Fantastic smoke
Strong anise smell, burns very well, taste is of slightly aged tobacco with a touch of anise. Not 5100 but is a damn good smoke

McClelland 5115
Quality tobacco. A little strong for my taste. If you like 2010 and want a little more body, give it a try. I'm glad that I tried it and will smoke it again if I can find a whiskey that's worthy !

Great Tobacco, Uncalibrated Scales
Mc 5115 is very quickly becoming one my favorites, based on the few oz I recently ordered. My order was ~1/2 oz shy, so either my scales or the vendors' were off a bit. But regardless, the tobacco rubs, packs and lights well, and is an excellent smoke, with the spicy "cypress-like" flavor that I enjoy becoming more enhanced throughout the entire bowl. I'll order more, and in greater quantity next time, and trust that the scales will not err.

came wet. had to dry out. once it did--it kept getting better deeper into the smoke. strong, dense but complex. almost a cedar closet --mahogany type essence.

For fellow sweet tooths!
This is a deeply sweet Virginia, and for that reason, one of my favorites. Tons of sweet fruit notes--a black cherry kind of sweetness. I find it difficult to smoke Viriginias slow and cool as they stimulate my sweet tooth (or should I say, "sweet tongue"?), but 5115 burns pretty slow if you rub it out gently. I recommend letting your pipe go out halfway through, giving it a rest, then light back up. Another winner from McLelland!

Quality tobacco with an interesting flavoring
It's a solid, high quality, McClelland virginia bulk flake tobacco that they are well known for, and I am a fan. With this blend, they add a mild and natural fruit flavoring with a light touch. It's not overpowering. It sort of reminds me of the taste of the liquid from a can of fruit cocktail. It really sort of works nicely to bridge all the other flavors. My first reaction was "that's clever." I liked it. I don't see myself smoking this all the time. I will probably order small amounts now and then, or perhaps cellar some to have occasionally. I can't tell if it will age well or not. The virginia base should definitely age good. I just have a feeling the fruit essence isn't really meant for long term storage, or probably won't improve with age.

Attractive & Flavorful Thick Virginia Flake Chunks That Are Fun To Rub Out
I liked the look, feel, aroma, and moisture content of this very high quality Virginia Flake the moment I first laid eyes on it and opened the sample. This is just a straight Virginia and may have a little fruit essence added, but the unadulterated pure Virginia tobacco flavor shines through. Some folk might be able to smoke this Flake with the fold and stuff method, but I prefer meticulously rubbing it all the way back down to leaf, and letting it dry for an hour or so (depending on the environment humidity or aridity) I then use the twist method of packing so that there can be a spiral pattern, and an even, stay lit burn. The tobacco prepared this way forms a nice central smoldering ember for absolutely blissful sipping the rich, thick, slightly sweet Virginia. Some say this Flake is a little too tangy, but I do not think so. Its one of the best Flakes I have smoked.

McClelland 5115 Old World Classic Cake
The description for this tobacco says it is zesty, a little too zesty by itself for me. That is why I mix 3 parts McClelland 2010 Classic Virginia to 1 part 5115. This mellows out the 5115 for me and brings out more flavor in the 2010. These blends really compliment each other for me. This has been my go to smoke for the past several months. mel

One of McClelland's top blends.
First impressions. Nice thick flakes but a bit dry. Packs well an burns slow as expected. Taste is excellent as expected frm McClelland. Didn't notice any citrus but as usual some of these "favors" that are reported are a stretch IMHO.

Nice change of pace
5115 is a broken flake, that appears slightly rubbed out but may take a bit more before filling a bowl. Color it is Brown, tan, blonde, with brown predominant. Aroma and taste carry an undertone of citrus. I didn't taste or smell any of the coffee flavor it's said to have. But the citrus is doesn't overwhelm in any way. This is said to be aromatic but that's a bit of a stretch in my opinion. It's a tangy taste and aroma. Personally, I prefer McClelland's 2000 - it's a bit softer in most respects. But as always, this is an excellent blend from McClelland.
