The Ozark pipes are like cobs in design but made of hardwood for greater durability. There's no better smoke anywhere for less than $5.00.
M&M cherry hardwood. I like this pipe so much I ordered a 2nd one. I like it better than the M&M maple. It seem taste better!
This is great and well priced good deal !
Great little pipe, especially for the price. The hardwood presence is definitely there when you take a drag with a new pipe and I thought that would be a problem. After a few bowls this was no longer an issue and this pipe has become one of my regular go tos for a quick smoke!
Very nice pipe, i like it. Super fast shipping too. Happy customer.
Bad ass backyard cutting the grass pipe also for fishing. Smoke well draws well for the price a good deal.
Can you find a better pipe for $4? Nope. I was happy with the aesthetics. the cherry bent i bought really is pleasing to behold, especially considering the price point. So far it has smoked like a champ, offering much more than a $4 should. my only gripe was that my stem was pretty darn loose. beeswax I am told is the fix for this. My bet is that most of these offerings have a nice tight stem and mine was a bit of a dud. Every other MM pipe I've bought has been solid so I am overlooking this. This one smokes just fine and for $4 i will invest in more. Don't hesitate to buy this!
Stop thinking about it and just get one or two. You won't regret it.
Good pipe for the money. The bowl is on the small side. The bit on mine was extremely loose (used some boiling water to swell the stem and re-size the bit). Smokes really nice for a small pipe. I'm a big fan of MM cobs, and the Ozark is almost as nice. This little pipe will find a home in my motorcycles saddlebag.
Awesome little pipe. It 's s great smoker for a little price.
Nothing fancy, but it smokes. This is a good pipe if you want to smoke while doing outside chores.
A very good working mans pipe. Light weight, well put together, does not smoke hot or wet. Only thing I did not like was the bowl is varnished but the wood stem is only stained. I fixed that with some wipe on poly varnish though. One tip is to take some sandpaper and sand the inside of the bowl to get the varnish off. Makes the break in smokes more pleasing on your palate. I look forward to many smokes and this is going to be my bang around pipe.
As others have mentioned, you need to sand the extra lacquer from the inside of the bowl, but I love this little pipe. Its easy to handle and the perfect size for an after work smoke during my 20 minute commute. I'm going to get another one.
Purchased the Ozark Hardwood Maple Straight. Under $5!! Along with scraping off the varnish (easy to do with a pocket-knife), I cleaned the bowl with Cuervo Gold. This is America's little secret.
I love this pipe, it's cheap it can be smoked all day with out a problem. I choose this pipe more then some of my more expensive briar wood pipes.
I agree with the majority of the reviews above. Super little pipe for the money. I too took some sandpaper to the inside of the bowl when it arrived. First bowl of tobacco I could taste a tinge of the varnish. After that, Eureka! Will be ordering some more of these.
This pipe smokes as well as my way more expensive briars. I love this one so much that I just ordered a 2nd one. It does have a light coat of stain on the inside that I removed in less than a minute with the spay blade of my peanut trapper pocket knife. Pack it light and it stays pretty cool. I did notice a wood taste (that I found pleasant) on the 1st couple of bowls. I also removed the filter and find this to smoke smooth with no moistness in the bottom. It has become my go to pipe most of the time. Great for any price and a steal at under $10. Just clean the bowl before smoking and pack light, then you have a great smoking pipe that looks good, too. I highly recommend it.
Great little pipe!!! I read the reviews and sanded the bowl out. It works and taste great. I will get some more of these.
I want to love this pipe, but I hate it. The aesthetics of it are nice for a very cheap pipe. I was expecting that because of the design that it would offer a smoking experience similiar to a corn cob. Boy was I ever wrong! I've read about the staining making it into the inside of the bowl. I have a nice thin layer of char on the inside walls of this thing and every single time I smoke it I get a nasty wood burning taste. This pipe makes all of my blends taste the same with bitter and acrid smoke. The only blend I have been able to taste is a Dunhill English blend with adequate amounts of Latakia. Save your money and get a cob.
Besides having varnish in the bowl, which I removed with sand paper. It's a nice little pipe for everyone. Especially when trying new tobaccos. I pre-carbonized it overnight, then enjoyed my first taste of Sutliff's (Private Stock) Molto Dolce. Nice little pipe and extremely good aromatic tobacco.
..A great value for this quality hardwood pipe !
This is really a great little pipe! It looks good and smokes nice. Very light and easy to hold between the teeth. Not as much break in time required as for the maple pipes. I would like to have one with a larger bowl, such as the maple Diplomat.
Beautifull smaller pipe for a very good price. Light weight to me put together very well. If you are wanting a good priced good quality product I highly recommend any thing made by Mo Merschaum.
Too small and too thin not a big fan
Very basic but good smoke. The finish is a bit rough but for the price a winner.
First time smoking with a pipe its perfect for it's price and is great
Broke this pipe in tonight with Pete st sweet vanilla,I have to agree a very nice pipe,my new favorite,I'm going to order a bunch more since I now have a good variety of tobaccos, and it takes a 6mm filter, very very nice and for me the bowl is just right. PEACE!
awesome small pipe! great for a quick smoke. definitely recommend you add this to your collection
I've had one of these for a couple of months now and it's done its duty better than I ever thought a $4 pipe could. Now that it's broken in, I feel like I can take it wherever I go and not worry about it like I would my nicer briar. I have no doubt this will outlast a corn cob at a similar price.
not a bad pipe for the money. I did need to sand off the varnish from the inside of the bowl. Once some cake gets built up I'm sure it'll taste fine once its broken in.
I have been absolutely blown away by the MM Maple Ozark pipe (full size). I almost hate to admit it (because I love my briars), but this has got to be the most versatile, best smoking pipe I own. I initially resited trying this pipe because of other reviews I had read claiming the "thick lacquer" on the inside of the bowl imparted a bitter, chemical taste to the smoke. Intrigued by the neat look and ridiculously low price, I finally decided there was really nothing to lose in trying it - and man am I glad I did! The pipe I received did indeed have lacquer inside the bowl, but was not at all thick or hard, and within about five minutes with some 150 grit sandpaper, I had the bowl sanded down to the bare maple. I also replaced the stem with Danish amber stem (a $0.50 upgrad from MM that really makes the pipe look sharp and more comfortable to clench). There was absolutely NO break-in period with this pipe, and from the very first smoke I tasted no ill-effects to the tobacco, with just a very subtle, pleasant sweetness added by the maple wood (very similar to a Cobb). With the paper filter removed, the draw is perfectly smooth and open, making any tobacco I've tried in it burn perfectly with cool, dry smoke. The maple seems to be very absorbent; this coupled with the small space below the stem insert at the bottom of the bowl create and absolutely DRY smoke from start to finish - NO gurgling or tars up the stem. I had expected the bowl to be rather small, but I was surprised to find that though it is only about 1.2" deep, it is rather wide, allowing for plenty of tobacco and a long smoke (I had a burley blend last for 55 minutes while smoking slowly). In my opinion, with the upgraded stem, this pipe is much more handsome than a cobb, far more durable, lighter and very comfortable to clench hands-free - the perfect "walking the dog pipe." At less than $5.00, I plan to order several more of these and keep one with me at all times. Do not hesitate - BUY THIS PIPE.
Awesome pipe! For $4 you cannot beat this guy. Lightweight, doesn't but too hot, easy to clench, not much up-keep, and looks like you fit right in driving around the mountains of Eastern Tennessee. It is wonderful to have lying around and I will be getting a few more for gifts, and also just to have around.
