MATCH Field & Stream

This is a match to House of Windsor Field & Stream. This semi-aromatic blend is made with smooth, white Burley, sweet, bright Virginia and a touch of black Cavendish with a mellow top note that is truly one-of-a-kind. The original was a favorite of the late president Gerald Ford. If you like old-time semi-aromatics, you're sure to enjoy MATCH - Field & Stream.

Used field and stream years ago then switched to half and half. Tried the Match stream and really like it. It will be my regular from now on.

Still good stuff
Very close to the original. Room small is a bit too mild, more aromatic in the old days

An all day codger blend smoke
I have been on a codger blend kick lately and figured after trying many types, Carter Hall seemed to be my choice for an all day smoke. Then, I discovered this mixture. I never smoked the original but this blend is a keeper. I am not great at describing all the flavor nuances but this stuff smokes great packs nicely and is a smooth all day smoke. While not being sickly sweet, it has a "fresh" flavor to it. Kind of like being by a field or stream :) I am going to cellar this fine blend so I will never be without. I have only smoked this blend in a cob. Cobs are all I smoke. Can't beat this combination.

Good All day smoke
Very good tobacco, tastes like velvet without the toppping or tongue bite.

Field & Stream match
Good all around aromatic with plenty of tobacco flavor. Licorice topping similar to Mix 79. Don't let that scare you, it's about the perfect topping for tobacco. No soap or florals. Presentation is excellent w/ large chunks of burley in a hearty mix. Burn is hit and miss, probably due to these same large burley chunks.

Nice gentle flavor
Has a nice gentle flavor of licorice and maybe some type of a whiskey in the background not overpowering. I really enjoy this one while walking outside in the woods on the back trails. For those that like the liquor ouzo this pairs well with it. Also pairs pretty good with southern comfort

Field & Stream
I really liked the original. This recipe match is excellent. Now, I can’t remember if there is even a difference. If you’re an F&S fan, give this a smoke. You’ll be happy.

My perfect blend
As a new pipe smoker, I've been in search of a blend that has a sweetness without being an overbearing aromatic, ease of smoke, and pleasant aroma. Match Field and Stream is without a doubt my perfect blend. The taste which they get from a burley is something I've yet to find anywhere else. Worth mentioning that I haven't enjoyed burleys before this one. I cannot recommend this tobacco enough, and personally will be investing in this one further!

really good mild tobacco, though it's a bit moist
This is a great tobacco.. nice flavor profile and good smoke. My only complaint is that it's a bit moist, although this can easily be cured. Has a bit of a licorice flavor and you can taste the burley. Reminds me of a beautiful fall day.

Very flavorful, first time try but will definitely get more. Burns evenly and cool with no bite.

...Better than the Original... excellent Match tobacco...I smoked a good deal of this back in the late '60's and early 70's... Sutliff's Match is far better than the original...

Fine tobacco, not as mild as I thought it would be, but serves the purpose.

Never disappoints
One of my everyday smokes. Lot's of flavor, well balanced. I can't figure out how it could be off the market. I smoke mostly at home but if I want something dependable to put in my pouch when I'm on the go- this is it.

Field & Stream
As soon as you open the bag, that familiar aroma of that classic blend hits you like the great outdoors. In my opinion, this is a 95% match of flavor and aroma you would expect from the original. I am not a fan of aromatic tobaccos, but this is the only one I smoke. I highly recommend this match for those who miss the original.

Match Field & Stream
Been smoking this for a while. Look the tobacco, just a blend that can be easily smoked all day.

Sorry but I wasn't impressed at all. Tasted weak and without the original flavors. This dog can't hunt !

Return to the old Field and Stream
Brings back memories from years long, long ago. Mild smoke, no bite, will once again be one of my go to smokes. Wife says she even likes the smell.

Better than Original...
I smoked the original Field & Stream for over 50 years until the company when out of business....House of Windsor, I think. The match seems to taste better for some reason. I like it and buy it in 5lb bulk a couple of times a year.

Nice smoke
Nice smoke. The taste and the room note is unique in a way I cannot describe, and is not overpowering, like many aromatics. Burned nice and cool, but for some reason could not seem to keep it lit. Could have been me, or my pipe. With the change in seasons around the corner, I feel that this blend will go great on a chilly afternoon with a pumpkin ale.
