediately impressed. It also bit. I smoked a bowl and moved on to other favorites. Several days later I saw that there was a burn hole in the Baggie. So, being Scottish, and not having any other bags to replace it with (I was traveling) I figured I'd give it another go before my investment was ruined (after all, I bought en entire ounce to test it). What a difference some air makes! Although Caramel Rush is my favorite, this tobacco has gained my attention. I'll definitely be ordering this in bulk and letting it breath for a while upon arrival.

Worth a try
Maybe it is better in the tin? Definitely good, just not top of the line to me.

Caramel Apple Pie Bulk
I have always ordered this in 8 ounce tins, it was on back order, so I ordered it in bulk, my opinion is bulk is better. For me this blend is a favorite , l smoke it often in a large pipe, relax, sip, and don't get in a hurry. Very flavorful, mild and nice room note.

Nice aroma, sour aftertaste
I thought I would like this better than I did. I had trouble coping with the sourness of the after taste. Thought it was my pipe at first, turns out the blend just wasn't for me. My wife did like the aroma however!

Not much apple taste
Overall, this is a good aromatic baccy. Seems to be a good quality with the appropriate amount of moisture. It has a smooth taste with no bite and pleasant room note. My only complaint is that I expected it actually taste somewhat like a caramel apple pie, which would be a stretch. But, I guess you could say it has the slightest hint of caramel apple.

Very good extremely fast shipping never had a problem great tast

Not bad, but extremely mild
I don’t know if it’s the fault of the tobacco, but this blend is extremely mild. If I didn’t see smoke coming out of my mouth I wouldn’t be sure I was smoking anything. I’ll have to add something a little more robust to it for enhancement.

Very mild and very smooth. Not as much flavor as I thought it would have though....

Nice
Prompt service. Nice and smooth with a cinnamon flavor. I was hoping for more caramel vanilla but still quite nice.

Good aro!
I just recently started pipe smoking and still exploring all the different blends but this is a good aromatic for the holidays and around other people since the room note is pleasant. It kinda has a cinnamon smell. Very smooth smoke

The Mellowest Smoke
This tobacco has a pleasant taste and burns well. It's really enjoyable on a cool night while just sitting out on the porch.

Meh.....
It was OK, I guess I expected more caramel and apple taste to come through. Not a bad smoke, just not for me.
Customer Testimonials
Not too bad. I'm relatively new to pipes so I guess I expected a little more caramel apple flavor. I noticed a few other reviews mentioned a chemical taste and I actually experienced the same thing until I read the review stating that it's better to "sip it." tried it and it is WAY more enjoyable. Still doesn't beat Autumn Spice as far as the flavor and aroma goes but still for the price, what the heck. Definitely worth a try.
I am currently smoking my first bowl. When opening the tin the aroma was distinctly caramel apple...just as I expected and wanted it to be. My first smoke of any new blend is usually in a good old corncob, so I packed it and off to the back yard I went!! I told my wife what I was going to smoke and she immediately asked me to keep the window open so she could enjoy it too. As with any aromatic, the tin note is much stronger than the actual smoke. However, I was pleasantly surprised, as the slight hint of apples did come through. It is a good and gentle smoke, although a little hot for my corncob. All thought the bowl, the taste of apples stayed. All in all, a very pleasant smoke first time out.
Got home tonight, had supper and lit up the corn cob.Man oh man was I SUPRISED. Don't know how they did it,what they mixed but they got this one right.Pleasent aroma, great taste. Just right to the point. If you don't try this one out you don't know what your missing. Thanks H&H.
This is a heavenly smoke, thanks Russ for your great blends.
This is really great stuff! sweet, savory, fully rounded complexity. I've smoked more than a few Aromatics in my day and I can honestly say that this is probably one of the most complex Aro's I've ever smoked as far as taste is concerned, and that's in a good way. It goes a step above being just another Aro in my book because it retains the slightest bit of that sweet, honest to goodness tobacco taste most of us love. It has an awesome tin note that smells like a sweet caramel apple with cinnamon. The smell transfers over to the taste of the smoke wonderfully without being sickeningly sweet. Be careful because I noticed if you don't sip this one, it can turn a little spicy on you if you smoke like a freight train and I think too many people are taking that as tongue bite, in my opinion, it's just a flavor profile that you have to be gentle with
Not bad room note but did not enjoy the taste.
Well, not what I expected at all, I do not smell or taste Caramel or Apple, has a bit of bite for me, it is a good smoke after I let it sit out for about 10 min. Shipping on all products has been very fast from P&C....Thank you.
As I am a huge apple fan I love this pipe tobacco!! Brings back many child hood memories of the neighbors apple trees!!! My favorite way to enjoy this tobacco is with a hard cider after work. I also enjoy the way it burns in my pipe & my wife enjoys the aroma. I enjoy the tobacco so much I have a dedicated pipe and pipe pouch just for this tobacco !!! I am a novice pipe smoker so that may or may not be appropriate but it is what I have decided to do.
This is one of the best aromatics I've tried it is now in my rotation .
Ohhhh this one was sweat. Wasn't very strong but very good in aroma. I found this tobacco to be an excellent after lunch/dinner tobacco, especially when mixed with Peterson's whiskey flavored tobacco.
