Hearth & Home Signature Marble Kake Sale

We have wanted to produce our own Virginia-based flake or crumble cake, and the result is Hearth & Home Signature Marble Kake. A firmly-pressed blend of Bright and Red Virginias, it comes as a solid piece which can be broken or sliced and rubbed-out, and the flavor changes depending upon how you prepare it. One of our knowledgeable Virginia fans has compared it to Hamborger Veermaster as a smooth, but tasty Virginia blend.

Gweat stuff.
This stuff is phenomenal. And that’s coming from someone who typically doesn’t care for Virginias. Maybe because it has a tone that isn’t as sweet as some others, and there’s a certain dryness to its smoke without being arid. Some fruit but not too much. It appeals. It’s refreshing. Iced tea without sugar. Like a crisp, blue sky spring day. I haven’t smoked much yet, but this may be ‘my’ Virginia, something I reach for whenever I want a good anytime smoke and I don’t wanna think about it. And it smokes like a champion without any effort, fresh crumbled from the bag no less. Minimal relighting, would probably benefit from some drying. For a Virginia, smokabllity like this is something I’ve been looking for. I’m a believer in the theory that Virginia’s experience a mimicry of the aging process when given a char light, then allowed to rest for as long as a few days; I gave it a 1/8th of a bowl smoke and a few hours somewhat by accident, and to my astonishment the high Virginia notes were deeply subdued, replaced by a warm, sweet and subtle graham-cracker smoke of tantalizing richness. Astonishing. I was flabbergasted. I’ll be ordering more to age for certain. Give it a try.

If you really like Virginia's, give this one a try. The problem with this one for me, is it's all Virginia and a little boring. I expected it to change and the flavors develop and change as you smoke it but not so much. Definitely one to try if Virginias are your thing.
