Hearth & Home Signature Marble Kake

We have wanted to produce our own Virginia-based flake or crumble cake, and the result is Hearth & Home Signature Marble Kake. A firmly-pressed blend of Bright and Red Virginias, it comes as a solid piece which can be broken or sliced and rubbed-out, and the flavor changes depending upon how you prepare it. One of our knowledgeable Virginia fans has compared it to Hamborger Veermaster as a smooth, but tasty Virginia blend.

Very Nice, I Like!
Break it, snap it, fold it, or rub it, any way you prepare Marble Kake, it's Great! It tastes kind of like Corn Flakes. Also, works great to soften up more rich aromatics! I'll be ordering more soon.

Not a bad evening mixture. Went well with high end bourbon on the rocks.

Great for VA variety...
Marble Kake is a great, very subtle, not overly sweet VA,mine came fairly dry, solid prices ok cake, irregular pieces..I rubbed to irregular chunks for smoking...I expected slightly more sweet, but still toasty, deep VA taste, tangy, slight bread..nic is low..but there..a great addition to the cellar shelf...

Marble kake
I am partial to cakes, flake tobacco and press tobacco. This one had a little bit of each, but while I love the way it burns there seems to be just a little bite or sting of spiciness above and beyond what I was hoping for. I’m trying to find the best pipes that I have that smoke this well. If I don’t find anything else in the Virginia I’ll probably stick to this for a while. I also use cube cake.

Excellent Virginia Crumble Kake
I recently picked up a couple of ounces. I enjoyed it so much I ordered more. Then I ordered more! This makes a wonderful anytime kind of smoke. But with its well balanced sweetness I enjoy it with my morning Joe. Not overly complex and nicotine is about right. Recommended.

It is really that good
Very simple answer to review this tobacco. It's good.

Slice it.
This stuff is growing on me and I'm starting to be convinced that they really know what they're doing. It doesn't burn well at all, though - never seems to quite catch fire well or produce a good head of smoke - no matter if I smoke it as a chunk OR rub it out. The description mentions slicing it, so I tried that and that seems to be the secret. This stuff really needs to be sliced up fine with a good chef's knife and then, all of a sudden, it smokes like a dream. Mixes well with some dark fired kentucky to give it some umph.

As a companion to Anniversary Kake, I love this stuff. Not as sweet, but with a wonderful depth of flavor. Easily my second favorite VaPer.

Okay. Not flake.
This is pretty decent, but I'm not in love with the Kake format. I suspect it's derivative, they're just mixing up some different kinds of Virginia ribbon, sandwiching it between two sheets of plywood and parking their car on it. There are a lot of straight Virginia flakes that are better but it's a good change of pace.

Marble Cake Bulk
Very nice non aromatic blend. Coarse cut when rubbed out and stays lit, but I'd suggest a larger bowl for this blend. Retro smoking allows the slight spicness of the Virginia to come through. To me, there's a slight cocoa, dry top note. I'll stock up!

Marble Kake - Great Simple VA
I’ve tried a bunch of them (McClelland 5100, Sutliff VA Slices, SG Best Brown, etc.). This is the one I keep returning to. A great review on Tobacco Reviews says it best: if you’ve got a bunch of jars of baccy but can’t decide what’s right for the next smoke, then smoke some marble kake while deciding. Still can’t decide? Then smoke some more. Hey, maybe this stuff is what I really wanted all along. Yep. It is.

Too Good
Please don't stop making this or something like it. You need to smoke enough of this to appreciate it. It does change a little while smoking but what it has is so solid that it doesn't need to morph all over the place. Sweet, mildly fruity, and solid Virginia tang.

It's a little tough getting it started and kind of blend but once it's going it's going great! Very mellow with a subtle touch of sweet. Perfect for the long car ride home from work.

I love Marble Kake
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Reminds me of a good cigar; I have this for those nights when I just want some good tobacco without the sweet flavorings. Good for porch sittin.

Excellent Virginia leaf in Crumble Cake form. Being also a frequent smoker of C&D Briar Fox, H&H Marble Kake has always peaked my interest. So I finally gave in and purchased a few ounces....I was not disappointed. The Kake itself crumbles up quite easily, packs easily and smokes great. Nothing but pure tobacco here, so the smoke is rich and smooth. In comparison to Briar Fox, I'd say that Briar Fox is a bit stronger in taste, but Marble Kake is by no means lacking. The press of the kake itself is a bit different as well, where C&D Briar Fox kake is @ an inch thick, Marble Kake is @ a half inch thick. Makes no difference in the quality of the leaf or the smoke, just an observation on my part. I don't do nuance's of hayseed or lip balm, or any other such nonsense. To me, tobacco falls in to one of two categories......1 - it taste's good......2 - it taste's bad .....and H&H Marble Kake definitely rates a solid - 1.....choice....very choice.

I love Virginias, i love cakes... i love marbles... nothing special about it but that's why its so good. grassy, figgy, chunky, sweet, finicky, slightly vinegary. better and better as the bowl burns. great alone, good as a base. hard to find a cadence that stays on the sweet spot but thats the fun of it. for me virginias are an odd thing. by themselves there is nothing in particular that stands out, but when you get them right and you get your cadence down there doesn't have to be. its just extremely satisfying... that's my review summed up. extremely satisfying.

Quality Virginia
I love virginias, this is perfect. Comes in a tight block, should age very well. If your a fan of pure virginias, get ya some. Priced very fair.

Great Service and Great Tobacco
Purchased, international age verification was quick, and shipment was delivered quickly. The real 5 stars for me is the tobacco. Marble Kake is my favourite Virginia blend. The first few puffs are dry and somewhat bland, but once this finally gets going its a steady, rich, tasty smoke. A great touch of sweetness and just enough flavour complexity to make every puff wonderful, but not so overwhelming as to require you to sit down and contemplate life. 9 times out of 10 I go for this Virginia blend year round.

The over all flavor was good but getting it in condition to smoke takes some work. Very bunched and tight, reminds me of texture of things from younger...activities of a less legal lifestyle. Again good smoke, not all the flavored type smells but that is good! I would buy it again

Customer Testimonials
If you really like Virginia's, give this one a try. The problem with this one for me, is it's all Virginia and a little boring. I expected it to change and the flavors develop and change as you smoke it but not so much. Definitely one to try if Virginias are your thing.
