The General is one of the larger corn cob pipes, with a stylish black stem. It comes in straight or bent and delivers a long, relaxing smoke for an incredible price! Load up and sit out on the porch and relax. You will be there for a while.
The cob has always been my favorite- these are awesome pipes.
In my rotation I have a Savinelli Dry System 2604, a Nording Freehand, a Wellington 9.5", a Luciano SP A1281 and a Stanwell Royal Guard, I hate realizing how much money I wasted trying to find the right pipe, My Missouri Meerschaum General is a wonderful Pipe, I love it, after 3 bowls in this pipe I'm gonna order about 6 more, and dedicate them to each tobacco I smoke. Well worth the money.
I have many MM cob pipes, the General being the newest one in my collection. This thing is the "boss"...for a large pipe,it's not too heavy for clinching & gives a nice long smoke. You will be pleased with this big 'ol cob & Pipes And Cigars fast shipping.
I love the look and feel of the Generals. They smoke great and hold lots of tobacco. Missouri Meerschaum makes a great cob pipe.
I have a MM General used for a slow smoke competition. Its now one of my favorite pipes, especially for VaPer flakes. I added a forever stem and have not been happier.
I just got the General Straight a week ago and have been smoking it every night when I get home from work. Its performing wonderfully and I am someone who smokes the pipe right down to the ashes and the pipe has not gotten too hot to hold at all.I smoke virginia/periques exclusively and it draws very well. Great pipe for the price. One con, the stem is not very strong so i would suggest adding a soft bit on the end so you dont damage it with your teeth. mine is all scratched up and I dont clench tightly. I just let it rest in my mouth, but the weight of the pipe+tobacco pushes it into my teeth.
All around great pipe that has cultural significance. Durable, clean smoke and a bit of style that is not found among briar pipes and gains a bit of character after a good amount of use- that and the price cannot be beat.
I love my Missouri Meerschaums and the General is awesome... it's deep bowl provides a nice long smoke that lets you really enjoy your tobacco!
The MM General I received gets very hot no matter how slow and soft I try to smoke it. It tastes and smells like chemicals. To strong to even taste my tobacco. The hardwood plug at the bottom is not completely air tight, and the top walls of the chamber is thin on one side, with holes in it. I'm pretty disappointed with it, to say the least. With that said, I've been happy with every other MO Meerschaum product I've tried - and judging by other reviews, this was just a fluke. (Although I'm really not sure how this pipe made it past quality control) I definitely plan on purchasing another one and just hope that I will have better luck with the next one.
The General is a good quality cob. The bowl is easy to pack, and it's not too heavy despite how large it is. It's nice and sturdy with a better than average cob stem. Relights can be tricky if the tobacco is getting low in the chamber, but I'm still getting used to it.
I own 2 of these, one bent and one strait. They both smoke fantastically and if I take my time like I am supposed to, I usually get a nice hour to an hour and a half (depending on tobacco of course) smoke. My strait one is a bit bigger but that was because of the shortage at MM, but both are fantastic. I wanted something for a longer smoke but not so much so to get a MacArthur. This is a great pipe for those who want a longer smoke for a very affordable price.
I love this pipe. Cool smoking and can easily last an hour fully packed
This is really a wonderful pipe for a long smoke. The MM Cob design really delivers in cooling down the smoke and allowing you to taste the full spectrum of flavors from what every type of tobacco you are using at the time. Plus.. as an added bonus.. any MM cob pipe is a real workhorse that does not require any long periods of rest. I have smoked MM cobs several times a day every day without any problems. If you have never tried one... then give it a go.. you will not be disappointed.
