Lane 1-Q

I have tried many different pipe tobaccos, but for years now Lane 1-Q has been my regular daily smoke. It is offers a smooth smoke and a delightful room note. I get many compliments on the aroma of this cavendish blend.

This is really an outstanding pipe tobacco! It has become my favorite out of all the tobaccos I've ever smoked!

1-Q is the one aromatic tobacco that consistently gives me the taste and experience I desire from an aromatic. Many of them are just smoke, but 1-Q actually gives me taste all the way through the bowl.

My go to everyday smoke, non-pipers always compliment the room note.

Why wouldn't someone like Lane 1Q since it has been at the top of the Favorite list for decades throughout the country? It is very mild, so no burning tongue or raw palette after a pipe full or even at the end of the day. And, no less important in these times, its pleasing aroma is welcomed by most none smokers.

Lane Limited 1-Q tobacco is an awesome smoke. It burns well and the taste is delicious as is the aroma. It is no wonder that this is the Best Selling Tobacco in the US. It is one of my favorite tobaccos.

A very appealing and smooth aromatic tobacco. An all-day smoker and a good one to blend with other types. Highly recommended. I give it a solid 4 stars, reserving the 5 star for the best of the best. You will not be disappointed to add 1-Q to your cellar as a stand-alone tobacco or for blending with BCA, or even an English.

I encouraged myself to try this when reading the endless hype it gets on every review. It's good don't get me wrong, but I just don't see anything really awesome about it. I've said it once and I'll say it again, it's definitely worth a try. Worth putting in your aromatic rotation.

I love this tobacco and I always get nice comments from folks who are around when I have a bowl. Found Lane 1Q at JR's after years of getting tobacco from a shop in NC. Pipes and Cigars prices are the best and shipping is pretty fast. If you haven't tried this smoke then give it a try.

Now, in the grand scheme of things, I am still fairly new to the hobby of pipe smoking. I have been smoking on and off for about four years now, this last year having really driven head first into all this hobby has to offer. That said, my pallet can be all over the place! Believe it or not, I started with Burley but soon found that my taste tends to lend itself toward heavier Latakia blends. Aromatics were surprisingly the last "type" that I had tried. I can see why Lane 1-Q is a staple for pipe smokers around the globe. It truly is an all day type blend that is mild, yet very satisfying. You know those mild blends you may smoke that leave you saying "well there really wasn't much too that." Lane 1-Q is NOT that! Starts mild, burns very cool, no bite, and an all around good taste! For the newer pipe smokers out there, this should definitely be one to try; as it packs easily, stays lit, and gives you the smoke you want!

Sometimes you need an all-day, any day, anywhere kind of smoke. This stuff is just ok to me, but it's good for what it is.

I make my own blend with all three of these. There is another blend I use as a condiment but if I give up my secret with proportions mixed and the condiment, it will not be my own blend. All three are good on their own but when you mix them and jar it for 3 to 6 months, something magical happens.

Somewhat moist, smooth smoking. Let it dry out before putting in air tight container and it will be fine. Used as base for further blending.

Finally got the genuine legendary 1Q. I can't say other than what has been repeated about this one y'all..Very mellow,non biting,perfect moisture,excellent flavors of vanilla,caramel,light cocoa...Got half a pound to chill with..I REALLY like this one .

My limited experience of pipe smoking has found Lane 1-Q is the best. There is a huge number of blends not tried but Pipes and Cigars is a good provider of different blends. P&V hopefully will continue to promote a variety of different blends. The more blends I try will confirm Lane as being #1.

Excellent tobacco that is mild enough to smoke all day long and, unlike some tobaccos I have tried, manages to pretty much stay lit. Will definitely be purchasing again in the near future.

The lane 1q has a good light flavor. I got hints of vanilla, caramel, and honey, but they were very subtle.

Very different than what I thought it would be! Very little bite and pretty smooth and burns quite well! flavor is evading back and forth! All in all not the greatest i've ever had, but certainly not the worst! I would buy again! I normally smoke all aromatics as I don't like the rough stuff! I would say this is just in between those two! Can't beat the prices here! If you can prove your a honorably discharged veteran, they give you a discount but only if you call it in!

I recently bought a bit of this to try, after reading all the positive reviews. When it first arrived, I was a bit unsure because the aroma out of the bag, while not in any way bad, was a bit unremarkable, for lack of a better term. But it packed well, lit easily, burned like a dream, and provided a great taste and a very, very pleasant smoke. I smoked the first bowl by the campfire on one of our annual camping/surfing trips. A couple of the girls we camp with commented on how much they liked the room note. Anyhow, this is a very nice aromatic and an excellent smoke; I'll definitely be buying more in the future.

Local cigar shop used to sell 1-Q. However when new owners bought it they ran off the pipe smokers. I bought 1 # of 1-Q from Pipes & Cigars and very happy. In stock at great price. That cigar store lost an 18 yr customer, and Pipes & Cigars got a new one. Will be ordering again soon.

Some of my friends say it tastes like vanilla, some say honey, some say nougat. I think caramel and smoke a bunch of it. That about sums it up!

Have been smoking for about 18 months - pleasant aroma, minimum bite. Have tried other Lane mixtures but always come back to 1-Q as favorite.

I have been looking for something that is close to C.C. cavendish (which is my favorite every day smoke) and this is the closest that I have found. It is not too sweet and no tongue bite at all. Also has a nice room note. I will be purchasing more.

Lane Limited 1Q is a very pleasant every day smoke. The room note is the same as the taste. A wonderful honey and vanilla flavor with no bite.

This is my favorite tobacco. I just laid in 2 pounds. The subtle honey/vanilla flavor is fantastic. Smooth,cool burning,aromatic you gotta try it if you haven't. I got my first taste in a sampler. I've been buying it since. The bulk bags are such a great value. It's the sticky sweet of the pipe tobacco world.

If you have fond memories of someone in your life smoking a deliciously sweet, fragrant pipe, there's a fair chance this is what you smelled. It's been a go-to for many a pipe smoker for decades, with good reason. Naturally, the aroma is heavenly, but this is also one of the most flavorful aromatics I've ever had. It was the first tobacco I tried, and it was the reason I didn't understand at first why people claimed aromatics have little or no flavor. This has plenty! That said, it's a very light, gentle flavor that awards patience, with just the right hint of creamy vanilla. It might be my favorite blend. I haven't decided. I'm not an all-day smoker, but this stuff makes me want to be. It certainly is friendly, mild and smooth enough to be an all-day smoke, as many here have already said.

Simply awesome. What a great vanilla flavor. Very smooth smoke. This is going to be my go to tobacco. Try it you'll be delighted and more than a little surprised at the great flavor and low cost. I like several Lane tobacco's but this is by far my favorite.

I'm not much of an aromatic guy. Give me a good English blend any 5/7 days...until now. This blend is just fantastic and has easily taken 1st place on my aromatic list. The vanilla note is upfront but not overpowering. Chocolate and honey come right behind nicely. The room aroma is fantastic, which makes my wife quite happy. And the price?! I've had blend 3 times the price that are outdone by IQ. Believe the hype. There is a reason it has been a favorite for pipe smokers for decades.

Smoked 1Q for years was able to buy at my local B&M but the doors closed. P&C sells fresh tobacco and 1Q has been my main blend for to long to stop puffing it now.

I'm a newbie to tobacco but this project appeared to be very fresh and clean and had a wonderful aroma in the bag. It smoked well and I can recommend it to anyone. FYI, all the other varieties of baccy I've bought from P&C have also been very satisfactory.

The tobacco smokes good with very little tongue bite. Smells great and burns good. The only reason I give it four stars is it doesn’t have very much flavor to it. Still with all that said I think it a great tobacco and will be buying lots more in the future.

This is truly my favorite smoke. Smooth, great taste and burn. Leaves a great room note that even leaves me smelling like vanilla.

My experience tells me Lane Q1 can be found in vertially any where across the country but getting it can sometime be difficult as individual tobacco shops give it various retail names for instance in Dallas, Tx. the name given by most but not all is Aristocrat, in Colorado Springs it's called Timberline. Fortuniately for us "Pipes and cigars" always in stock, just remember to purchase a new batch before running out.

To me, this is a pleasant cool smoking mixture with no bite. Enough taste to enjoy just one bowl & and mild enough for an all-day smoke.

In bought 1-Q because of the high rating, and I must say it is highly overrated. The cut was good. The moisture was not. I had to leave it in an opened humidor for two weeks before it even began to dry out, any, at all in a moisture atmosphere of 32%. In the meantime, I performed the oven method only to have proper moisture but absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The aroma is heavenly but none of it translates to flavor in any capacity. I would say it is a wonderful smelling tobacco but it's just an ordinary tobacco when smoked.

Its what everyone says it is but mine had to be dried before use. Was kinda moist.

Came quick and at a good enough moisture to smoke. No complaints. Plus it's 1Q so it's pretty hard to hate.

If you want a very mild all day smoke try Lane 1-Q. No bite. Low room note. This tobacco can be used for a blending base. I like to smoke heavy British blends so this was to mild for me. However, give it a try.
