Normally get Peter Stokeye 80, thought I would try something similar, this was a little harsher , like very mild blends

A fine smoke, but no Blackberry taste
This is a mild and mellow smoke, that I really enjoyed. If I wasn’t expecting Blackberry, I would have given it 5 stars!

What I was looking for....
I got sold on English blends about a year ago and was smoking Stokkebye Luxury 17 as my #1 smoke. Eventually sorry to say it became boring. It's a good tobacco I think I just got too used to the taste and wanted something more lively. Then I tried Newminster and it was just what ai was looking for. My taste isn't developed enough to pick out different tobaccos so I don't know if it's the black cavindish or the perique or the virginia, but it has a distinct flavor I really like.

Clean and Flavorful
This blend has been my go to lately as I enjoy the flavor of an aromatic, but I've been turned off by the film of chemical after tastes left by many other aromatics. A 50/50 mixture of this blend and Perique has surpassed my preference for Lane 1-Q.

Newminster Blackberry Brandy
Its a good aromatic to switch to when you want a change or everyday smoke that doesnt overpower you. This to me seems a touch more than mid medium but thats good because its satisfying.

Great smoking tobacco. As a pipe smoker for many years, I enjoy this tobacco very much.

Great smoke
Pleasant and burns nicely. Also great for blending. Try mixing Sutcliffe vanilla custard. I prefer 2 sut 1 new..

Smooth smoking, rich tobacco taste,
Smooth smoking, rich tobacco taste, little to no tongue bite, aroma a bit too sweet for my taste but other qualities out weigh this minor problem, my favorite English blend

Subtle smoke
This is a good blend for someone who isn't looking for a latakia heavy smoke. As you smoke it starts floral and you get a good essence of the latakia. Once the mix heats up, you start to get the grassiness of the virginia followed by the VA's slight sweetness. Sometimes I mix a bit of straight black cavendish (non aromatic) and that seems to subdue the grassiness from the virginia while I play with the sweetness from the tobacco and the flavor of the latakia. If I used an aromatic cavendish, I think the subtle latakia smoke would be wiped out all together.

Smooth
It is one of the better flavored pipe tobbacos I've tried recently. Very relaxing, i think if you like cavindish you'll like this kicked up with just the right amount of blackberry.

Very good blend
I am completely satisfied with my purchase. It is smooth and has a great room note.

Newminster No. 17 English Luxus
I have always enjoyed English tobaccos. Unfortunately I hadn't picked up a pipe in a number of years. I tried an ounce of English Luxus and felt like I was "back home." I don't have the palette to describe the different flavors within the mixture, but I enjoyed it from the first bowl.

Great Choice!
Excellent flavor and room note! Smokes nice and easy. Will definitely be getting more.

Excellent Vanilla Flavor, Mellow
I was about to give it a bad review since when I first smoked it after (almost) drying it, it tasted absolutely gross. But since I live in a humid area I decided to give it another try and dry it out for 2 weeks at room temperature. People say 2 weeks is overkill, but after drying it, it was amazing and the vanilla came out excellently without being overpowering or overly artificial tasting. It is mellow and good for mornings and noon, or all day smoke. At this price, it is an excellent deal.

nice strong aromatic
This was ordered for the wife, and is one of her favorites. The room note is great, and the few pipe's I've had with this has been good. This is a good strong flavored aromatic, so if you're a fan of lighter aros, this might not be for you.

Winner!
Nice room note. Wife likes. With proper cadence no tounge bite.

Smooth and Sweet
Wonderful! Smooth, sweet but still allows some natural taste to come through. Others in public have not been disturbed by the room note at all. This tastes nasty when its too wet imo so I dry it out a bit. Tastes eerily similar to signature summer harvest by H&H. Maybe there is some of this in that.

All around crowd pleaser
Ordered this for me to try, and the wife has commandeered it! Its her new favorite... I've had maybe 2 pipe fulls at this point. I think its pretty nice, but it smells even more amazing sitting next to her smoking a non-aro while she's puffing away on this stuff. The room note could easily win over non-smokers. The blackberry flavor would almost be too sweet, but the brandy helps balance it nicely. if you're thinking about getting it, just get it.

Newminster no. 23 Blackberry Brandy is a mellow smoke.
Blackberry Brandy is what I bought because there was no straight blackberry available. Definitely smells of liquor and blackberry. I'll smoke it in lieu of straight blackberry but would prefer simple blackberry. I would buy again.

Fantastic tobacco, smooth, light and mellow.

Not An Aromatic Tobacco, But...
Will get compliments on room note. It's an Oriental-forward blend with noticeable amounts of Red Virginia and Burley that all play nice together. A good solid everyday smoke.

Not An Aromatic
This Oriental-forward blend has enough Red Virginia and Burley to be noticeable, but they all play nice together. A very good all day smoke that gets a lot of compliments on room note.

Newminster 80 Norway
Very light, inoffensive blending based. Barely topped, more fruity bag note than anything, practically a non-aro. Smoked at the 2 year mark with no changes. This may be the right tobacco for a light puffer with a low nicotine tolerance.

Very odd
Very unusual, nondescript flavor. Was okay the first time or two but then became what I would call "cloying." Must be one of those things like horehound that's either an acquired taste or for palettes that were raised on it. I'm not sure what they eat in Norway that tastes like this but I sure as heck didn't grow up on it.

A good one
I am a real fan of Newminster Blends and English Luxus is great, it has that sweet fermentation that the top English's have and a cool even burning nature. It's one for smoking now and cellaring as well.

Its lightly aromatic with a hint of leather, quite enjoyable.

Homemade Blackberry Cobbler👍!
I Have Seen It On The List, But Wasn't CERTAIN About Buying It🤔. Well, I DID😲! I RECENTLY Got A SECOND Pouch Of It😃👍! It's GREAT😁! The Room Note Reminds Me Of SUMMER At My Grandmother's House & Her HOMEMADE Blackberry Cobbler😋! It Burns NICE & SLOWLY With A COOL Smoke👍! DEFINITELY One Of My FAVORITES😁!!!!!!!

very nice
This is a great tobacco from the recently launched Newminster line. Quality and value are great (and P&C has run sales on the line, also a plus). Leathery Latakia complements a warm and full Virginia sweetness, with a hint of floral in the nose. Well-balanced and very enjoyable!

Strong and Satisfying
This was really my second English style purchase, the first being Dunhill Nightcap. I was amazed at how good this smokes, and tastes! I do smoke a lot of aros, but this has something in it that i just can't get enough of! I bought 4 ounces to try....just bought another 21 because this stuff will be my go to smoke in the evening. Its strong, but not like Nightcap. Its a nice melody of flavor, smell, and burn. I'd recommend trying this stuff and let your pipe be your guide! I think Newminster English Lux will be my new go to for at least the next year or so.

Excellent!
Excellent! Great room note. The initial cold draw was a little odd, but that could have been the new pipe. Once I added fire though, it was great. Will definitely buy more.

Dang Good Stuff !!!
Smoke English/Scottish blends every now and then, Smoke Aromatics 75% of the time, Cherry-Vanilla-Blackberry-Honey-Caramel-nougat-brown sugar-chocolate-whiskey-rum,,,,,, you name it !!! Wife says this stuff stinks like SIN !!! She radically prefers the smell of my ' Fruity-Sweet ' selections. When I smoke stuff loaded with Latakia/Perique, she swears I'm smoking crap I've dug out of the Kitchen Trash !!!! The High Level uniqueness of Latakia & Perique is MOST pleasurable at times !! !! !!

Berrylicious!!!!!
Let me start out with the smell out of the bag. This stuff smells so good, I want to eat it, but decided to smoke it. This being said, I loved the roomnote and the taste of the tobacco was delicious. It wasn't overwhelming, but just right. I have bought 8 ozs of this and it is in my rotation to stay. It burns down to the bowl smoothly, without any bite. Love this stuff.

Smooth with just enough sweet
Real smooth smoke , right down to the bowl. The tobacco wasn't too damp, and had a nice roomnote. I liked this stuff cause it wasn't over the top sweet.

A Good Smoke for the Pipe Smoker but Don't Expect Non Smoking Wife to Like
Not quite what I was hoping for. My wife hates when I smoke inside so I was looking for something really sweet with a pleasant room note, (something like the blackberry brandy tea we used to drink many years ago). Upon opening the bag, we were both pleasantly greeted with the aroma of blackberry brandy. However, upon lighting and taking my initial puffs, I knew I was in trouble. I could really taste the blackberry brandy, but I also tasted a stronger rich tobacco taste. My wife instantly lost her smile and said the room smelled like tobacco smoke, so out to the porch I went. In my opinion, the tobacco taste and smell too soon overpowered the blackberry brandy taste and smell. Overall I'd say that Newminster No. 23 Blackberry Brandy is a satisfying blend that a pipe smoker should enjoy smoking, but it's not that magical smoke that will make your non smoking wife happy to smell in your home! Theodore E.

Still love it, especially blended
Second review, as enthusiastic as the first! I've started blending 1 part Newminster 23 with one part Peter Stokkebye black coffee and two parts Lane Bulk HS-3. Great smoke for a winter walk.

Most Likeable Stuff ! ! !
This is Very pleasing Aromatic ------ Great burning characteristics ---- Intriguing Taste ---- Wife even loves to come out on front porch and set with Me !!! !!! This stuff has a habit of making your other " Fruity Sweet " aromatics taste kind of Bland after you get accustomed to this No. 23 stuff !! !! !!

I Like this one !!!
This pipe tobacco tastes Real Good. Smells good to others nearby ( or so they claim ) and it keeps that unique taste factor going for quite a ways down the bowl. Haven't gotten bit on the tongue by this stuff yet but I take care Not to Puff like a locomotive too ! Fuller bodied-Richer aromatics have a tendency to demand slower paced smoking. And I believe this is one of them ! ! !

Very Satisfying Blend
To me this is a very heady but gentle smoke. The aroma of blackberry brandy greets you on opening the bag. You really taste the blackberry brandy, but also a rich tobacco taste. The blackberry brandy and tobacco tastes compliment each other perfectly, much like sipping the finest aged blackberry brandy while smoking a satisfying rich pipe tobacco. The same is true of the room presence, those around you will enjoy the aroma. Newminster No. 23 Blackberry Brandy is a very satisfying blend I think every pipe smoker owes it to themselves to try.

Just what I was looking for, something flavorful but not too sweet. Good substitute for my favorite but unavailable black currant.

First bowl, incredible, perfect blackberry flavor, reminds me of a berry smoothie almost. Try it, you wont regret

Tasty with a great room note.
The flavor is pleasant, smooth, with vanilla and blackberry tones. The burn is good, and not too hot, with little to no bite. The room note is where this tobacco shines; I left my smoking room for a minute after smoking a bowl, and when I returned the blackberry aroma was clear and sweet to the nose. The New monster No. 23 Blackberry Brandy is a permanent part of my tobacco rotation.

Newminster No. 80 Norway
Nice smooth blend. It is burley forward, but I caught hints of the virginia and turkish in there as well. I thought it was well balanced. I thought it had a tea-like smell upon opening the pouch. I caught hints of a tea flavor in the smoke too. I will be ordering this one again. Good any time of the day.

I smoke this all day. It is light, smooth and has a light aroma.

Try this!
This is a very complex tobacco. You get the fruit and aroma of a black Cavendish blend but it tastes and smokes like a high end cigar. Try it in a keystones pipe and don't judge it till you have had several bowls.

This is my every day smoke, it is absolutely the best tobacco I have tried as of now. It usually has very few sticks and stems, and is very flavorful.
TT of cache, OK
I smoke mostly mild aromatics. This one was a bit stronger than what I am usually used to. I liked it. The flavor was not overpowering. I can see adding this to some of my more mild tobaccos to give it a bit of a kick. I will buy it again.
