Good size bowl for a 45 minute pipe. Like all MM cobs, it smokes dry and cool. Nice clinch. Few things more American than smoking an American blended tobacco with an American corn cob pipe. Perhaps even on the 4th of July.

A great Cob pipe.
What a great pipe to introduce Cob Pipes. I've never used a cob pipe so I didn't know what to expect. I can tell you its quiet a shock, it doesn't need to be broken in, smoke is cool, and you'd expect it to be heavy due to size but its quiet light. Worth every penny. I purchased a 2nd one for a friend, who I am confident will enjoy it just as much as I have.

I smoked a blend that normally gives me tongue bite in this pipe. I still had to be careful, but I think this pipe helped— great smoker.

The Mark Twain is a great corncob
The right corncob for is all about "bore diameter." The Twain Bent is a great corn cob for loading in a cigar stub. It's a perfect pipe for a smoke while riding the lawn tractor or lounging on the patio. The mellow nature of smoke through a corncob is unmatched!

Great product.
I'm new to pipe smoking , but have smoked cigars for ten years. These corn cob pipes taste and smoke better than any of my ceramic, meerschaum or briar pipes.

Great pipe
Beautiful, simple, well constructed. Missouri Meerschaum is always top quality. I love the look and shape of the Mark Twain compared to my other MM cobs. Very good quality for such an inexpensive piece.

Excellent corn cob pipe!
Great pipe, hand feel is comfortable, smokes extremely cool, does not heat up. Thick walls makes the difference. If you are trying a corn cob for the first time this is the pipe to buy.

This pipe is a good
This pipe is a good cool smoke. I have had corncob pipes in the past, so I know what to expect. This pipe smokes dry, which is a great plus and it seems to moderate any tobacco bite. I have now smoked this pipe for about two weeks and while it shows signs of burning out, it is a long way from burnt out. Corncob pipes do not last like a brier pipe, but they give a cooler and dryer smoke with a hint of corncob taste.

Great Pipe
Just ordered my second Mark Twain. I was a little skeptical about ordering the first one. When it arrived I took it for a smoke and now I am really loving it. As it is with all MM cobs it is just a great pipe and here at Pipes & Cigars they have it at a great price too. I have now lost count of how many new favorite cob pipes I have but the Mark Twain is on that list. I would highly recommend this pipe to add to your collection. You'll be glad that you did.

Best pipe under $40 in my opinion
This is my favorite corn cob pipe and might be right up there with my favorite Stanwell briar pipes. It fits a whole flake in the bowl. Smokes nice. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a corn cob pipe with a bit larger bowl or someone wanting a great pipe for the money.

Great pipe!
Missouri Meerschaum never seems to disappoint. This pipe is no exception. I love the fat Dublin bowl. The one I received has a handful of small chips around the outside edge of the bowl, which I think just adds character to the pipe. It smokes beautifully.

Nice affordable pipe
I was needing a "back up" pipe and a friend recommended buying a cob made by MM. This is no longer a back up, but my favorite. Light weight and fantastic easy draw. I like to hike and this is my companion along the trail. Very happy with my purchase

Has become my favorite style corn cob pipe
This thing smokes like a dream. Peter Stokkebye proper English burns well in it. That's my Wednesday smoking pair up. Add a cup of dark roast coffee and your set. Guys low cost yes , the quality smoke of it rivals 30 an 40 dollar briars . My oldest cob is 30 years old. It was not smoked every day for 30 years by no means , but MM does cobs the right way.

Front porch pal...
This is the best cob I’ve ever tried. The size of the bowl and it’s incresed mass cools things off very nicely. Break in time is similar to a good briar in spite of what’s said about them. The bit is comfortable and fits well, the fit and finish of the pipe is excellent considering it’s low cost. The extra capacity is welcome. I’ve tried several tobaccos in it and will say that finer cuts seem to do best...then there’s Half & Half...just about a perfect combo. About the only thing I did was moisten the interior of the bowl for the first two smokes. Seems to help cool it off and initialize some cake. Likable pipe, oddly stylish, timeless design. Can’t tell much difference between Nedico and Grabow filters but will suggest changing the filter about every two bowls...pipe draws too easily without a filter.

REAL Nice MM corn cob.
Decent capacity bowl, VERY Light weight pipe, wish the stem was more rugged as I'm already ( in a very short time ) showing bite marks and it looks rather ' thin ' at the end that your teeth clamp down on. I'm consciously trying to " Lighten " up on my clenching. This pipe smokes amazingly DRY & Cool. Currently favoring the 6MM Balsa triangular filers ( Savaneli ) in this pipe as well as a Home-Made plastic reducer for a filter replacement.

Great all around "working pipe"
Love most "corn cob" pipes. They are great for general use in situations where you don't want to risk damaging your precious briar pipes. I'm partial to bent stems so this one fits right in. The thicker bowl is really nice since I'm a bit of a "hot smoker". Having a filter is also a plus in my opinion. All-in-all this is a wonderful all around pipe at a really great price.

Solid Corn Cob Pipe
A good solid, very thick corncob pipe. Nice variation from other corncobs. Slightly heavy, but not by too much. Takes a 6mm filter.
5 out of 5
Very nice pipe
It is bigger and thicker walled than the other cobs I have used which makes it smoke even cooler. It is almost too heavy to clench as is my habit but I am really enjoying it.

Like all Missouri Meerschaums
Great pipe, very well built and an overall good buy. 99% of the cob pipes I have are Missouri Meerschaums because not one else comes up to their standards and affordability.

Thanks' Mark
Bought both the straight and bent MM "Mark Twain" corn cob pipes. It is amazing, I have about 7 good briar pipes, but you just can't beat a CC pipe. These guys smoked wonderfully from the very first bowl. I have an old MM CC pipe probably almost 40 years old that I still smoke. These pipes are great, so much so I have purchased more, and anticipate buying even more.

Perfect for reading Twain's "Concerning Tobacco".
The Twain has a nice deep Dublin plastered bowl, which is a good bit heavier than the mid sized MM pipes like the Washington or Missouri Pride. The added mass and slightly larger bore is helpful to me on a cold day to keep the pipe smoking with fewer relights. It also feels a bit more substantial in the hand than the smaller MM models. It's not a clencher for doing chores, but is suited for sitting by a fire. I did find the bit a bit undersized for this size bowl, and upgraded with one from a Freehand, which feels more balanced with this pipe.

Good smoking cobb
I really like the form and size of the Twain straight. Feels cool in the hand and it’s a dry smoking cob. I actually like the little “filters” to soak up the moisture, but I smoke unfiltered briars too. Fantastic pipe. The only prep I do is muddle a little cigar ash and a few drops of water to “mud” the inside of the bowl. I always do this and have never had a problem with a cob bowl or shank from burning. Lovely and for around 8 bucks?? Get two! I am.
5 out of 5
A wonderful addition
This is a great pipe, gallery than the country gentleman but still alows for a nice long smoke. Cool in my hand and very cool smoke like most missouri meerschaums. I would highly recommend this pipe to anybody who enjoys a nice relaxing pipe on the porch

"The Classical Trademark I've used thus far!"
"I have smoked the M.M. Mark Twain and I like the shape of the bowl and that it has thick walls to keep the pipe from becoming too hot. It's quite a classic as far as I'm concerned. I plan to use it again soon during this weekend. Keep up the good work Missouri Meerschaum!"

The stem was a little loose so Pipes and Cigars kindly sent me a new one immediately without request. Very much appreciate the service. The cob burns pretty hot but it's comfy and I enjoy the look of the pipe. Not disappointed.

A great pipe for the Outdoors
This cob is just a perfect pipe for use when fishing, doing yard work, etc. Its got a nice, deep bowl and an easy draw, breaks in fast, keeps its good looks even with rough treatment, and doesnt ask for much maintenance-wise. My only critiscm is that I think the plastic stem ought to be upgraded a bit; other than that, a real winner!

Love it
Well it's a corn cob lol. It's like saying, "it's a Zippo." It just works, all the time. I originally had a medium sized bowl cob that was perfect but I wanted a longer smoke and this one is perfect for that. It's slightly heavier, obviously but it's still easy to clench, if you're in to that. Hope this helps.

Favorite cob
They must have fixed the bit/shank connection. This is the first one I bought and the stem is tighter than any other MMs I own. The bowl is huge. Its half an inch longer than the Legends. The shipping only took three days.

Great little pipe
MM pipes are great smokers, especially for the price. I enjoy cob pipes, and any of the MM shapes are nice. The Mark Twain is a great, classic medium sized pipe. Got a forever stem for mine, and now it both smokes and looks great.

WHATTAPIPE!!!
I like this cob so much I've bought several in case my first one ever breaks but so far that hasn't happened. Someone mention in an earlier comment that their Mark Twain had lost a star because of a loose bit. Just a little hint to anyone who enjoys smoking Missouri Meerschaum pipes... wrap a strip of thin paper (like a strip off of a store receipt) around the end of the stem that fits in the tenon of the pipe. This will re-tighten the stem without leakage. My favorite tobacco in this pipe is of course SPC's Mississippi River
4 out of 5
my first cob
Ordered one along with my last tobacco purchase. Nice pipe for the money. Was looking for another light weight pipe I could use while working. Unfortunately not an ideal pipe for such a purpose. The bowl is HUGE, which is great for not having to repack it every 20 minutes, but not so great if you're moving around a lot. Tends to swing in my mouth with almost all the weight being at the end. Might have to try the mini cob and bend the stem myself. Hopefully the bowl is bigger than my current nose warmer that I use on a daily basis while working. Then again I might be asking for too much, haha.
4 out of 5
Good as always...
This is my favorite style of Missouri Meerschaum. The walls are very thick and the lighter color is appealing. Lost one star because the bit was not tight to the shank and spun freely but otherwise no surprises from this item. Shipping was fast and pipesandcigars customer service is always great. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Wouldn't mind a larger mouthpiece, but it smokes well. I've dedicated it to my VA based blends.

Always a Pleasure
My Mark Twain Missouri Meershaum has become a - or the - daily smoker. I can put several loads through it without a difference in taste or quality of smoke. I'm very impressed with such a low-price pipe. When I first ordered it, I figured this would be another throwaway. Surprise! I get as much enjoyment out of this cob pipe than I do with some of the pricey units that just decorate my shelve now-days. Never a problem . . . great prices . . . good products . . . and on time!
Customer Testimonials
A handsomely constructed pipe with a big inner diameter to pack plenty of your favorite tobacco. It's my favorite everyday pipe.
EW of Virginia Beach, VA
Just recieved my Mark Twain and fired it up. Like all my other MM'S it smoked cool and dry. This pipe is replacing my recently retired Danish Spool and though not as large a bowl as the spool, the classic Dublin style will more than make up for that. Another great pipe from MM and again great service from P.C. !
TD of W. Glover, VT
This is a great pipe for the beginner or someone looking to test a cob. I like the bent shape and bowl size. I use it fairly regularly and have great flavor since breaking it in.
KH of Woodbridge, VA
I second all of these awesome comments here- such a great find from a timeless pipe making company.
JG of Hot Springs Village, AR
The black plastic stems are too soft, the old standard yellow stems seemed to be harder? Pipe smoked well, just thought the stem was disappointing.
TC of westmoreland, NY
In regards to the loose stem issue, do any of the past reviewers find this particular issue has resolved itself following a couple of smoked bowls of tobacco? Just curious and thank you...11.25.2014
MB of Valencia, CA
I've had three bowls of SPC' s Mississippi River in my new bent Mark Twain and this is one fine combination! I have a full collection of the Missouri Meerschaum cobs and this may prove to be the best. The bowl is just the perfect size and shape for my taste. I'm going to buy a couple more just to have the spares.
RS of Austin, TX
I love this pipe! I am probably ruining it with over use and not letting it rest. Completely neutral to the tobacco flavor. Weight and balance are very nice. Price point is remarkable. Every time I pick it up I feel like I have a fishing rod in my hand and a summer on the water never has to end. My handful of briars is getting ignored.
JM of La Porte, IN
Just received my Mark Twain today. I've smoked it through the break-in period already. This is a terrific pipe, and I will purchase more.
JB of Port Deposit, MD
This one instantly became my favorite cob. Great shape. Perfect bowl size. Smokes like a dream. I had the same loose stem issue that others have complained of, but this is a problem easily solved if you do a little internet research on loose stems. Worth the minor fix for what I think is the best cob out there. Especially for this price.
JG of Winter Garden, FL
I love my Mark Twain MM, like all MM cobs, it is a cool and dry smoker. The big bowl holds plenty of my favorite tobaccos and feels great in my XXL size hand. I overcame the loose shank/stem fit problem with a custom stem, something I do anyway with all my cobs.
JH of Sterling Heights, MI
I received my MM Mark Twain last night in the mail and fired up for my late evening smoke. The bowl was a perfect size and shape for about an hour smoke. The only problem I had was the stem was very loose in the shank. That was a disappointment but for the price I can handle it. Pipes and Cigar might want to do a little quality and control because this is the second review stating the same problem. Other than that I have 9 other MM cobs and I enjoy them more often than my briars.
WW of Rome, NY
I really like the shape and size of the pipe and it smokes well, just like I would expect from an MM. However, I was disappointed to find that the bit was quite loose. It appears to be an issue of the mortise being a touch too large for the bit. I figured that out when I tried using bits from other MMs that I have. While I understand that this issue is most likely from the factory and for the price you can expect some flaws (some much more manageable than others), it was still disappointing. This certainly won't discourage me from buying MMs in the future, but I might stick to the ones that I can get at the tobacco shop and inspect myself, even if they don't come in as many cool shapes.
LP of Lakewood, OH
One of my favorite authors comes together with my favorite style of pipe... the Dublin. I bought a pouch of Missouri Pride, as well, and they were immediately included into my rotation. I will be ordering more of both to be sure!
MS of crest hill, IL
Received my Mark Twain MM pipe today . Have smoked it several times already . The bowl is the perfect size for a satisfying smoke , good feel in the hand or even to hold in your teeth . I smoke a 50-50 blend of Gawith&Hoggarth Burley&Bright and blending AAA burley ,good flavor and room note . The Mark Twain I just received is a straight stem , going to order the bent stem next . They will make a good addition to my other MM's. Anyone that smokes MM'S will really enjoy the Mark Twain .
FM of irondale, OH
What good things can one say about MM cobs that hasn't been said already? Another stellar smoker, it's like MM took 1/4 of the top of a freehand off and recreated the wheel. And it's a wheel you gotta have guys. Just order a couple and you'll be just fine.
JA of Greendale, WI
This pipe is the perfect size for my preference. Nice big bowl, good weight and great finish. Also, this pipe smokes great with Ole Shenandoah Barrel No. 76 just, like all of the other MM corncobs that I have.
SM of Kimberly, WI
Nice big bowl, good heft and lot's of classic look. Can't wait to fire it up!

AK of Scranton, PA
Just got my Mark Twain pipe in the mail today and couldn't be happier! Very cool looking( I got the bent) and exactly what I wanted. It's the same height and chamber size as the Country Gentleman, with a hardwood plug like the Gentleman; so if you have one of those, you will know what to expect from the Twain. Smokes great, as do all Missouri Meerschaums, so get one!
